Introduction

"We have many names."

"In the West, I am Ina to his Ani", said Lamb. "In the East, Farya to his Wolyo. But we are Kindred everywhere. I am always Lamb to Wolf, and he is always Wolf to Lamb."

Hi everyone,

I have already write this guide in french here :
http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/7-15-kindred-w-l-arya-guide-french-updated-497927

To introduce myself, my name in game is Wølƒarya and I'm actually Silver but began in season 1. I am a veteran on this game and have a lot of game knowledge in addition to (not sure how to translate this here)

First of all, I made this guide due to a passion for the champion and I really want to help people who want to play Kindred but don't know how to learn her.
Kindred has undergone many changes since their release and most players have been trying to play them as they were accustomed to, however have found themselves stuck in the mud, and having a hard time clearing the jungle or staying alive during the game.

To understand the differences between old Kindred and new, you have to understand before that Kindred could shape the jungle to her liking as she was very powerful. But today to play Kindred optimally you must adapt your playstyle to the new jungle and become one with the jungle.

What changed with the rework and with patch after it ?

____________

What does the rework really change ?

All in all, Kindred becomes a Hypercarry. Kindred finds themselves weak in early as well as mid game to end up being considerably good in late.

Dance of Arrows gives the ability to clear jungle early monsters quickly thanks to the AS but the importance is mostly late which allows Kindred to get off more damage with AS.

Wolf's Frenzy became very interesting because thanks to the magical damage, the blue buff and some other jungle monsters having a negative resistance to magical damage, lead way to faster clears. In the end, the red buff will be slightly slower to clear and blue faster than before. Wolf gives an advantage to get vision without venturing there. You need to know Wolf's Frenzy is don't really deal dmg in early/mid game, but in late game you will deal a lot dmg against tanks.

Mounting Dread: Is now an execution skill and the best damage deal from Kindred with "Claws of the dead". Notice that you will not deal dmg without crit items.

Pro and cons

Pro :

Great kite potential thanks to unique mobility with Dance of Arrows and a 50% slow with Wolf's Frenzy

Dance of Arrows Allows to jump through certain walls

Insane damage with the Mark of the Kindred stack and Mounting Dread that inflicts physical damage of a rising X value plus 5% of the target's max health.
Thanks to this, the more tanky enemies will suffer from your ascent as the game progresses.

The Mark of the Kindred can infinitely stack.

Ability to duel virtually all champions in early game.
The ultimate Lamb's Respite can save an ally and has a strategic aspect in teamfights as a dual power in 1v1 or 1v2 altering several Kindred factors like the ability to temporize, outburst, reset cd, and d 'other. (also confused here)

Lamb's Respite being a utility skill it remains useful even if you're behind in the game

You can not be killed with Lamb's Respite

Kindred has a kit that allows her to very easily steal the drake or the baron.
In addition it is possible to bait the smite of the enemy jungler with Lamb's Respite

KINDRED NEVER BAN !!! HELL YEAAAH

Cons :

Kindred is relatively weak in resistances and health.
When Lamb's Respite is on CD, it's easy to kill Kindred.
Having a very important potential, she is the type "Feast or Famine" ie she will be either a dominant beast or she will suffer throughout the rest of the game if she dies in early.

Relatively hard to play and the first 10 minutes of play are very decisive for you.

Kindred does not fit all team comps (It takes a minimum tank in a team).

The ultimate Lamb's Respite is capable of rescuing one or more enemies if used incorrectly.

Bonus :

The Mark of the Kindred is visible to all enemies, some consider this point to be a defect and so Kindred becomes easily predictable in its jungle clear.
But it's relatively false , in fact what many beginners tend to do is fold their jungle path according to marks. However it should not function as such, I would give more details in the chapter on jungle path but keep in mind that marks have to come to you and not the other way around.

It is important to recover the marks but you will see that with a specific route and that if you adopt a precise way of playing, you will be invisible in the jungle and you will be able to recover the marks without falling behind the enemy jungler.

PS: Obviously if the enemy jungler dominates and managed to have 1 timing ahead of you, it will be difficult to get ahead.

Runes

Simply I'm gonna give you only one set of runes because there are of course other set according to the team in front.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage: AD marks are to be taken by default on Kindred.
Greater Mark of Lethality: A good alternative against the less resistant team.

