bigass spider
I'm pretty excited about this, Neith's started moving around a lot more. She seems to particularly dislike the flash on the camera, after this first picture she darted away to the opposite side of the aquarium. Wolf Spiders have extremely good vision and are nocturnal (note how their eyes glow like a cat's when bright lights hit them). She pretty much stands perfectly still whenever anyone approaches, though it's damn impressive when she starts walking around. I've noticed that she stands around cleaning her feet and chelicerae pretty regularly as well.
Also I got a very blurry picture (without the flash) of her drinking water off the chunk of rose quartz in the aquarium after I'd sprayed everything down.

though I get the impression hardly anyone thinks this is as cool as I think it is ;-;
Cool photo, I hate spiders dearly but when contained I find them to be extremely exquisite creatures. Does she have a favourite food as of now?

I think she's cool Amanda, but I still am very frightened by spiders. Just the thought of them on the ceiling, dropping down into my hair... or walking in my house and having one scuttle over my feet... it's just unpleasant.
well, I don't really mind spiders much...and wolf spiders, while they can get kinda big, are completely harmless.
My brother's girlfriend wanted to kill her when I noticed her crawling around on their floor, so I decided to just take her home with me....trying to find an aquarium (the next morning) and such was a bit of a pain. At the first pet store I went to no one even asked me if I wanted help, so I wandered around for quite a while looking for a mesh lid for an aquarium less than half the size I ended up getting. When I couldn't find anything I went to the other one in town, where three people asked me if I needed help before I even got to the section I was looking for. The woman in the tarantula/lizard section was very helpful, though I suspect she had no idea how big of a spider I was talking about, because she sold me the smallest crickets they had.
@iPod She hasn't eaten anything yet that I have seen (though this means nothing as Wolf Spiders are nocturnal), but I haven't noticed the crickets I put in there yesterday around as of today. She totally ignored the boxelder bug I caught and put in there this morning. I've definitely seen her drinking water more than once though and she seems to be constantly cleaning her feet as well.
if anyone wants to see more pictures, I'm posting them here to avoid freaking out my Facebook friends who dislike spiders.

Could it be that I also spotted multiple Mowen's on that picture? (sorry, felt like at least someone had to make that joke)
nog even kort samengevat: een lampje is voor dove mensen, een ratelapparaat voor blinden. het mooiste is natuurlijk een combinatie van beide: een lampje met een ratelapparaat, voor het geval er iemand langskomt die blind én doof is.
My friend send me a collage of some snaps I've sent her with a message:
"Thanks to my great observational skills I have noticed that you might have raging and chronic diarrhea. Please seek help or try sending some pictures from outside (or anywhere else but your bathroom).
Love
me"
EDIT: And judging by the shirt these are snaps sent on the same day. She has got (according to snapchat) ~700 snaps from me thus far.

I read this theory that spiders are aliens and most people fear them because they don't look like us, they're outsiders. I was too creeped out by the below pictures to actually look at them all. The images made me very uncomfortable.

Not saying spiders are aliens, but it's a fun theory easily disproved by science (DNA etc).
