Teamfight Tactics Patch 13.15 - HUGE Piltover T-Hex changes

Big Rework to Piltover's T-Hex. Zaun is getting changes that may turn them into the OP comp of the patch. Ahri is receiving well-deserved nerfs along with Aurelion Sol's It Pays to Learn. Three Noxus Units are being buffed too much, and a lot more in this TFT Patch 13.15

Last patch we saw the brief domination of Invokers (before being hotfixed), the rise of Ahri as THE go-to unit, and the overpopulation of Aurelion Sol Legends in most lobbies.

This new TFT patch 13.15 will bring balance to some of these overperformers but also give huge quality of changes to traits like Zaun (OP) and Piltover, buffs to weaker early units (Kayle, Poppy), and changes to augments dynamics that you need to look over before playing this patch.

Without further ado, let’s jump into the changes (and there are a lot of them).

TFT Patch 13.15

Summary of the changes. Source by Riot Games

Trait buffs and nerfs. Big Rework to Piltover, buffs to Void (again), and nerfs to Noxus. TFT Patch 13.15

Piltovers are receiving a big rework to its T-Hex, making it riskier but more rewardful (tons of loot). Noxus stacking power is getting massive nerfs to their numbers, although they are being compensated in their base stats. And regarding buffs, Void creatures are yet again buffed, more damage to Rogue 4, and Zaun massive QoL changes.

Piltover – Reworked

Since the start of Set 9, Piltover has been in an iffy state. When the T-Hex is strong, the comp feels amazing to play, but when that’s not the case, players weren’t as quite happy to use the trait only for its loots. That’s why to make playing Piltover more of an attractive option (and riskier to play) they are reworking the way T-Hex works.

Now T-Hex will give both loot and power when winning. This doesn’t mean that the T-Hex itself is gonna stay the same, you will not receive the same amount of Power + Loot as before, instead, it receives less power and loot per stack to balance things out

Expect the rewards to be distributed in this fashion: 20% in the cashout power and the remaining 80% in your loot cashout.

  • Piltover: The T-Hex can no longer be sold for loot
  • Piltover: The T-Hex no longer starts with 1 Charge
  • Piltover loot tables have been adjusted
  • T-Hex Base Armor & MR: 15 ⇒ 25
  • T-Hex Armor & MR per Power: 2 ⇒ 1
  • T-Hex Health per Power: 65 ⇒ 45
  • T-Hex now has new power breakpoints!
  • T-Hex 20 Power: 2-star and Hextech Breath unlocked
  • T-Hex 40 Power: 3-star
  • T-Hex 80 Power: 4-star
  • T-Hex star levels are purely visual indicators so you can estimate the T-Hex’s strength. Stats are based on the T-Hex’s current Power
  • T-Hex Charges item now displays estimated loot value on victory
  • T-Hex Progress item no longer displays estimated loot value when the T-Hex is sold because the T-Hex can no longer be sold
  • Piltover (6) average loot value has been increased

Zaun – First Zaun Mod is a Carry one. Don’t need to sell units for removing Mods!

In the last patch, the Zaun comp was gaining more traction with the rise of Zeri and Urgot as a duo carry comp (Especially with Freljord). In this TFT patch 13.15, expect Zaun to be even stronger with the push of these QoL changes making the comp more consistent and easy to play.

  • Zaun: Your first Zaun mod will always be an offensive mod (Robotic Arm, Virulent Bioware) or a hybrid mod (Adaptive Implant, Shimmer Injector)
  • Your second mod will always be a hybrid mod or a defensive mod (Unstable Chemtank, Hextech Exoskeleton). You can’t get double hybrid mods. Your third mod will always be the remaining category
  • Zaun mods can now be removed by benching the modded unit

Void – Rift Herald and Baron Health are improved with better scaling too

Baron and Rift Herald are getting buffs yet again to their health numbers, so if you manage to hit the Void 8 threshold, expect to feel it way better in this patch.

  • Void Rift Herald starting Mana buff: 60/120 ⇒ 80/120
  • Void Rift Herald Base Health: 950 ⇒ 1050
  • Void Rift Herald Stage 3 Health Multiplier: 0.85x ⇒ 0.8x
  • Void Rift Herald Stage 5 Health Multiplier: 1.15x ⇒ 1.2x
  • Void Rift Herald Stage 6+ Health Multiplier: 1.25x ⇒ 1.3x
  • Void Baron Base Health: 1100 ⇒ 1250
  • Void Baron Stage 4 Health Multiplier: 0.85x ⇒ 0.9x
  • Void Baron Stage 6 Health Multiplier: 1x ⇒ 1.15x

Noxus – Early base stats improved but the stacking is drastically nerfed

This buff will aim to slow down the stacking power of Noxus, especially in cases where players got it early in the game and snowball their victory with the extra added power. To be fair, they also improved the base stats for players who got the trait later in the game.