Greater Seal of Armor: Standard runes for all jungle, allows to survive in jungle and useful in many situations.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: Standard runes for all jungle, allows to survive in jungle and useful in many situations.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed: Attack Speed is very important for Kindred because it's part of the damage. As an adc and the importance of the AS for Kindred it seems wise to take this kind of Quintessence, not? ;)

Masteries

There are two types of pages for Kindred, one is to take the keystone Fervor of Battle and the other Thunderlord's Decree .
The difference between the two is simply your style of play.

Fervor of Battle will give you more constant dps especially late and allowing you to strengthen your AA and crit. Mathematically speaking fervor almost wins on all points compare to Thunderlord, yet the current problem of Kindred is early game and in the game they are advising to trade fast and efficient, be it for ganking or dueling.

Thunderlord's Decree becomes almost useless in late compare to Fervor but in the end Kindred is already ultra powerful in Late, she needs an asset for the early / mid.
Thunderlord's Decree is therefore an optimal keystone for this stuff, in fact the keystone brings more burst and pressure in early.
Also allowing you to trade quickly and efficiently.
In case you take Thunderlord's Decree , I recommend Natural Talent and Double Edged Sword so as not to lose too much damage.

Ferocity :

Fury vs Sorcery:
It seems obvious to me that Kindred needs Attack Speed

Fresh Blood vs Feast:
The Fresh Blood is for me and by far the best option and therefore a bonus of damage that is not negligible but if you still have trouble to clear the jungle despite all the tools at your disposal, Feast remains a good choice.

Vampirism vs Natural Talent :
Both are as viable as each other, for short, let's say it depends on what you need in mid/late game.
More damage or more spell vamp? The answer is simply your preference.

For those who love math here is the following :
For exemple in late game without Natural Talent , you will have 333 damage
That means you can deal about 800 damage
With Natural Talent it becomes about 825 damage
Death's Dance Gives 15% Lifesteal and Vampirism gives 2%
So in late game, without Natural Talent and so with Vampirism you will do 800 damage and you heal the 136.
With Natural Talent you will make 825 damage and heal you from 123.75.

With the Runaan's Hurricane and Vampirism you will heal 244.8 HP on 3 targets.
And with Natural Talent of 222.75.

So it's only a matter of whether you want Lifesteal or damage.
Natural Talent will give 3% more damage on the late game (full build) and Vampirism will give 13% more lifesteal.
Warning: I do not take into account the stack of fervor on which the effectiveness of Natural Talent falls to 2.5%.

Double Edged Sword vs Bounty Hunter vs Battle Trance :
I think Bounty Hunter is useless because Kindred is sort of a duelist and rarely finds himself in 1v4 to kill everyone as an Akali could do. For the other two it is a matter of preference.

If you are going to Fervor or Warlords, I strongly recommend Battle Trance because it provides better support than Double Edged Sword .

Battering Blows vs Piercing Thoughts : Kindred being a Marksman and AD, armor penetration is obviously the best choice.

Warlord's Bloodlust vs Fervor of Battle : With rework, fervor becomes an optimal Keystone thanks to hypercarry status and Kindred's AD ratio.
Warlords is to be banished.

Ingéniosité :

Wanderer vs Savagery:
The Savagery will help clear the camps in the jungle.

Runic Affinity vs Assassin :
The Runic Affinity time bonus is good for Kindred knowing that it benefits tremendously from the red buff. However, the Runic Affinity bonus is not very long. That's why I recommend Assassin , it's a good option to give you a good early damage bonus if you cross the enemy jungler and snowball.

Merciless vs Meditation :
Ew xD Seriously ?

Greenfather's Gift vs Dangerous Game :
For me Greenfather's Gift is much better than Dangerous Game , it brings a rather large damage bonus to clear the camps (yes it works against the jungle monsters) and perfect for ganking.
Be careful to pass through the bushes otherwise it dosn't work !

Items

Starter :

Hunter's Machete: Much better than the other jungle start, the machete has been buffed since
Refillable Potion: Better than Potions
Stealth Ward: The trinket has wards to prevent reveal the enemy's position and jungle route.

