The earliest tale of Aatrox is as old as recorded history. It tells of a war between two great factions remembered only as the Protectorate and the Magelords. Over time, the Magelords won a series of crushing victories, leaving them on the brink of obliterating their sworn enemy forever. On the day of their final confrontation, the Protectorate army found themselves outnumbered, exhausted, and poorly equipped. They braced for inevitable defeat.
Just when all hope seemed lost, Aatrox appeared among the ranks of the Protectorate. With but a few words, he urged the soldiers to fight to the last before throwing himself into battle. His presence inspired the desperate warriors. At first, they could only watch in awe as this unknown hero cleaved through their enemies, his body and blade moving in unison as if one being. Soon, the warriors found themselves imbued with a potent thirst for battle. They followed Aatrox into the fray, each fighting with the furious strength of ten until they had won a most unlikely victory.
Aatrox vanished after that battle, but the Protectorate army's newfound fury did not. Their surprising triumph led to many more until they were able to finally return home victorious. Their countrymen hailed them as heroes, but though they had saved their entire civilization from destruction, darkness lingered in the mind of each warrior. Something within them had changed. Over time, their memories of battle faded, only to be replaced with a grim revelation: their acts of heroism were, in fact, brutal atrocities committed by their own hands.
Tales like these appear among the myths of many cultures. If they are all to be believed, Aatrox's presence has changed the course of some of the most important wars in history. Though these stories remember him as a savior in dark times, Aatrox's true legacy may be a world filled with conflict and strife.

- Blood Well:It works like a Guardian Angel if you would normaly die your life freezes at 1HP, you become untargetableand stand up again with a percentage of your maximum health.The amount of life is higher the more the bar below your healthbar is filledand the numbers in your healthbar are similar to the amount of life you have as you become targetable again. You can increase this by getting more maximum HP[/color)

- Blood Thirst / Blood Price (W): Every thirdauto attack will trigger your Blood Thirst / Blood Price while toggle off you will heal yourself if you are below 50% HP the effect will be doubledand if toggled on you will sacrifice your own HP to damage the enemy.
- Blades of Torment (E): Blades of Torment is your poke ability but you mainly use it as a slow.It is pretty hard to aim because the path it takes is different to all other abilities.
- Massacre (R): Massacre is your ultimate.It damages all enemys near you and gives you a huge attack speed boost *list
Runes
- Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage : Early Game damage boost for more damage and lifesteal trough your Blood Thirst / Blood Price.
- Greater Mark of Attack Damage : Early Game damage boost for more damage and lifesteal trough your Blood Thirst / Blood Price.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist : To take less damage from AP champs in the late and mid game. You wont see many AP champs top so scaling magic resist glyphs do better than flat magic resist glyphs.
- Greater Seal of Armor : To be able to take more punishment.Take flat armor seals because you will manly be against AD champs on the toplane.
Masteries
Fury 4/4 : For some bonus attack speed
Deadliness 4/4 : For some bonus attack damage
Weapon Expertise 1/1 : Why shouldn't you take Armor Penetration
Perseverance 3/3 : Some Life reg is always nice
Durability 4/4 : Extra health can't hurt

