Try a 
Doran's Blade start vs Dr. Mundo next time. Mundo's lane is pretty weak pre 6, which is why being aggressive and trying to kill him then is generally a pretty good idea. Obviously Trundle might not be able to abuse the extra damage as well as - for example - a Renekton (because he doesn't have a gap closer), but I'd still pick it over Doran's Shield any day, especially since that item has been nerfed.

I usually don't go aggressive in top lane 'cause that's just not how I do, but those games were recent, and I should really try some more aggressive playing, instead of just passive until I'm 100% sure I could kill them.
