If youu feel that Ashe should be played differently, you can play Ashe like that. This works for me, so I am trying to teach people how i play Ashe. In addition, there are people at lower levels that can't use masteries and runes, so my guide shouldn't 'suck' just because my runes and masteries suck.

The problem is that you don't know how to play Ashe at all. So you teaching people how you play Ashe is like me teaching mechanical engineering - I don't know **** about it.

Boots aren't a starting item - Doran's Blade is the 99% start choice. Berserker's Greaves are not the priority item to buy when you recall - B. F. Sword or Pickaxe/ Vampiric Scepter are.

Core items are Bloodthirster, Zeal/ Phantom Dancer/ Statikk Shiv and Last Whisper.

Infinity Edge is also a core item, but usually purchased later (though some purchase it first instead of Bloodthirster, depending on how well you are doing in the game).

Defensive items are Guardian Angel, Banshee's Veil in addition to Randuin's Omen (and these two choices are more common picks than Randuin's Omen).

Never buy Doran's Ring or catalyst the protector on Ashe unless you want to get to Bronze V or it's a troll game and no one gives a ****.

You max W by level 9, Q by 13, R by 16 and E by 18.

I'd start on your runes and masteries too, but cba - it's just 99% wrong.

We weren't joking when we said your guide is bad.

trash. You know the core ad items? that 9000 gold for shiv, hurri, and tf? that gives you a grand total of 30 bonus AD. GL running around at 40 minutes and level 18 with 140 attack damage.

I see this mistake so much. you're an attack damage carry, build some damn attack damage

Isn't it better to open up a blog or forum post in these cases?
I mean I don't think you can flat out tell someone to not share their opinions but making a guide pre 30 really doesnt make a lot of sense when you don't even have all masteries to try your idea.
I'm no good at adc but I could still say what was covered in this guide, no offense there because it was actually written quite nicely concerning explanation.
Anyway maybe it would be better to post this stuff on new player help and ask for constructive critic

Tl,dr Vynertje wasnt rude only stating the obvious, maybe a bit short but it was true nonetheless. Opinion sharing and stuff pre 30 just doesnt work in own guides in my opinion. It sure does in comments, blogs, forum posts etc tho :)

Thank you for explaining my point Sirell, if I'm ever going to write a guide on guide writing (still got one planned soon™) I'll be sure to use that comparison. I never meant to be rude (it's blunt indeed, but that shouldn't be so big of a deal) and just stated my opinion. I don't think it should be this big of a deal but if I seriously offended someone by this simple statement I'll apologize.

I get the impression you missed my point. There's a huge amount of bias there and it seems that what you think we're doing is '[beating down and telling new players they are bad]' when this really isn't the case (at least, not all the time, especially in recent times).

Let me draw a comparison. I know nothing about physics (or close enough that what I know is negligible or wrong). If I then wrote a book to teach others on physics and published it, I can guarantee you that someone along the way will say, "You know nothing about physics, you shouldn't write about it.", maybe other feedback will include "You should read up on it and then write again when you know what you are talking about."

Now, I don't get why that would be rude at all - it's completely true and there is absolutely no offence given nor intended.

Vyn touched a nerve of yours and wasn't even sounding like an *** about it. Please point to me exactly where the disrespect comes in:

Please get level 30 first before writing any guides.

To me, all this implies is that the person doesn't have enough experience on the game and shouldn't be writing guides until he gets a certain experience threshold (i.e. level 30 - and this isn't even elitist). How you thought he was 'being an ***' seems a bit exaggerated, imo. Maybe you thought Vyn was being rude in the past, but in this case, I think you may have read a bit too deeply.

Also, Vyn and my opinion that guides should be to teach and that there should be a certain criteria met before writing guides isn't an unreasonable one to make. Conversely, couldn't you have disagreed with Vyn and I without sounding so rude? Because that's damn well what you did, Khazem.

Have to agree with Khazem on this one, in fact I'm pretty sure I already told vynertje before that telling people they're not good enough to make a guide on this website is not cool. Note that mentioning the fact that someone is inexperienced - in a respectful manner - is an entirely different story; it's a fair point to make as long as you're not being rude for no good reason whatsoever.

I just feel sorry for all the new players coming to this website who are trying to share their opinions and builds only to get beat down and told they're bad by experienced players.

Partially agree. I agree up to the point where the author is "I tried it and it worked and I don't care about efficiency." in cases such as not going LW on an ADC.

You can get constructive criticism without making a guide.

If you want to learn how to play, there's the mentoring thread and a general help thread.

The place of the guide is to teach others (though constructive criticism works here also). I think he has every right to tell someone not to write a guide. In fact, it's probably one of the more helpful things in letting the guide-writer know where he stands in relation to everything.

If there's some level 18 newbie trying to teach me how to play Ashe and doesn't even know about maxing abilities first, damn right I'm going to tell them not to write guide, but use them instead.

But hey, if you truly believe that being an *** about it and just telling them to stop making guides is the right thing to do, then I also don't have the right to tell you not to. I can only kindly suggest that you don't and try to be helpful (in a nice way) instead.

I just feel sorry for all the new players coming to this website who are trying to share their opinions and builds only to get beat down and told they're bad by experienced players.

That's not all guides are good for. I made my first guide when I was on EUNE lvl 21, or something, I got a lot of constructive criticism, learned a lot and improved my own game (somewhat) and my guide eventually took up the #1 spot.

That's not essentially why guides are around but I do get your point. I wouldn't advise any low level player to write a "guide" per se but a "this is what I'm doing and why" it's definitely a solid approach.
