Introduction

Hello this is my first guide on Alistar. I've seen many different ways on playing him and they all seem decent. I've tried out a build where you stack AD/AS and you can backdoor late game but you get taken out fairly easy whenever your ult is on cooldown. I've also tried a pure HP/Armor build where I had a massive amount of health, but couldn't really do much but stun and push people around. So this build tries to give you AD/AS while also giving you more HP/Armor.

Pros

+Can backdoor towers on his own
+Able to withstand a ton of AD

-Abilities don't do much damage
-Not very damaging to other champs

Runes

Alright so this is where most of the variation will come.

Quints


I feel as if it is a no brainer to stack for tanky characters.
I also foresee this build running into mana problems, so you could get as well.

Glyphs


I recommend , it will let your ult come quicker which allows you to perform better.
If you don't feel like the c/d is worth it, I would recommend grabbing either or .

Seals


I grabbed because I feel like it helps the build out majorly.
You should also be able to grab or seals, but I feel for the purpose of this build AS works best.

Marks


Here I grabbed but you could also grab , I don't really see any other viable options for marks.

Masteries

Offence


I just tried to grab things that would help AD/AS and CDR.
If you wanted you could drop a point somewhere and put it in Archaic Knowledge.

Utility


Here I just grabbed general useful things.
I also put a point in the gold per 10 because this is a somewhat costly build.

Defence


The 21 in Offence is a must, but if you feel you don't need the utility I suppose you could put points in Hardiness and Evasion.

Items

Start off with a and get the asap.

I have you getting first (after you finish ) for some quick armor and health, also the active will help you push them back towards your team in fights.

The give you awesome movement speed, allowing you to hop around the map quickly.

Sunfire is next for more presence in team fights.

is for nice attack speed and the passive helps take out towers quickly.

will give you some more attack speed and damage.

Lastly to give you ridiculous health and more damage.

Also in the event that you actually do finish building everything, buy all the pots.

Other options


If you find yourself too slow you in fights, you can always get and for nice movement.

If up against a caster heavy team you could grab a , it will give you MR and add to your damage output.

If you think the isn't worth it then you could grab an or /

Skill Sequence


This one is first for a few reasons. It will help you get kills, it will help you initiate team fights, it will help you farm minions.


I have this one last because it is one of the harder ones to use effectively.


This one will keep you and your team alive, simple enough.


This is the main skill in this build, when you use this towers will drop and you will never drop. Whenever you get in a tight situation this will save your butt.

Farming

Once you get maxed you should be able to run into a crowd of creeps and use it and then get 6 last hits very quickly. This will bring in a large amount of gold depending on how often you do it and will help your build progress quickly. Don't be afraid to tank the minions.

Summary

In summary, minions to get gold, use to backdoor, and then just support your team. I know this is a very costly build but if you can get enough, it should work very well.
