Depends on the situation. Personally I like getting a Youmuu's so getting % ArP after that would just be inefficient so I follow it up with a Black Cleaver if I do need any extra ArP. Although, if you don't find any use in Youmuu's on Yi, getting a Black Cleaver given the situation that the enemy team is stacking little to no armor sounds reasonable. If they get a ****load of armor gogo Last Whisper.
Since Yi usually runs Youmuu's/Stark's or some variant of it, I'd go with Cleaver instead of LW. If you happen to not be running Youmuu's/Stark's, then sure, grab Ghostblade. As B-Wong said, any flat ArP you already have makes LW more inefficient.
Last whisper is situational, and is best the enemy is stacking armor.

For most melee carries, yes. But on ranged carries LW is usually better.
Stark's is kind of a meh item tho.. The only area it shines in is sustained pushes.

youmu + runes + stark + masteries = 71 arp
the enemy need to have at least 300 armor to make the arp from last whisper worth it and i dont talk about the AD/AS
its even more for champs with built in flat arp like Olaf
dont forget the %arp is after the flat so its worth only if
- the enemy have VERY heavy armor
- you have no flat arp items at all, then runes + masteries give you nice dmg early/mid and last whisper end game
- you have % armor pen with skills , like urgot or jarvan which naturaly reduce the effectivness of flat arp
ps : i think its worth writing a guide on spell&armor penetration very few ppl are aware of how it work

Stark has a lot of HP reg. Because of that it's very ineffective in terms of damage per second and thus a kinda bad carry item... Don't get it on carries.

Urgot and Jarvan both have %armor reduction and it does not reduce the effectiveness of flat ArP. ALL kinds of penetration/reduction are less effective with %penetration.
We should have a guide on this, but you don't know the mechanics so don't write one..