  • Noxus Stat Increase Per Stack: 10% ⇒ 5%
  • Noxus Maximum Stat Increase: 70% ⇒ 35%
  • 3 Noxus Stats: 160 HP/16% AP and AD ⇒ 170 HP/17% AP and AD
  • 6 Noxus Stats: 300 HP/30% AP and AD ⇒ 340 HP/34% AP and AD
  • 9 Noxus Stats: 500 HP/50% AP and AD ⇒ 600 HP/60% AP and AD

Bastion resistances numbers are buffed mainly to help the early game

  • Bastion Armor & MR: 20/50/100/240 ⇒ 25/55/100/240

Improved Threshold for Slayer, more Bleed Health percentage damage for Rogue

Rogues 4 aren’t as threatening despite receiving a substantial amount of buffs in the last patch. Does this change players to play only Rogues? Probably not.

Last but not least, after Slayer and Zed changes in patch 13.14, this trait is not doing too hot. To help Slayers a little, now their amplified damage threshold procs at higher HP.

  • Rogue Bleed Health percentage: 40% ⇒ 50%
  • Rogue jump logic adjusted to more consistently move to the correct target
  • Slayer Amp Threshold: 60% ⇒ 66%

Units buffs and nerfs in TFT Patch 13.15

Cost 1

Starting with the one-cost unit changes in this TFT Patch 13.15. Most of the changes will be buffs to low-performing openers (Demacia), more power to low-cost units, and tweaks/adjustments. So no true nerfs in this patch.

According to the patch notes, the Demacia opener is among the weakest ones in the game, so they are buffing both Kayle and Poppy to compensate for it.

Kayle AD is going up from 25 ⇒ 30, and Poppy Steadfast Hammer Shield is improving a lot from 290/310/330/350 ⇒ 310/330/350/350.

Quality of changes for the abilities of Samira and Cassiopeia.

With these buffs now Cassiopeia and Samira reroll comp is one of the strongest in this Teamfight Tactics patch 13.15 meta.

For a guide to learn which units you need to look up for, general strategy, and the best augments/items, you can check LeDuck’s one here.

Buffs List

  • Cassiopeia Twin Fang cast time reduced
  • If Cassiopeia’s target dies as Twin Fangs is about to fire, she will retarget to the nearest enemy
  • Kayle AD: 25 ⇒ 30
  • Malzahar Bugfix: Malzahar will now consistently pick the best angle to cast
  • Malzahar can now only hit up to 2 units with Call of the Void, down from 3 units
  • Samira Flair cast time reduced
  • Samira Flair is now targeted and can no longer be blocked by other units
  • Poppy Steadfast Hammer Shield: 290/310/330/350 ⇒ 310/330/350/350

Nerfs List

  • Malzahar Call of the Void Damage: 200/300/450 ⇒ 185/280/420

Cost 2

For starters, Swain and Teemo are getting buffs yet again, but this batch of changes may make them two of the best two-cost units to play out. The rest of the buffs are improvements to Galio's three-star damage reduction and Soraka Astral Infusion Damage.

In regards to nerfs, Taliyah mana is getting nerfed (Hurting Double Trouble Taliyah), and Sett/Kassadin ability damage nerfs.

Teemo Multicaster Reroll is making a comeback

Massive buffs to Noxious Trap Damage and QoL changes to his ability targeting are going to bring back Teemo Reroll as a solid choice to play in your ranked games.

Just make sure to keep in mind that the massive buffs to Swain mean he will be much more contested. So be mindful of prioritizing 3* Swain to get the 4* Teemo buff, maybe opting to look for Poppy is a better idea.

For more tips, you can check LeDuck’s Guide on Teemo Reroll.

