but seriously the whole point behind the energy mechanic is that it regenerates quickly, if you put runes into making it regen faster, then it might as well just be mana.

On Lee when I'm jungling I SOMETIMES put in some max energy runes to allow me to gank more effectively with blue. (Can spam all abilities in a row due to slight regen + max)

Yeah no. Well-intended but they don't work well.
Instead of energy marks, get magic pen or armor pen. (Or attack damage for Akali or w/e you REALLY need for a jungle)
Instead of energy seals, get armor maybe.
Instead of energy glyphs, get magic resist or ability power or cdr or w/e.

You get the point I hope. They are good runes outdone by GREAT runes.
