Hey MissMaw, love the guide, it helped me a lot!
I was wondering, have you tried Fearless as opposed to Insight, as I find the 15% CDR of summoners kind of lacking, compared to the slight survivability Fearless provides. Also, what do you think of Unyielding as opposed to Recovery, as I think it synergizes very well with Stand Behind Me. Of course, those are only minor changes, but I feel like they are slightly more efficient when it comes down to Braum.
Again, thanks a ton for the guide, got Mastery 7 recently thanks to it! :)

Thanks LeeSanSheng :)

Fearless looks good on paper but it's not a very good mastery. The ~10% increased MR/armour isn't bad, but it only lasts 2 seconds and then goes on a long CD. 2 seconds in a fight will go by really fast. Insight on the other hand is always useful, because Braum needs Flash to get out of tough situations and to hard-engage, and more importantly Exhaust is always useful in bot lane fights and make or breaks them. If anything, I'd consider Perseverence to negate poke damage.

Unyielding is actually quite weak. It amplifies only your bonus armour/MR, so not your base armour. Starting the game with about 25ish bonus armour means you'll get a whopping 1.25 armour. It doesn't scale with levels, it only scales with items from that point, meaning eventually once you buy a bunch of armour items, it'll be alright; but until then it's pretty useless. You won't get any armour very quickly either because you need to buy sightstone and boots before you do that. But even later on when you buy, say, an item that gives 60 armour, that'd only equate to 3 extra armour.

Right, didn't know Unyielding doesn't increase the base stats but only the bonus.

I've actually tested Fearless and it's indeed quite weak, which is a shame as it has good potential. Will stick to your mastery page, thanks! :)

This is such a in depth guide, I don't think you could explain braum any better. I think this well help out low elo players greatly.

Great guide, Braum seems to be a really fun support and this guide helped me through a ranked game when it locked me in as a support and I had no other support champions πŸ˜‚ I'm still trash with Braum but this guide helped me be a little less trash so +1πŸ‘Œ

He can be a lot of fun! I remember when he first came out I probably played about 50 games of just him for the following few days πŸ™‚

I've been using your guide for a long time while learning to play Braum and wanted to say thanks! Also had a question about using a Scaling Health seal instead of the flat health, the scaling gives more health mid/late game so would it be comparable to the flat or is the flat hp better since its a bigger jump early game?

So personally I like taking health because it's a good early game stat and it makes your Q do more damage. Scaling health is definitely good too though especially in match-ups vs poke/ranged supports (which are more popular atm).

Hey,

you made a small mistake with your explanation about Knights Vow.

You wrote:

When you're near your partner, the damage he deals to enemies will heal you and the damage they take will be redirected towards the attacker and deal true damage.

But should be actually:

When you're near your partner, the damage he deals to enemies will heal you and 12% of the damage they take will be redirected towards you and deal true damage.

I am not trying to be a smart-*** here, but it was confusing for me at first until a friend explained to me how it really works. I think newbies like me should know about the small but mentionable risk the item brings with it.

That aside, your guide is very very nice and because of you, braum is one of my first support choices by now. I really like the fact that you explained trading a bit, because that is something i have most trouble with.

Thank you for taking your time to do this :)

My mistake, I guess it was a bit confusing to me whenever I wrote that or something, I will fix it now thank you :) it's not being a smart ***, it's pointing out a mistake which is very helpful since it's easy for things to slip in when you're writing a big guide, esp if you edit a lot here and there.

Great guide! It really help me out in my Bronze climbing :) Match ups is full of useful info, abilities are explained well and the guide is formatted amazingly! My only question is that, do you think that sacrificing Face of the Mountain for Eye of the Equinox is worth it?(assuming I have/get Locket)

Thanks for the kind words Stronkplonk :3 I think they're both good, perhaps FoTM is a bit better because you get the shield and also Ruby Sightstone which gives you a lot of HP and the item active CDR :)

No worries :) Yeah, I had some game testing between FotM and EotE and I personally think that FotM is a better item (at least for my elo ahah) since I tend to build so much health. Thanks for the reply! :D

Wouldnt you benefit a lot more with attack speed runes over ad runes?
I mean because of passive with stun and extra damage.

it's an option but I personally prefer AD or full tank.

  • Matchup section is standard,
  • Runes make sense to me, I like building armor quints on many people.
  • Matchup section is fine, but perhaps some screenshots of how ultimate should be positioned in different circumstances, some people enjoy the examples and it allows them to better judge when to ult.
  • Items look fine so far, maybe mention that LCS supports often rush Ruby Sightstone due to the fact that it also lowers totem cooldowns, ALSO Redemption is OP and imo should always be built on support
  • Roaming section is well thought out and useful, timing section is outdated, dragons and baron are automatically timed.
  • Also I think you could benefit from more screenshots/visuals in the gameplay section, there are maybe 4 sections that are just heading and text, screenshots add variety!
  • Guide ends pretty abruptly, not sure what to add but add something to make that ending seem more natural

Overall I would give this guide an 8/10, (the only 10 ever is Haunting the Jungle). Fixing these issues puts this guide at an 9/10 (mainly the screenshots and visuals).

Visually, this guide looks pretty good! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind words, seiren! β™₯

Recovery on the other hand, although not particularly strong itself, is more useful in the early game since it'll help you deal with poke.

I'll be sure to include better explanations in the guide soonβ„’, as I'm working on changing the guide up visually and updating it with all the season 7 changes so stay tuned :)

Hey, since Braum's E gives a 10% movespeed boost, is it optimal to E at fountain to get back to lane faster? Thanks for the guide :)

Hey, just an update, thanks to your guide (E between adc and opp adc in lane and more) I was able to do rly well. I went 1/7/47! I'm mastery level 3 on Braum on 2 accounts (one has been banned) and I feel more confident with Braum now, especially knowing about his 'bread and butter' aka all skills and when to utilise them! I went 1/7/47 as Braum in a 70min game and it felt great! Pls be proud of me senpai
