Akali is versatile AP champion. The best thing about her is that you can go straight AP burst, tanky, or mixed build. She has great snowballing potential.

1. Mark of the Assassin + AA - basic poke
2. Mark of the Assassin + Twilight Shroud + AA - basic poke, when you need to close gap
3. Mark of the Assassin + wait for cooldown + AA + Mark of the Assassin + AA + Crescent Slash
4. Shadow Dance + Mark of the Assassin + AA ...

! Most of the time you want to engage with Shadow Dance and cast Mark of the Assassin after, because if you will start with Mark of the Assassin and Shadow Dance 2nd, you will get to the target and hit AA before your Mark of the Assassin

Ignite + Flash - usual pick on mid lane, or top where you see easy matchup
Teleport + Flash - usual pick on top lane, or mid if you need more map pressure

Exhaust - great choice against high burst matchup
Ghost - if you like it, go for it, but myself I wouldn't pick it on Akali