Start Items
Long Sword + 2x Health Potion : Extra damage and sustain. I recommend to pick it nearly everytime because it gives you a nice damage boost and even more sustain and recoverbility of ganks.
Cloth Armor + 5x Health Potion : Great sustain against heavy AD. Pick it when ever you will get a huge physical damage threat (like Pantheon or Riven)
Boots + 4x Health Potion : Movespeed and good sustain. You go this part if you are against a champion with many skillshots you have to dodge.
Doran's Blade : Health,lifesteal,attack damage Pick this item if you think you wont need health potions on your lane and are sure you will win the lane.
Core Items
Blade of the Ruined King : Works great with your Blood Thrist / Blood Price(W) the bonus attack speed allows you to get the heal/damage more often the attack damage increases your overall damage output and the lifesteal gives you even more sustainability the active is also nice some extra heal,damage and a slow.
Mercury's Treads / Ninja Tabi : You take less damage from the enemy team and especially the one/two you are laning against
Giant's Belt : Just some more health to survive some cc and burst
Offensive Items
Berserker's Greaves : Even more attack speed which also increases the damage you deal with Blood Thirst / Blood Price butless sustain
Phantom Dancer : More attack speed which also increases the damage you deal with Blood Thirst / Blood Price and higher crit chance what also increases your damage output but doens't increase the damage of any skill of you and some movespeed
Zephyr : more attack speed which also increases the damage you deal with Blood Thirst / Blood Price it also gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price some cooldown reduction and movespeed
Statikk Shiv : more attack speed which also increases the damage you deal with Blood Thirst / Blood Price and higher crit chance what also increases your damage output but doens't increase the damage of any skill of you and a nice passiv that increases your burst potential and it gives you some movespeed
Bloodthirster :It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price and some lifesteal what increases your survivability and allows you to get life back on each attack wheater you have the damage or the heal of your Blood Thirst / Blood Price active
Ravenous Hydra : It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price and some lifesteal what increases your survivability and allows you to get life back on each attack wheater you have the damage or the heal of your Blood Thirst / Blood Price active and your auto attacks deal aoe damage
Infinity Edge : It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price and you get ahigher crit chance what also increases your damage output but doens't increase the damage of any skill and the passiv that crits deal even more damage
Black Cleaver :It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price, some Health and cooldown reduction and armor penetration what allows you to ignore some of the enemys armor
Last Whisper :It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price and armor penetration what allows you to ignore some of the enemys armor
Defensive Items
Warmog's Armor : Health just to boost the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well
Randuin's Omen : Health just to boost the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well it also gives you a great armor boost to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AD champions and if you activate this item all enemies around you are slowed
Sunfire Aegis : Health just to boost the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well it also gives you a great armor boost to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AD champions and enemies around you take some magic damage
Runic Bulwark : Health just to boost the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well it also gives you and your team some armor and magic resist to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AD and AP champions and also some life regen to you and your allies even the minions get the armor, magic resist and the life reg but they get only half of it
Spirit Visage : Health just to boost the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well it also gives you some magic resist to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AP champions AND the effect of your healing is increased and some Cooldown reduction
Thornmail : To make the enemy AD's suffer from their own attacks and HUGE armor boost
Offensive and Defensive Items
Frozen Mallet : Slows donw running enemies and the Healthboosts the amount of damage you can take to allow you to survive burst and cc and increases the amount of life you will get after you came back with Blood Well and It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price
Mercurial Scimitar : It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price it also gives you some magic resist to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AP champions AND it allows you to remove all debuffs on your champion
Maw of Malmortius : It gives you some attack damage what increases the damage of your autohits, Dark Flight, Blades of Torment and the heal and damage of Blood Thirst / Blood Price it also gives you some magic resist to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AP champions AND the less life you have the more damage you deal]
Wit's End : This item gives you more attack speed which also increases the damage you deal with Blood Thirst / Blood Price also gives you some magic resist to increase the amount of punishment you can take from AP champions AND your auto attacks deal some extra magic damage and steal them magic resist
Farming
As you probably will know only do the last hit the killing blow to not push the lane but to still get the gold. Use the healing effect of your Blood Thirst / Blood Price to get life while you last hit and the damage effect if you want to push the lane. Dont use your skills to get last hits unless you are loosing your lane then use your Blades of Torment to get some last hits without getting damage.
If you have to decide which minion you give the killing blow remember:
Canon Minion> Meele Minion>Caster Minion
Getting Ganks
Always tell your Jungler when your lane opponent set a ward!.
There is of course not only one way you can help your Jungler I will explain you the easiest 3
Make a fight happen:
Make faults/Make your enemy attack you This way even if it is warded he wont notice your jungler coming until it is to late and because of your passive Blood Well you will surivive and you or your Jungler will get a kill and you some free farm.
CC him:
As soon as your Jungler sits in the brush of your top lane hit the enemy with Dark Flight and engage your Jungler will follow you into a easy 2vs1 kill
let him push:
Or singal your Jungler to help you at your lane then let the lane get pushed to get more space between your enemy and his tower and let your Jungler engage first or use one of the previous technique.
