Hey guys I'm Flowstylex, currently Gold V and my main and favorite Role so far is the Jungle. I'm playing Lol since summer 2012 and 90% of the time im Jungler in Ranked games, or I at least try to.
Everybody knows that with the pre-season and the new Season 4 there will be bunch of changes. So I wanted to create a Blog where I share the news and my opinion about them with you.
Jungle News (11.7.13)
Hello guys and welcome back to a new episode of "Jungle News", today we'll be discovering the new Jungle Item Changes and I wanted to go a bit more In-Depth with the new Wight Camp. Okay, let's jump in!
Jungle Item Changes
Riot changed the Jungle Items because of following reasons:
In the current game, Junglers tend fall behind their allies after laning phase ends.
So what did they do against it?
Here we've adjusted jungle items to compensate by adding additional gold generation patterns to several jungle items that complement the intended playstyle of those items
So what does this mean? They gave several Jungle Items an additional Passive to generate more Gold while still respecting their playstyle comparing to the type of item. Okay, let's see what they've done:
Incinerate passive now procs on physical damage, damage increased to 16-50 from 7-40
Unique Passive: Champion kills, assists and epic monsters grant 30 gold and 10 gold from large monsters
So they reduced the AD even more, and changed the passive DoT from true damage to physical damage, but at least they increased the flat Damage a bit. The new Unique Passive is quite interesting I think, because it really improves the gold income for both Ganking Jungler and Farming Jungler, so maybe we'll see Spirit of the Elder Lizard more frequently on Shaco!
[Side Note: I don't know if I got it wrong, the changes about the DoT passive are quite ambiguous written, I don't know whether they mean the type of damage got changed or if it only procs with physical damage, if you could give me a hint that would be really nice :)]
Okay I think we can skip Spirit of the Ancient Golem because it's pretty straight forward, less HP and more Gold income, quite ok on farming jungler.
Recipe changed to: Spirit Stone + Fiendish Codex + 480g (Total 2000g)
50 Ability Power (from 40)
10% Cooldown Reduction
14 Health regen per 5 (from 0)
7 Mana regen per 5 (from 10)
Unique Passive: 5% of magic damage dealt to monsters is restored as Health and Mana (instead of 20% Spellvamp)
Unique Passive – Bounty Hunter: Champion kills, assists and epic monsters grant 30 gold and 10 gold from large monsters
The new item path is much easier to purchase ( Fiendish Codex instead of Hextech Revolver), and finally this item gives health regeneration and a new kind of "spellvamp". They also added the passive to generate more gold which is very useful and effective, overall a pretty strong item now and maybe the AP Jungler will be more popular now!
Unique Passive: Deals 100 magic damage and heals 10 health per hit against monsters
Unique Passive: Gain 40% increased gold from monsters
Well the new Wriggle's Lantern is perfect for farming Jungler IMO, but I mean those Jungler who never gank a lane and farm in the jungle for late game (like Tryndamere). The good mix from sustain, clear speed and increased gold income for such an cheap price makes this item so cost effective. I definitely like the new version.
The Wight (In-Depth)
The new Wight Camp spawns near Blue Buff and wolves, he's looking like a gray Wraith. I'm not sure if this is his end-looking or just a placeholder. He has no lizards assisting him, but has really strong stats tho.
At level 1 he has 1400 Health, 15 Armor and 75 Attack Damage, which is really strong. But because of the fact that he only gives 150 (you need 380 to get to level 2) and about 55g it's not worth starting at this Camp.
RED:Wight Location.
Jungle News (11.5.13)
Jungle Camp Changes
The Jungle Creeps will now have a level depending on the average level of the champions in the game when the camp spawns, a higher level results in more HP/Damage but also EXP/Gold.
Thanks to these changes it's more effective now to leave one little Minion alive when counterjungling, so the enemy Jungler will miss out all the EXP and Gold from the stolen Creeps AND they can't reset their level.
These changes won't hurt too much I think, because you can get CDR cheap and effective from items like Kindlegem or Fiendish Codex early and Athene's Unholy Grail or Frozen Heart later in the game.
But now it's less effective to take Blue Buff as a manaless Champion who only needed the CDR.
I think it's more effective to give the Blue Buff to the Toplaner if both the Jungler and the Midlaner are manaless champions.
Simple Example:
- Zac in the Jungle
- Vladimir is midlaner
- Olaf is Toplane
Zac gives the blue buff to Olaf instead of Vladimir, so he can spam his Undertow all day long and propably win the lane with this.
IMO this tactic will be used more frequently now after these changes.
New Jungle Camp
Riot added a new Camp to the Jungle, the Wight!
The Wight:
has 1400 Health;
75 Attack Damage;
15 Armor
and gives 55 Gold + 150 Experience
That means the Wight is slightly weaker then Blue and Red but gives less Gold and EXP.
These changes really bring back farming or AoE junglers back to the Field of Justice, because now they can actually sit in their jungle and farm when every lanes are unable to Gank.
I think Champs who really benefit from these changes are for example Shyvana, Phoenix Udyr or even Sejuani.
Well that's it for today, hope you enjoyed and next time I'll cover the new bush positions and the changed Jungle Items. Good luck on the field of justice!