Core :

You need to know that you have many path for build Kindred core :

Build 1. Skirmisher's Sabre - Warrior -> Infinity Edge -> Runaan's Hurricane
Build 2. Skirmisher's Sabre - Warrior -> Statikk Shiv -> Infinity Edge
Build 3. Skirmisher's Sabre - Warrior -> Blade of the Ruined King -> Runaan's Hurricane
Build 4. Skirmisher's Sabre -> Infinity Edge -> Runaan's Hurricane

The build path depends of your game and matchups : :

Build 1. Focus Farming
Build 2.. Standard : "I don't know what to do"
Build 3. Against tank stacking hp
Build 4. Early feed and snowball

Skirmisher's Sabre - Warrior : In my opinion the best item jungle for kindred, very nice because it reduces the damage inflicted on Kindred. The enchantment gives AD which allows Kindred to enjoy a burst in early and not getting outdmged.

In case you ask yourself the question Bloodrazor is really bad but less optimized because to have as much dps as warrior you will have to attack a target that is at more than 2k hp. You will also be overcap easly with your items so it's become useless.

It is important to know that Bloodrazor will not be profitable in mid / late game because you will be overcapped in Attack Speed. (Note: Dance of arrow makes it possible to overcome the lack of AS in early)

Blade of the Ruined King It's a very good item for Kindred, it's allow you to have a powerspike in early.

Infinity Edge : Kindred has become a Crit Build Hypercarry, so IE is a very important core item to amplify Kindred's damage

Runaan's Hurricane : This is an indispensable item to clean the jungle and inflict damage quickly. It must be done after the botrk.
It must be understood that this object is a multiplier.
It's an item for teamfight/farm mainly.

Statikk Shiv : Gives a better burst power to Kindred in comparison to RFC but has no range bonus.

Situational :

Rapid Firecannon : For me the most powerful situational item by default, it offers an important burst for kindred, increases the range and allows to pass once again yout crit and attack speed cap.

Lord Dominik's Regards : Great against tank that stacking hp

Death's Dance : Very useful to alleviate the enemy's dps and the burst, an item to be taken against a squishy team.

Mortal Reminder : Very good item against tank with sustain.

Mercurial Scimitar : Item to take if you have trouble with control.

Def items :

Guardian Angel: For me by far the best defensive object on kindred, besides giving a second life and a means of tempo even more before your ultimate or after this one, it's an item bringing you a little more resistance.
When I have too much gold and it is already used, I sell it to buy another defensive item. Doing this allows me to stay gold efficient and wait for the GA CD without dropping an item slot.

Bonus :

Essence Reaver : If you have too many golds, you can sell your jungle item to buy Essence Reaver. It's similar but the stats are better in addition to giving a sustain of mana.
Ninja Tabi : Take the Tabi if you face a team with lots of AD carry

Mercury's Treads : Take the Mercury if you face a team with a lot of AP carry

Tips

Tips skills :

1. Use Dance of Arrows before using Wolf's Frenzy.
With this you will have 1 Dance of Arrows in addition in a lower CD

2. Jump the over the walls with Dance of Arrows.
This trick allows you to move faster in the jungle, chase or escape more easily.

3. Use Dance of Arrows comme une attack reset.
Combo: AA - Q - AA with this you have more damage

4. Dodge the skills with Dance of Arrows.

5. Always save (exception) use Dance of Arrows to disengage a fight or kite on the side
The best is to move either left or right to see back against the duel melee.
Dance of Arrows should only be used forward if the target runs away.

6. When you want to catch someone from far away.
Use the Flash before Dance of Arrows, as this will inflict the damage of Dance of Arrows if you are close enough. (The reverse does not work)

7. Use Wolf's Frenzy for clean every camps.
This allows you to take much less damage and have enough life for gank.

8. Use Wolf's Frenzy in the bush to give the vision.
This allows you not to lose your target, you can for example when the blue put Wolf's Frenzy and kite by passing the other side of the wall again and again. If you do it well to take no damage.

9. Use Wolf's Frenzy before hiring TeamFight.
Many underestimate the damage of Wolf's Frenzy, he helps to poke before starting a TeamFight.

10. Don't Mounting Dread at the beginning of a fight.
This is obviously relative, but it is advisable to keep it because it is your only CC.
It is sometimes useful to use it to engage if you are certain to kill your target afterwards.

