Introduction

Hello! I am StarZy and currently Gold 3. And welcome to my Draven guide! Since today is his 2 year anniversary, i figured I would share my guide with you guys! I have mained/played Draven all of this season and most of last season. Here are my stats as Draven this season.

So i hope you enjoy the guides and if you hae any questions feel free to posta comment and i'll answer as sone as i can!

Items

For starting items. There is nothing out of the ordinary for all adcs. So i start with Doran's Blade and 1 Health Potion. As well as grabbing a Stealth Ward for the trinket.

The first two items you need to prioritize as Draven is Bloodthirster and Last Whisper. These will give Draven a very high damage output early game. Between getting these items, be sure to grab Berserker's Greaves for movement.

The next two items you will want to grab is Infinity Edge and Phantom Dancer. These will grant #TonsOfDamage and attack speed to deal more damage. If you are behind, you can grab a Avarice Blade to get a gold income item and build it into a Statikk Shiv. But since you are Draven, you should be able to get early kills with this build and utilize Dravens passive to get gold and build into these core items.

Finally. To round out this build, you will want to grab one of these: Guardian Angel, Banshee's Veil or Mercurial Scimitar. If you are against a hard poke champ such as Varus, Nidalee, Ziggs etc. You will want to go with Banshee's Veil. If you are against a hard CC team such as Warwick, Amumu, Thresh etc. You will want to go with Mercurial Scimitar. And if you are against anything else, Guardian Angel will be a solid choice.

Final Note: If you get full build and are ahead and don't need Berserker's Greaves - Homeguard then you can sell your boots and get a Zephyr.

Runes

There is nothing to really talk about runes. They are very simple but will let you deal lots of damage with damage and attack speed.

For Marks. I use 9 Greater Mark of Attack Damage. These will let you last hit easily while getting good early trades.

For Seals. I use 5 Greater Seal of Health and 4 Greater Seal of Armor. These will give you good health in lane due to the nerfs to armor seals but you will still get some of that armor to help in trades with the extra health.

For Glyphs, I use 9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist. Due to Dravens lack of escapes. The scaling magic resist will help late game vs ap carries. But since you will have less magic resist early, you will focus on farming Vs. the enemy AD Marksman and Support to win trades with your stated above, Seals.

And finally, for Quintessences, I use 2 Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed and 1 Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage. With recent changes to attack speed. And nerf to attack damage. The attack speed will be very useful while still having that bit of attack damage.

Masteries

There is nothing special about masteries. Run the standard 21/9/0.

Some notable mentions are going into Recovery . You can instead go into Unyielding and Juggernaut instead of those 2 Recovery points. But besides that. I would not change much. This will give you the most protection and resistance.

Skill Sequence

Draven relys on outputting damages with his Spinning Axes. So you will be maxing this spell to increase damage output and survivability.

The second spell you wanna max is Stand Aside. This spell will slow enemies hit so you can easily get damage off from your axes and easily kill enemies that flee from Based Draven.

This spell is also good for kiting enemies that chase you down. You will be able to use this ability to slow them down and make a clean getaway.

Then you will be maxing Blood Rush with the last few spots. As well as leveling your ultimate, Whirling Death whenever you can at level 6,11 and 16.

Good Match ups

Draven can easily win match ups. These are the preferable match ups.

Draven can easily win lane against Ezreal. Dravens damage output will be way more than Ezreals. You will be able to win trades with him if you can keep a good chain of Spinning Axes.

Draven Can also win lane against Lucian. You will be able to out damage Lucian if you can last from his intial burst. Once he uses his abilities you will still have stacking damage from Spinning Axe and easily out damage him.

Draven can also win lane against Vayne. Vaynes range will make it difficult to last hit and give you free damage onto her. Then you can easily out damage in trades with her low HP.

Bad Match ups.

Draven does not work in every match up. Here are the bad ones for Based Draven.

Caitlyn can bully Draven early game with her high poke and auto attack range. She will be able to keep her distance at most times and easily poke you down before and during fights. This is probably the hardest match up for Draven.

Varus is another AD Carry who can bully Draven with poke abilities and auto attacks. If Varus can chain CC you with Hail of Arrows and Chain of Corruption then Draven will not be able to get damage down onto Varus and then die from the Varus' damage.

Kog'Maw is the final champion that can easily beat Draven. Again, Kog'Maw has long auto attack range and when using Bio-Arcane Barrage will be able to stand far back and damage Draven. And Kog'Maw will also be able to use Void Ooze to kite Draven and kill him with his high poke and damage.

Good Support Combos

Draven relys on good supports that can kite enemies and help Draven survive.

The best support that works with Draven is Janna. Janna will be able to use Eye of the Storm to increase Dravens damage output and give him a shield to survive. Janna will also be able to help kite with Howling Gale and Monsoon.

The second good support to combo with Draven is Leona. Leona will be able to follow up with Dravens damage with Zenith Blade and Solar Flare. Leonas passive, Sunlight, will also combo with Dravens damage output very well.

Finally, the third good support to combo with Draven is Nami. Nami will be able to help Draven kite with Aqua Prison and Tidal Wave. As well as help get into fights with Ebb and Flow and Tidecaller's Blessing.

Supports to Avoid

Draven also has some bad support match ups.

Leona is the most difficult support to play against as Draven. Draven is very immobile and makes it easy for Leona to land key abilities like Zenith Blade and Shield of Daybreak. Then Leona can lock down Draven even more with Solar Flare. Leona is a very hard support to play against and i would stick away from Leona as Draven.

Blitzcrank is another support to watch out for. Blitzcrank also makes use of that immobile Draven kit and can put Draven is a bad spot with Rocket Grab and Power Fist. Then if Draven gets pulled Blitzcrank can use Static Field to silence Draven and make it so he cannot escpe and makes an easy kill for the enemy team.

Morgana is yet again, a support that uses Dravens very immobile kit to chain CC and kill Draven easily. If Morgana can land a Dark Binding then she can follow up with Black Shield to counter Dravens Stand Aside and get close to Draven to use Soul Shackles to bind Draven even more and make him an easy kill.

Summary

Make sure to keep your Spinning Axe stacks as long as you can to increase damage output and get more stacks for your passive, League of Draven. Try to stay back and let your team engage in fights and take most of the damage and focus from the enemy team then go in and cleanup. Thats it! Thank you for reading through my Draven guide. Feel free to comment if you have any questions or comments! Good luck on the Rift and keep carrying as Draven!
