Champion Overview:


Trundle is a tanky Dps champion who provides amazing zone control and has a various assortment of ways to buff himself and debuff the enemy. Trundle has a very strong disengage and works VERY WELL in poke comps. In lane trundle is strong against most champions who have to come within auto range.

Skills Overview:


Passive: Passive: Decompose: Whenever an enemy unit near Trundle dies, he heals for 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6% of their maximum health. Range: 1000.
This skill is very strong for dives, baron, and sustaining in lane. Never underestimate the heal this skill brings to the table.

Q: Rabid Bite- Trundle bites his opponent, dealing 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 + (80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120% of attack damage) damage and sapping 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 of their attack damage. Cost: 40 mana. Cooldown: 4 seconds.
This skill is often underestimated, it is an instant auto refresh AND it STEALS AD from the enemy and gives it to you. This is a strong skill in an AD auto oriented top lane.

W: Contaminate- Trundle infects a target location with his curse, gaining 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60% attack speed, 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% movement speed, and 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% crowd control reduction while on it.Cost: 60 mana. Cooldown: 15 seconds.
Bringing the swamp to you. While on this ground you are VERY mobile and VERY hard to lockdown. You also gain a huge amount of attack speed allowing you to fight all the much better on this ground. Do not commit a big fight if you do not have this up.

E: Pillar of Filth- Trundle creates a plagued beacon at a target location, which becomes impassable terrain and slows 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% for all nearby enemy units. Cooldown: 23 / 20 / 17 / 14 / 11 seconds. Cost: 60 mana. Range: 1000.
Its like a rank 1 anivia wall but bulkier and it slows, this skill is VERY IMPORTANT to learn to use and is core to learning how to play trundle well. This skill allows you to lock passage ways, have sight of an area, or set up for a gank.

R: Agony- Trundle immediately steals 100 / 175 / 250 (+0.6 per ability power) of his target's health and 15 / 20 / 25% of their armor and magic resistance. Over the next six seconds the amount of health, armor, and magic resistance stolen is doubled. Cooldown: 80 / 70 / 60 seconds. Cost: 75 mana. Range: 700.
A DOT effect that heals you as well as STEALING a % of a targets armor and MR. I used to use this skill on the enemy carries before I realized how much armor and mr you got. Ulting a tank will give you about 50 armor and MR (at the start it goes to about 100) AS WELL AS taking that amount away from the tank!

Easy

Yorick (Sustain off his ghouls, even if you are unable to kill him you should not die either.), Lee Sin (You steal stats he needs and you can win in a direct fight), Riven (The AD steal on riven early is MAJOR, you get a huge advantage over her early game, USE IT!), Darius (You have a better trade earlier on, and you have a passive to sustain you, beware of dunks]] , and Irelia (You can out trade her and you sustain decently enough to keep up with her to force trades).
Hard

Kayle, Teemo, Kennen, Nidalee (Ranged and kite), Rumble (The stats you steal do not matter), and Warwick (His damage comes from attack speed and his passive).

Playing AS/VS:

As:
  • You can use your pillar as a scouting tool if you are worried an enemy is in a brush
  • Ultimate the champion who can give you the most armor/MR for a fight
  • Try and get you Q off on as many enemies as possible as the debuff is longer then the CD.
Vs:
  • Kite trundle.
  • Do not get caught in the position where his pillar could trap you.
  • Remember trundles passive before you try and trade a kill for a kill. If you die before him betting on a DoT make sure it will finish him after the heal.

Big Item Choices::


Trinity Force- All good stats for you

Wit's End- Hit stronger!

Frozen Heart- More Debuffs, armor and CD is helpful.

Force of Nature- Mobility is nice

Spirit Visage- Increases passive heal makes you more durable in teamfights.

Randuin's Omen- Lets you stick to a target trying to kite you.

Maw of Malmortius- Strong vs AP lanes.

Bloodthirster-Well if your team needs more damage.

Gametypes:

SoloQ:

Trundle is considered a "Troll" champion, so your team probably will not trust you to play him. Trundle does not have the ability to hard carry and may not be the best choice here. He can still win most lanes and have a strong early though.
Ranked 5s:

Trundle is allowed the full use of his kit here. Trundles pillar will be useful in coordinated plays. The ultimate will help on specific targets, the Q will be useful for debuffing the enemies. Etc. Trundle works amazingly in a poke comp, so if you want to be at your strongest tell your team to pick around that.

Conclusion:

The intention of this series is not as a "Build guide" or a "play guide", these are more like facts you should know about the champion. These are to inspire people to think of new champion possibilities they might not have thought of or to help a new player with the champion. I do not list runes masteries or a set build ( I give a kind of recommended items) in here due to the fact I want people to think of that for themselves and try new things.