11. Use Lamb's Respite for the burst in front.
Well use, your ultimate is able to turn a teamfight or a duel.

12. During a duel, save your spells for any use at the very end of Lamb's Respite.
You will have more ease to win your duels.

Miscellaneous Tips.

1. Always move around and kite! Always ! Even during the camps.
Moving is the key to placement and this allows for as much dodging attacks as being unpredictable.

2. Spend more time at ganking than farming.
You have to put enormous pressure on the whole map, do not hesitate. Farming is good but it does not help to win a game.

3. Constantly watch the minimap and keep an eye on the farm / kda of all the champions.
The minimap shows absolutely everything, warding, timers, position of allies and enemies, all information is important.
If you managed the timers, goals as well as the snowball flow on the lanes you will have dominance over the jungle and considerable influence.

4. Don't hesitate to do the Herald.
This is a small buff for you, ask for help at the top that is usually tanky.
It is really not a buff to neglect and you will bring another tool to put pressure and snowball.
The best time to do this is when your top is alone or has finished pushing his tower. It is advisable to keep an eye on the position of the jungler in front.
You have to pay attention to the timer because it disappears then to make way for the Nashor.

Kindred' Bug

Here some Kindred'bug :

- Wolf's Frenzy becomes crazy and moves madly and does not attack sometimes when it is activated next to the inibhs or ZZrot.

- Dance of Arrows in a wall will cancel the animation for a very short time and shoot the 3 arrows.

- Lamb's Respite : healing buffs and buffs from items from healing will apply to enemies too when they are healed

Ardent Censer
Athene's Unholy Grail
Windspeaker's Blessing

- Mounting Dread will not sometimes show the complete animation (that of wolf) but the damage will still be applied.

- Wolf's Frenzy will no longer attack the scuttle crab if you lose sight of it during the duration of the spell.

Frequently asked Questions

You pronounce Kindred as being a woman by saying "she" but you have to say "A" Kindred because Lamb and Wolf are a team and in the end it is so "They"! no ?

As said, "Kindred" represents the white embrace of death and the sharp jaw that closes on its prey in the darkness.

Lamb is a female and Wolf is a male, and two forms Kindred ^^ therefore in the plural "They" so "A Kindred".
But in truth you are wrong because Kindred does not represent a team and even when we say "She" for Kindred to designate "Lamb".

Kindred is the representation of death and the Grim Reaper in Runeterra. So "death" and is a feminine word, although "Death" is according to the tongues, a character is feminine or masculine.

So in the end it's "ONE"

It is "The Reaper" Kindred, being part of the divine beings, she is a "Goddess" because it is "Death".

Why take Wolf's Frenzy first skill and not Dance of Arrows?

The answer is that Wolf's Frenzy is a better asset to lvl 1, since it reduces the mobility speed of the monsters as well as their attack speed, you can kite more easily and lose almost no HP, Wolf's Frenzy offering you by The same occasion a constant dps.

Train in person to make the red to lvl 1 solo with Wolf's Frenzy and without smite, personally I get there and I am even able to continue the jungle thereafter without needing back.

Is Ghost a good alternative to Flash ?

Flash is a good asset for the versatility it brings in many situations, but taking the Ghost is just as good. The Ghost allows you to move faster and therefore put much more pressure on the lanes to see the jungle adverse, in addition to having a CD enough short.

However I recommend staying with the Flash if you are not a experienced player on Kindred.

In view of the special class and the role that Kindred represents, should you go deeply behind the first enemy lines or should you stay behind like an adc?
In teamfight you have to stay in the last line like an adc, there is more chance to stay safe and not slam the ulti too early. However if you have the option to go for the carry AP and AD behind the enemy lines in teamfight, bypassing the first row from the back, I invite you to do so.

I am afraid to make the ravens early, I find that they do me too much damage, what to do?

If you are having difficulty cleaning the crows, you can ignore them but counter gank a little more or counter jungle to not have a slowdown in your growth curve compared to others.
Thereafter you can make the crows at lvl 5 when you already have more items.

__

If you have any questions to ask me do not hesitate to ask them in the comments.
If the question comes up very often I would post here an answer for everyone.
