Introduction
Hey there, you curious Lissandra lover! I am Jochnes, playing League of Legends over 6 years now! Lissandra is a champion that I always enjoy playing when she is meta and I picked her up a while ago again. Click Here if you are only interested in gameplay related tips with short video clips! |
Pros
+ CC + Push and Roam + Safe from ganks + high range engage Lissandra can push lane very safe at any point in game with Ice Shard. Her roams are insane and teamfight's are her biggest strength with the amount of CC and catch-potential she provides on such a high range with Glacial Path. |
Cons
- Hard lane - Reliant on follow-up - obvious engage Laning can be very hard if you don't manage to push instantly. Glacial Path is an obvious engage and Cleanse Quicksilver Sash Mikael's Blessing are hard-counters. |
|
Doran's Ring Doran's Ring gives insane Mana sustain when killing minions and also help with last hitting due to it's 15 AP and 5 on-hit dmg against minions. Never buy 2 of them thought, since it's passive is unique! |
|
Sorcerer's Shoes Increases your damage against champions drasticly. When you are going for lyandri's Anguish you should definitly buy Sorcerer's Shoes for the exponentially increasing damage bonus. With Sorcerer's Shoes you deal 11,6% more magic damage against enemies with 34 Magic Resistance. |
|
Ionian Boots of Lucidity The Ability Haste has high value on Lissandra and the low cost allow you to get your core items faster. Also the Ability Hast on summoner spells is very strong as you are palying Flash and Teleport which have really high cooldowns. |
|
Liandry's Anguish It helps on wave clear with it's burn effect and also gives a lot of Ability Haste, that will be really important since there are not too many sources that mages can get it from. Also empower's the flat magic pen from Sorcerer's Shoes with it's % magic resistence reduction. |
|
Everfrost It has one of the best stat lines from all of the Mythic mage items and is really strong for early game. You can combo it with Glacial Path by using Everfrost before reactivating Glacial Path to instantly root them in place. Following up wiht Frozen Tomb and Ring of Frost makes uo for a great CC combo. |
|
Rod of Ages RIP |
|
Void Staff Only buy it Lissandra if there is a lot of magic resistence on the enemy team and if you have bought Sorcerer's Shoes. |
|
Zhonya's Hourglass Seeker's Armguard can be build against physical damage dealing assasins though you don't need to rush for Zhonya's Hourglass! Finish it later on but for early and mid-game the stacked up 45 armor should be enough. On Lissandra the active is always useful to stall time and wait for backup from your team after having used all your spells. Especially the combination of Frozen Tomb and Zhonya's Hourglass makes it extremly strong as you can't be focused by the enemies. |
|
Banshee's Veil It's a good buy against a lot of magic damage and can protect you from getting caught before being able to use Zhonya's Hourglass or Frozen Tomb. If you need early magic resistence you can buy Verdant Barrier and finish it later. |
|
Abyssal Mask Against a lot of magic damage in the enemy team you can build this as 4th or 5h item. It increases the dmg beaing delt to targets that have been immobilized by you for the next 4 seconds by 10%. It's really strong on Lissandra as you have multiple ways to CC multiple enemies. |
|
Zeke's Convergence You bound with an ally and he will deal bonus on-hit damage to any target that was immobilized by you in the last 4 seconds. This damage has an AP and HP scaling now and could be a good fit for Lissandra. Try it out and tell me how you like it :D |
Stay as close as possible to the enemy minions so you can reach your opponent!
From level 5 on you will only need 2 Ice Shard's to kill the caster minion's!
You can also use Glacial Path and Ring of Frost for wave clear to get a faster push and roam on another lane! Be careful though as it leaves you open with no deffense to ganks or all-ins from your opponent!
When reaching level 6 you can always think about all-ins on your opponent, try to use a lot of auto attacks between your spells as they will increase your combo damage!
In later stages of game it's harder to get off so many auto attacks though because they won't do a lot of dmg and just make you stand still for nothing.
Also think about using Frozen Tomb on yourself instead, if the enemy has Cleanse he would be uneffected by the stun and the healing gained from self casting it is pretty good. When going for self-cast Frozen Tomb it's the best moment to do it as your enemy uses a high impact spell like Command: Shockwave as you will dodge it and still slow the enemy so he can't run away from you, that's probably a won trade!
Use Glacial Path to get over big walls, you can already reactivate it when being in middle of the wall as it will teleport you outside of it. By that you can get a much higher range on it or just safe time and be faster where you want to be!
A combination of Glacial Path Flash Ring of Frost Ice Shard and Frozen Tomb will suprise the enemy and give very low reaction time for counter play! It's up to your decision making if you should cast Frozen Tomb on yourself or and enemy!
Casting it on yourself is probably better for this combo in late game, because it takes less times since self cats Frozen Tomb has no cats time but when using it on an enemy it does! In Early and Mid game though you won't die instanly and it's more important that you stun the main carry of enemy team!
Another combo I love to pull of is the (I just gave it a name right now) "Back Slide Shard"!
1. Use Glacial Path behind you and run into the enemy team
2. Use Ice Shard followed by Ring of Frost when you get close to them, or if they engage on you
3. Reactivate Glacial Path instantly so they won't catch you, and you're out!
Use Glacial Path as a damaging ability if needed, like when clearing waves but on champions, you can also activate it then after you hit the enemy. By that you get the damage and the jump!
Lissandra's late game is about catching enemies and deciding teamfights by her big AOE CC spells! Some enemies take Cleanse and buy Quicksilver Sash or Mikael's Blessing to counter your CC and also Mercury's Treads to make your CC less powerful.
Though if you cast Frozen Tomb on yourself in the middle of the enemy team, they will be slowed by 70% while standing in an area around you. The effects from their items won't protect them from that since the slow always gets applied onto them again, Mercury's Treads only lower the duration not the strength of a slow. You can also cast Frozen Tomb on an enemy in the middle of his team]] and get the same effct!
Try to get as many spell casts out as possible before going into Frozen Tomb self-cast or Zhonya's Hourglass while stalling out the teamfight. For example: Glacial Path in the enemy team, use Ice Shard and Ring of Frost then Frozen Tomb yourself, use Ice Shard again and then use Zhonya's Hourglass. After that you will have your back again!
[EDIT 8.23] The damages loss on Ring of Frost and Frozen Tomb and gain of Iceborn Subjugation changes Lissandras playstyle a little bit. Even thoug before she already wasn't a high damage dealer and more of a supportive enage Mage, that's now even more so. Lissandra needs to rely on her team to get kills while she is in the middle of a fight, surviving with Aftershock Frozen Tomb and Zhonya's Hourglass and using her crowd control to set up kills. If played out correctly the whole changes are huge buffs and it's very important now to skill Glacial Path secondary! Since the damage gain of skillpoints into Ring of Frost got a big nerf and the travel speed of Glacial Path was increased so it's more likely to being able to deal damage.
If you have any questions about the changes that came with this patch, feel free to ask!
I am streaming a lot from 8.13 on, very hyped for Orianna's buffs :D
