Renekton is one of those champions where I just cant figure out the items for.

Here is my item build :
Dorans Shield
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Spirit Visage
The Brutalizer
Black Cleaver
Blood Thirster

With those items, he has damage output but not a whole lot. I could get snowball items, but I have a issue when ever I pick one up (my head gets too big if I get a lot of stacks and end up losing them all).

Cooldown reduction and armor penetration are definitely a must, but I dont think he needs all the cdr that I gave him in that particular build.

I just want a little insight on how you would build him.

Thanks.

Yeah im having the same troubles. Theres too many stats i want to buy for. i'm Currently using:
Boots of Lucidity
Warmogs
Frozen mallet
Spirit visage
Blood thirster
then either another BT or BC. But this means a massive cost so have to farm minions real hard.
Life is a game, you just have to play it!

I've been going for

Doren's Shield (to start off with 1 health potion)
Boots of Lucidity
Frozen mallet
Black Cleaver
Blood thirster
Infinity Edge
Defensive item (drop Doren's Shield for this)

the defensive item can vary on the game really I usually go for Guardian Angel which gives me 142 armor and 102 magic resist (including runes also) that in combination with frozen mallet is usually enough for me since I'm then on about 2602 health, around 350 Attack Damage as well. also the defensive item can be brought early if its needed usually forth item if that is the case.

also if the team is heavy AD themselves I might get a Randuin's omen the extra cooldown reduction never hurts and the health on top of frozen mallet will be more than enough for him.

I'm still testing this but felt like giving my opinion if it helped anyone :P.

Yeah I figured I would post this so other people can reflect off of each other and work out a solid build.

One thing about him though is that he is one hell of a harass early game.

I had the best game with

dorans shield
boots of lucidity
ghostblade
frozen mallet
sunfire cape
guardian angel

currently asking myself if heavier on the AD would be worth it but i dont know... maybe only use brutalizer instead of ghostblade or build ghost last but needs more testing

Maxing out, or getting very close to maxing out your cooldown reduction will make a huge difference for your damage output.
My top builds. Currently most actively working on my Master Yi guide.

I tested him out a bitsy.

Skill/item setup can always be found on my ideas vol. 2.

I find him quite effective for AD stacking. 3 skills with low cd that have nice AD scaling?

I go
boots of lucidity - for early game CDR (the skills are a bit high cd before lvled)
Brutallizer
Vamp scepter for jungling in mid game.
BF
Yoyo
Scepter
BF
2x Thirster upgreade
Defensive item - Mallet
Defensive item - Omen.

Thanks to jhoijhoi for the sig!

Currently, he's best played as Offtank, since they nerfed his Q into the ground. 'Since his Q now only heals 10%, instead of 100%, Spirit Visage is pretty useless now. I usually go.
Boots of Lucidity
Brutaliser
Sunfire Cape
Yoyo
Frozen Mallet
Madred's Bloodrazor
Valester

I've been experimenting with him a bit lately and I've found that there's a lot that works with Ren. I played a game with him just last night and did very well.

I opened with Vampiric Scepter and went into,

Berserker Greaves
Phage into Frozen Mallet
BF Sword into BloodThirster
BF Sword into Black Cleaver
Sunfire

The game ended before I could grab Item number 6, but I was debating going for either Phantom Dancer or Infinity Edge.

I did what I could to stack damage with survivability. The key to Ren is being able to gather rage quickly, and attack speed really helps with that as you gain 5 rage per attack. The life steal and his Cull the Meek along with his ult and it's small CD really make him durable.

With this build, I'm often called to Tank, and at the same time, I can still dish out very decent damage output. Just my 2 cents here. Hope it helps.
