Good morning everyone! Last year I was funneling between silver 3 and 5 then went into my series 4 provisionals went 8-2 and got tossed into the wonder of bronze 3. No idea how! Granted it is done, and so now I have to work my way out of it. It has been an amusing and frustrating journey so far. I once went 6/0/6 and my team lost 35 to 12 kills in 30 minutes. Some games are just a loss. I had a bot lane feed 30 plus kills in 30 minutes once. I didn't know it was humanly possible to do that.

However, I am starting this thread for an awesome discussion on fun Mid lane Mages or ranged champs which can help me carry and get out of Bronze and back into silver. Currently my top K/D/A are with Zilean (yep the timekeeper himself has crazy damage), Malzahar, Ziggs (I am not great, but decent), Veigar, and Nidalee. It is nearly impossible to carry as Orianna at this level or any champ that requires team coordination to succeed at some level. I went 14/9/6 as Veigar and was 7/1/3 at one point, but a 15 kill Lucian is tough to take down when he focuses you in team fights.

So which ranged champs do you think would make my journey just a bit easier, I have heard for carrying TF and Ahri would be good champs to learn. I struggle with melee, but would love to hear what Ranged AP Champs would make this journey easier.

Here are a few that could do the trick :
LeBlanc
Lissandra
Tristana
Syndra

The list would be longer if you didn't demand for Ranged AP midlaners. I can explain why I suggest each champion if you want me to.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I AM NOT AFFECTED BY ELOHELL. NOOBS AND TROLLS NEVER RUIN MY RANKED GAMES.
I DON'T GET STUCK AND I NEVER GET ONLY 2LP FOR A WIN.

I AM UNRANKED.

I can see LeBlanc. Tristana is like Veigar in that she is a one trick pony. Why her over Veig? Syndra I have heard the reverse about, that her lack of mobility prevents her from carrying a game. Lissandra is not a solo queue champ. Her damage is not enough to win duels, and she requires teammates to be able to follow up for kills. She is a great champ if you have good communication. You don't see great communication until you get to Gold.

Akali is not ranged, and therefore I am leery of attempting to play her. I have seen her carry games though.

Imo your best choices are Ziggs, Orianna, Ahri, Katarina, Kassadin and Gragas :p They are pretty easy to play when you have played about 10(?) normals. And they can snowball pretty hard.

Katarina, Kassadin and Gragas are melee champs so I don't feel like I could handle them well. Ziggs is fairly easy, and I have him in my rotation. I put Orianna in the same category as Lissandra a great champ for team play. I know Orianna does a bit more damage, but doesn't every time I play her I feel like I do with lissandra someone has to follow up! Ahri, I was told to try her out, so you don't think the nerf hurt her that much?

So...Orianna, who can hard initiate with her ult if she can place her Q properly, is too team dependent....but Zilean, who has no hard CC and only has one skill that deals damage which requires allies to lock a squishy target for it to be useful (because putting time bombs on their front line won't do anything if they have any level of intelligence), isn't?

your average kda with him isn't positive and that's pretty telling.

don't get me wrong, Zilean has the potential for strong damage, but he's even more of an eggs in one basket champion than Nidalee is. >.>

The multiplier on Zileans Bombs are 90 percent AP both on the single target and double target. They are a non-skill shot attack that you can stack on multiple champs repeatedly. A hard initiation requires a more coordinated response from your team than dropping bombs and running in circles. Players in solo queue bronze always focus the lowest health subject even if he isn't the guy you want to focus. Bombs are essentially a way of either securing kills or ensuring your team has done enough damage before the fight starts.

Having a champ with a great intiation is worthless if your team doesn't follow up which is why Lissandra is tough to play at my level.

Actually it means nothing, Zilean is an assist machine. Because the bombs are aoe you pick up significantly more assists than kills. Even as a mid laner my best K/d/a game was 11/4/15, but there are games where I go 3/7/22 as a middle lane because my bomb goes off everyone focuses, and place a bomb on someone else instead of going for the kill or I feed my jungler. Plus half my games are Zilean support so getting more than 3 kills is tough.

Also my k/d/a from season 3 was awful. I have slowly improved it, but it's still pretty bad. One of the biggest things to learn for me is to not press, and when to get out of a team fight.

Not really it's easier to hit repeatable Bombs than to hit one spear, but I agree with you. The difference is Zileans ult can turn what they thought was a 4 on 5 into a 5 on 5 again.

His(her?) options are actually pretty solid. Since coordination and communication is not too great in Bronze to Silver divisions, you can use this to your advantage. AP Tristana has the capacity to 100 -> 0 a champion pretty quickly, then Rocket Jump away to safety. This is normally doable since the positioning of the AP and AD carry won't be too good (let's just say it isn't) and the rest of the team will chase you after you've jumped away. The same with LeBlanc. With Syndra, she deals very good damage and if you can determine when it is better to cast your Scatter the Weak, pre or post Unleashed Power to either get a secured stun kill, or stun the whole team can change team fights.

Just stick with 1 or 2 champs to get out of that division. I was able to get out of my Silver rut by just playing purely AP Kog'Maw.

Good luck!
Check out my guide. AP Kog all the way!
