Alright the new filter is up. I rewrote it to make the white list handling much more accurate. I also ran the new filter against a massive database of words taken from our own database, as well as a massive English language dictionary, and found a long list of exceptions that had been missed.
This new filter will be slower, as it is more thorough and hence more accurate, but it's worth it.
It will take time for the caches to refresh, but in a few days once everything clears, you should see much fewer false positives and weird errant *s in your guides. Let me know if you still spot any issues.
