Fellow summoners

This is my 2nd guide to Mobafire. I wrote it for Riven. I bought her and the first game made me fall in love with her. And yes I know that there are maybe even too much of new Riven guides because of her "freshness". But I've read too many bad ones, so I decided to write one myself.

And I'm sorry of my grammar errors.

Oh, and I COULD fill this area with lore and that kind of sh** but I dislike that.

Pros

Cool outlook
Nice abilities (:knockback, AoE stun, dash+shield)
^ that allow moving fast
^^ and initiating and moving away from battles
Extremely good ganker
High dmg output

Cons

Squishy before items for HP
Her joke is lame (lol)
Vulnereable to CC
Focused easily

MARKS

For marks I take Greater Mark of Desolation, basic runes for a AD DPS.

SEALS

Greater Seal of Attack Speed are nice for an early game boost.

GLYPHS

Glyphs are Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction if I can choose. Riven is only stricted by cooldowns, so getting them down a bit isn't bad thing.

QUINTENSSENCES

Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed are my favorite quintenssences. Especially for Riven, who is momentum-based, these are AWESOME. Combined with Boots and Quickness you will be faster than many other champs in the beginning.

My masteries are 3/6/21

Offense tree:

Nothing special, grab Cripple for Exhaust (don't take if U don't use it!), and a little crit chances too.

Defense tree:

Grab extra armor and magic resistance to increase survivability. This REALLY helps U in early-mid game!

Utility tree:

Ah, the tree that I prefer. The ultimate mastery, Presence of the Master , takes 15% slice away from your summoner spells cooldowns. This help you to ensure kills and save critical attacks aganist you.

Awareness Level up in lane/jungle faster.

Intelligence Nice CDR boost to Riven.

Quickness In a combo with Boots and MS (Movement Speed) quints, as explained above.

Utility Mastery One of the best masteries. 30% to buff duration. BRILLIANT. Be sure to grab this.

This 1st(more coming soon!) build is total damage output. This makes u feared ganker, but u should leave initiatin 3+ opponents teamfight to others. Be careful out there.

Main/Core build as a DMG outputter:

Boots:
My choice is a pair of Boots of Swiftness. This and your other boosts give you pretty movement speed. Movement speed = Riven's bread and butter.

Anti-squishiness item:
Frozen Mallet brings a ton of hp, attack damage and it's feared unique passiv that slows down everyone you hit. No-one shall flee from the hands of the Mighty Riven.

Lifesteal item:
Bloodthirster is a great item for a AD DPS. At max stacks, 25% life steal and 100 AD. Not bad, huh? The best part is that it gets quickly better when u lane/jungle/kill champs.
Awesome for getting your hp back fast and safe.

CDR/Trolling item:
Youmuu's Ghostblade Brings you nice CDR, armor pen, magic res and a little of AD. AND its feared unique active; MS and attack speed. Be sure to activate before going to a bigger fight, it makes some difference.

Attack speed item:
Phantom Dancer is a must for DPS champs. It brings u all attack speed, crit chance and MS. It really is a MUST. If u donot understand why I take this item to Riven, plz read this guide again (or L2P).

Joker item:
Infinity Edge is an ace up in the sleeve. 250% crits, 80 AD and ofc 25% crit chance. Do I need to say moar?

Start by taking one point to all abilities. Then max Broken Wings and Ki Burst simultaneously. Then why you should max Valor last? Because you are NOT trying to get a nice shield. Love the dash <3.
Broken Wings
Riven steps forward and lashes out in a series of powerful sword slashes. This ability can be activated up to 3 times in a short period.

1st Use/2nd Use: Deals 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to a small area in front of her.

3rd Use: Jumps into the air and slams downward, causing a larger impact nova that deals 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and knocks nearby enemies back.

Broken Wings get bonus damage from bonus AD. So Bloodthirster + Infinity Edge = Destruction!

Ki Burst
Riven stuns nearby enemies for 0.5 seconds and hits them for 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage.

Ki Burst also benefits from bonus AD. Nothing special.

Valor
Riven dashes forward and gains a shield that protects her from up to 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) for 2.5 seconds.

Lolwut? Even your SHIELD gets better by your bonus AD. Well, offense is the best defense...
So in endgame you can use your Valor to block incoming damage such as Pyroclasm.

Blade of the Exile
Riven's sword reforms, giving her a bonus 20% Attack Damage, extended range on her damaging abilities and basic attacks for 15 seconds.

While Blade of the Exile is active, Riven can reactivate the ability to activate Wind Slash, emitting a large cone shockwave that deals 80 / 120 / 160 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) - 240 / 360 / 480 (+1.8 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to all units hit based on their missing life.

Dear god this ultimate... It brings you RANGE, DAMAGE and WIND SLASH. Love this <3

The spells I use are Flash and Exhaust. This is the most common combination of spells I use. Just to remind you why you should take them.


FLASH

Teh art of escaping.
Can be used in order to move like a ninja
Can be used to move from a bush to another; your opponent wont know what happened
You can flash to a location where u can hit multiple enemies with Wind slash aka Sword of the exile again.


Smite

This is a MUST if you are jungleing. It allows you to begin jungling at lvl 1. Otherwise it will be difficult. And in the late game, it acn be used to pets like Children of the Grave.



EXHAUST

Used to ensure a kill from an enemy trying to flee
Saving yourself/teammate chasd by an enemy
Any AD DPS has damage reduced by 70%. That is HUGE
Trollin'

Ignite
Ghost
Cleanse
I am not going to explain why these are good, if you have played LoL ever, you know why!

Rally
Fortify
Revive
Clarity
Clairvoyance

Here I will explain Riven's skill rotation.

Basic skill rotation:

Valor > Blade of the Exile > Broken Wings > autoattack > Broken Wings > autoattack > Broken Wings > Ki Burst (> Youmuu's Ghostblade) > autoattacks > Finish with WINDN SLASH.

Rotate this in main battles. Your ulti's cooldown wont be big after you runes, abilities and items, so you can use it often. Be also sure to hit your opponents with some nice autoattacks. Your passive stacks, but only 3 times. Care that you use all stacks you can!

There is nothing special with jungling with Riven. With these masteries, runes and spells U will be the King of the Jungle(Problem Tarzan?)! Your basic jungle route is
Wolves(Don't use smite, but focus on the biggest one first. The best way is to Q-> autoattack -> Q -> autoattack...) -> Wraiths( Take ki burst, smite the biggest one, and again, use your passive well) -> Golems (abilites + autoattacks) -> Base -> Blue -> Base if needed -> Red -> GANK!!!!!

With this information, go own teh jungle. And if your opponent has a jungler too, go gank him(supports with Clairvoyance may help a lot!).
