she is very similar to lux with shield/root and opposed at the same time by the fact she play very close to her target for a mage .
She is really hard to kill so if you want a resilient mage morgana is the best , she handle 1vs2 like nobody , she support her team well while doing nice dmg .
but most of the time you will have less or just a bit more kills than death and a lot of assist , its not say a malzahar .

Morgana is so powerful it's not even funny. I do not think she is a useful support. She has a shield and snares, but that doesn't mean she isn't meant for damage. I personally play her as offensively as the game will allow, and on ocassion shielding myself or an ally if necessary.
She is almost unrivaled in potential power (Malzahar, Veigar, Anivia, a few others). Any snare is great, AoE provides for great farming, the shield is very useful (blocks all spells, but does not block basic attacks), and her ult is probably stronger than any other. The AoE initial blast deals 350(+100% AP) and the second hit deals another 350(+100% AP) and snares all enemies still in range.
In my eyes, you are a fool to play her as support. Although you can support your team while ripping the enemies to shreds.

Beats me. I've played her a couple times(pre and post nerfs) and all I know is, she is not for me. It's also very rare to see her nowadays and even rarer to see someone play her at least half decently, even though so many players claim how awesome she is. I don't know if it's because of all the nerfs that she's had or what, but I would say she is kind of UP right now.

She's solid, but she has issues against Banshee's Veil like a good caster should.
Her stun is strong, passive makes her lane well, soil great for farming.
Shield is an excellent support/anti-cc skill.
Ultimate is great for team fights if used properly.

if you aim well your root and is fast on shield you carry your team well but you have to make sure your mates take down spell shield because you have no trash spell .
the cool thing is that you counter mages so if you face some epicly fed mage (for me it was a 9/0 kassadin) its so fun how you can kill him so easily , usualy they rely on escape like blink and your root make him unable to use it and your shield protect you from his CC and dmg :)