Buffs List

  • Galio Shield of Durand Damage Reduction: 20/20/25% ⇒ 20/20/30%
  • Soraka Astral Infusion Damage: 115/170/265 ⇒ 125/185/290
  • Swain max Mana buff: 40/80 ⇒ 30/70
  • Swain Demonflare Bonus Health: 450/475/500 ⇒ 450/500/550
  • Swain Demonflare Damage Per Tick: 25/40/60 ⇒ 35/50/75
  • Teemo Noxious Trap Damage: 200/300/465/500 ⇒ 230/350/535/535
  • Teemo Multicasted Noxious Trap mushrooms now prefer to bounce to targets behind the original target

Nerfs List

  • Sett Facebreaker Damage: 200/300/465 ⇒ 180/270/420
  • Taliyah starting Mana nerf: 20/60 ⇒ 0/60

Cost 3

Only one nerf, but a big one nevertheless to this one unit which flew under the radar in Patch 13.13, and then proceeded to utterly dominate the last patch. Yes, we are finally seeing nerfs to Akshan, so he can say goodbye to his reign.

On the other hand, Rek’Sai Furious Bite AD ratio is being massively improved in one to two stars and heals more consistently after taking down units. So if you are a fan of her Void comp, you are going to have a lot of fun with this patch.

Regards the rest of the changes. This TFT patch 13.15 balance to cost three units aren’t as big.

To summarize, Jayce as a unit feels underwhelming so he’s getting buffed (no longer a Piltover bot), and Garen damage improvements to his three-star damage per tick.

Buffs List

  • Garen Judgement Damage Per Tick: 72/75/80% ⇒ 75/75/85%
  • Jayce’s Acceleration Blast nows tracks its target
  • If Jayce’s target dies while he’s beginning his cast of Acceleration Blast, he will retarget to the nearest enemy
  • Rek’Sai Furious Bite AD ratio: 300/300/315% ⇒ 315/315/315%
  • Rek’Sai will now always heal if she dives or if her target dies
  • Rek’Sai now takes damage amp and critical strikes (if applicable) when deciding whether she will dive through her target

Nerfs List

  • Akshan Attack Damage: 65 ⇒ 60

Cost 4

Usually when a set starts a lot of changes tend to be harsh nerfs or over-the-top buffs. As the previous patch didn’t see too many shakeups regarding four cost units, this TFT patch 13.15 is going to focus on making the weaker units able to compete against the stronger ones (Aphelios comes to mind).

There’s one nerf to Urgot though, but this is compensation after his Disdain (Ability) QoL improvements.

Moving into the list of changes.

  • Azir Arise! Damage: 95/140/500 ⇒ 100/150/550
  • Kai’Sa Mana: 40/140 ⇒ 30/125
  • Urgot lockout time between Disdain passive procs have been reduced
  • Urgot max Mana nerf: 30/90 ⇒ 40/100
  • Urgot Disdain AD ratio: 275% ⇒ 250%
  • Urgot Disdain Damage: 50/75/500 ⇒ 40/60/500
  • Gwen now prefers to hit multiple targets with Snip Snip! when possible

Cost 5 units

Buffs to Ahri in the previous patch made her the go-to pick to cap out boards in the late game, this won’t be the case (as much) in patch 13.15. Secondly, the bigger changes are for Ryze and most of his portals effects, which are a ton so expect to read a lot about Ryze in this section.

List of Changes

  • Ahri Essence Thief steal Damage: 115/170/1000 ⇒ 100/150/1000
  • Sion Reanimation Health Decay: 12/8/0% ⇒ 15/10/0%

Legends Augments

A lot of minor adjustments, the most noticeable change is the nerf to the popular It Pays to Learn II augment, which appears in 4-2 when playing the Aurelion Sol Legend. Although the change is kind of minor, it may be enough to stop lobbies being filled with players aiming to go level 9 and capped with 5-cost unit boards.

Regarding buffs, Master Yi Pumping Up III (Prismatic) now it gives more base attack speed. Here’s the full list of changes.

  • Lee Sin On a Roll has been replaced with Bronze Ticket.
  • Pumping Up III Base attack speed 10% ⇒ 12%
  • It Pays To Learn II XP & Gold 18 ⇒ 16
  • It Pays To Learn III XP & Gold 24 ⇒ 20
  • Seeing Double I Gold 1 ⇒ 2
  • Seeing Double II Gold 8 ⇒ 10
  • Seeing Double III Gold 3 ⇒ 4
  • Small Forge Gold 6 ⇒ 4
  • Medium Forge Gold 10 ⇒ 7

Augments

Now into the actual Augments. Let’s start with the ones that snowballed the game too hard, being A Cut Above and Risky Moves.

These augments, if played properly, gave too much of an advantage to players, allowing them to either kickstart your economy with a complete item plus extra gold on takedowns or give too much gold with not much risk, making it unfair for players. That’s why both these augments are receiving nerfs.

