Hey, just read through your comment, thanks for the feedback!

As I mentioned quite heavily on the guide, this is not a traditional burst Morgana mid guide. This guide focuses on making Morgana a tanky frontliner that uses heavy CC to control teamfights. To that end, Rylai's Crystal Scepter is actually a pretty decent choice for her. Also due to the reason that this is not a burst Morgana playstyle, there is no Rabadon's Deathcap in this build.

Let me go into more detail against the match-ups you've brought up. Also keep in mind that these match-up ratings are more heavily based on the laning phase, but I have stated if a champion's teamfight influence affects their score, such as my rating for Orianna.

1) Your point about Katarina holds some truth. She does have spammable, free-cost abilities to help her with farming, but this does not equate to her having a relaxed time against your push whilst laning. Much like many other assassins, Katarina really shines when she snowballs out of control. The main source for her snowballing is either getting a lot of kills in her lane, or roaming for easy clean-up kills in other lanes. By pushing her constantly, you can deny her a chance to roam. If she does end up roaming regardless, you can communicate with your team to prevent her from grabbing easy kills. If you can do this effectively, she will both lose EXP, and her turret very early on.

2) I disagree with your statement on Kassadin having free farm with his Nether Blade since it is on a 7 second cooldown, this does not mean he can spam the ability and get farm without issue. Kassadin's damage is negligible all the way until the late-game. Since this build gives you innate tankiness, you will never have any problems against Kassadin in lane. Also, a champions mobility does not mean you can never land skillshots on them. Kassadin's Riftwalk has a 6 second cooldown on level 6, meaning that if you can bait his ultimate you have 6 seconds to cast a full Soul Shackles on him, which has a duration of 3 seconds before the stun is applied.

3) At this point I am really unsure weather or not you actually read what I wrote for the champions. I have stated that Vladimir has a good waveclear and at no point did I say "you can out sustain Vladimir". Furthermore, Vladimir does not rank low on the scale, but his new kit makes him fair to play against as you can see when he will go aggressive with his Q and his E has a cast time so you can hide behind minions to not take damage from it.

4) LeBlanc is not as easy of a match-up as you might think. Her burst is incredibly high even on the earlier stages of the game. And once she hits level 6, she becomes a nightmare. As Morgana you will never max your Black Shield first, so there is no real way for you to mitigate her damage if she is playing aggressive. And a good LeBlanc player will always be aggressive. Since lack of mobility is an issue for Morgana, there isn't much you can do but dodge LeBlanc's chains, which can be done with Black Shield, but as I stated in the guide, she can just cast a second chain thanks to her ultimate if you were able to block the first.

Thanks for the feedback!

Down-voted this author has either played vs terrible players or theory crafted this match ups. But before I cover that, lets talk about items Rylias is a terrible item on Morgana, buy that item on Singed or Swain, Also no Deathcap are you mad? you're an AP Carry Morgana has MASSIVE RATIOS on her Q and R. Now let me talk about the match ups.

1. Katarina - Kat is manaless caster she can farm under turret she can farm in that lane and kill you since your ult is dealyed CC. She should be an 8 or 10
2. Kassadin - This should be a 10 he is hard counter to Morgana, he can farm easily with his W under his turret and he loves a free farm lane, further more he Riftwalk out of your soul shackles and even if you land a bind on him he will keep jumping on you again and again.
3. Vladimir - he counters Morgana too, after he puts enough points into his E and Q he can out sustain and out push you furthermore you don't have enough burst to kill him.
4. Leblanc - this should be a 4 at best, you don't even need to look at her just press W and back off she can't last hit at her turret to save her soul, your E is very good against her burst if she uses herW to clear the wave you can easily throw a Q and chunk her massively.

Hey! Just read your feedback, thanks a lot! I'll try to provide some more detailed reasoning as to why I picked the items and masteries you mentioned:

I mainly pick Liandry's Torment because of its passive against frontline champions that have a large HP pool and mid/high magic resist. If you can land a Dark Binding followed by a Tormented Shadow this really shreds their health quite a bit since the item's passive is doubled when the enemy is CC'd. The double damage is also triggered by Rylai's Crystal Scepter. It is still a go-to item for me if the enemy team has a lot of tanky champions, and they usually do nowadays ^_^

I haven't brought it up in the guide, but I have observed Rod of Ages to have kind of a psychological effect on the enemy midlaner when I buy it. Their attempt on trying to harass you out of lane plummets quite significantly once you get the said item. It probably happens because of the extra HP they have to chunk through to force you back, along with the sustain of the item's passive. It might still be a good idea to rush Zhonya's Hourglass against opponents like Zed or Fizz. The reason I gave might sound a bit far fetched to include it in the build, but it is actually quite evident when you give it a shot.

I somewhat agree with your point about CDR, since shorter cooldowns mean more control over fights with your CC abilities. However, the build in itself has 20 percent cooldown reduction with the new Zhonya's Hourglass and Abyssal Mask. Paired with a blue buff, you already hit 40 percent CDR. I do not find it necessary to include any specific items to add more CDR. The issue of Precision vs Intelligence comes down to whether or not you think that extra 5 percent CDR is really significant. For me, it is less of an issue since you are almost guaranteed to land your Dark Binding if you get a full Soul Shackles on an enemy.

I was quite conflicted about Vampirism myself. I ended up including it for a bit more early sustain whilst laning, but as you said, it might be a better idea to go for Natural Talent instead.

Give it a read and let me know what you think :)

Hey, I've looked through your guide. A lot of this stuff is solid, but some of it is rather questionable.
  • Liandry's Torment this item is just flat out bad on Morgana, and there's no other way to put it, there's no real reason to ever take this, the numbers just don't add up compared to other options.
  • Rod of Ages is an item choice that I find highly questionable for a first item. As Morgana you are poised to take very little damage in trades, and your spells are not spammable, so you don't benefit at all really from ROAs new Passive.
  • Precision When you have a utility mage like Morgana, CDR is important and it adds up fast. Getting to 45% is extremely powerful and makes your skirmish and teamfight ability so much more powerful, to that end Precision is better suited on someone looking for constant kill pressure rather than someone who uses their spells to make plays.
  • Vampirism I'd argue that this Natural Talent is a far superior choice, given your innate spell-vamp means that you don't really need 2% more.