  • On a Roll now additionally grants 2 gold
  • Risky Moves Gold: 35 ⇒ 30
  • Medium-End Shopping has been disabled
  • A Cut Above Gold drop chance: 40% ⇒ 33%

The other significant changes are to the Crown Augments. A lot of players were opting too much into Shadow Isles not only for the trait but for the items it gave.

That’s why overperforming crowns are being nerfed, as is the case with Noxus Crown and Shadow Isles giving components instead of complete items. Less popular crowns such as Demacia Crown now grant better items like Guinsoo’s Rageblade, or Piltover that now grants a Giant Slayer.

  • Noxus Crown Grants an Infinity Edge ⇒ Grants a Sparring Gloves
  • Shadow Isles Grants a Statikk Shiv ⇒ Grants a Tear of the Goddess
  • Challenger Crown Grants a Rapid FireCannon ⇒ Grants a Hand of Justice
  • Demacia Crown Grants a Gargoyle’s Stoneplate ⇒ Grants a Guinsoo’s Rageblade
  • Shurima Crown Grants a Bloodthirster ⇒ Grants a Protector’s Vow
  • Slayer Crown Grants a Bloodthirster ⇒ Grants a Titan’s Resolve
  • Juggernaut Crown Grants a Titan’s Resolve ⇒ Grants a Bloodthirster
  • Piltover Crown Grants a Zeke’s Herald ⇒ Grants a Giant Slayer

On Carry’s Augments, Ravenous Hunter is being directly nerfed (less stacks) while Rift Walk got their carry unit nerfed.

One carry augment that got massive buffs in this patch is the Boss, which now grants Sett way more AS and AP per situp, on the other hand though, TFT team preemptively balanced Sett in case the buff was too good.

  • The Boss Sit Up Health Threshold: 40% ⇒ 60%
  • The Boss Health Restored Per Situp: 15% ⇒ 10%
  • The Boss % AS and AP Per Situp (max 4): 35% ⇒ 40%
  • Ravenous Hunter stacking bonuses cap: 50 ⇒ 40

Also, one change that did not make a space in the image was Stable Evolution. This change will make Void comps a little weaker, but, with the buffs in this patch, it should not affect Void performance too much.

Rest of Augment changes.

  • Built Different II Health: 180/240/300/360 ⇒ 200/275/350/425
  • Dedication Units of a trait required: 5 ⇒ 4
  • Multicaster Heart removed
  • Parting Gifts now always prefers to pass completed items instead of components
  • Perfected Repetition also stacks on Multicaster’s repeated casts
  • Perfected Repetition AP Per Stack: 10 ⇒ 5
  • Perfected Repetition Maximum AP: 60 ⇒ 70
  • Three’s A Crowd now only counts unique champions
  • Two Healthy now only counts unique champions
  • Two Healthy Health: 111 ⇒ 100
  • Spectral Supplies Temporarily Disabled
  • Stable Evolution bonus Health: 70 ⇒ 60
  • Stable Evolution Bonus AD and AP: 7% ⇒ 6%

Items

A lot of item changes, well… especially towards Ornn Forge Items and Shimmerscale Items. Most of them are being buffed (Draven’s Axe), nerfed (Eternal Winter), or adjusted (Deathfire Grasp).

List of changes

  • Determined Investor (Shimmerscale) Gold Granted: 10 ⇒ 5
  • Diamond Hands (Shimmerscale) Health: 400 ⇒ 300
  • Mogul’s Mail (Shimmerscale) Base Health Per Stack (max 40 stacks): 8 ⇒ 6
  • Goldmancer’s Staff (Shimmerscale) AP: 20% ⇒ 25%
  • Draven’s Axe (Shimmerscale) AD: 10% ⇒ 15%
  • Needlessly Big Gem (Shimmerscale) Health: 500 ⇒ 600
  • Sniper’s Focus Damage Amp: 8% ⇒ 10% per hex
  • Deathfire Grasp Damage Buff Duration: 8 ⇒ 10 seconds
  • Deathfire Grasp Bonus Damage to Marked Target: 50% ⇒ 35%
  • Eternal Winter Health: 300 ⇒ 200
  • Hullcrusher Armor & MR: 30 ⇒ 40

Small Changes to units and augments.

These are mostly directed to balance out 4 cost units, specifically when their three-star versions. Regarding augments, now Prismatic augments that grant items will also grant a Magnetic Remover to help you get your carries best in slot (BiS) items.

Unit changes

  • Aphelios Chakram AD ratio: 8/8/40% ⇒ 8/8/30%
  • Gwen Snip Snip! Mist Duration: 3/3/6 ⇒ 3/3/5
