Introduction

Well, heres a little TF guide.
Twisted Fate was my main midlaner for a big amount of time, and i found out that he is a very strong laner and roamer. Hes actually such a biach to lane against. ^^

Items

I start of with Boots and 3x Health Potion - You have mobility to avoid ganks and help your jungler counterjungling and invading.
Take 1-2 Doran's Ring and a Kage's lucky pick after to have some extra gold and a decent amount of damage and health.
I always try to rush a Lich Bane because you can push your lane out fast and so you can gank with your ultimate. It also gives you the movement speed you need to have better gank potential when using ultimate.
Mercury's Treads are the best choice imo, because you got enough MR to fight with your laneopponent and got the cc-reduction to avoid enemy ganks.
Go for a Rabadon's Deathcap to maximize your damage with the lichbane and wildcards.
Deathfire Grasp is a good choice to instant burst the enemy carry in teamfights. Sometimes i would go for a DFG before deathcap to have more burst early on.


As last items you could go for:
Guardian Angel
Void Staff
Abyssal Mask
Zhonya's Hourglass

If you play against an AP burster like Veigar or Annie, you should go for a build like this:
Boots + 3x Health Potion
1 - 2 Doran's Ring + kage's lucky pick + Heart of Gold + Mercury's Treads
only go for Sheen and then rush an Abyssal Mask
build Lich Bane + Rabadon's Deathcap + Deathfire Grasp later on of course.

The reason for this build is simple: It's not a big deal if you miss some creeps, because you have the GP10's. Mercury's can save you from the full burst early on because you can avoid the stun earlier. And the abyscal finally gives you enough MR to survive in lane, push, and roam.

Runes

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration 9x - There are no better runes for an AP midlaner.
Greater Seal of Scaling Ability Power 9x - TF doesn't need manareg runes, or armor runes in midlane. These are the best choice so. He will become a beast later on with this big amount of AP.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power 9x - High lategame damage.
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed 3x - It's the perfect amount of movement speed you need for ganking other lanes.


Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - You could also use this runes instead of the AP/lvl. But I don't think you need magic resist with TF, because of the magic resist you get from lichbane and the Merc Treads.

Masteries

The Masteries are simply explained.
I go for 21 in the offense tree for the highest possibly damage output in early and late game.
I go for 9 in the utility tree for the 2% movementspeed. Combined with the runes it's the perfect amount of MS you need.

The skil secquence's are easy explained:

Wild Cards are your main damage output - max it first.
Pick A Card You will never have mana problems if you use your blue card right, you can avoid ganks and secure kills with the stun and you can push your lane with your red card (always do this, when you are roaming. Never roam if your lane opponent pushed your lane)

Summoner Spells

- Avoid ganks - The decent amount of damage you need, to finish of enemys.
- Secure kills - Secures kills as well.
- Escape

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Effective Pusher
Good sustain in lane with blue card
perfect ganker with ultimate
passive - 2extra gold per minionkill for everyone. OP isn't it ?

Cons:
No escape
low damage output until you have sheen

Laning Phase

Laning is pretty easy with Twisted Fate.
Keep your lane pushed everytime and ward up the riversides to avoid ganks.
Always have an eye on the other lanes. If you manage to use your Ultimate at the right lane, in the right moment, you can get out with a secure kill most of the time. If your gank was success you should go back and use the gold to have an advantage over your lane.

Late Game play's

As Twisted Fate you have 2 ways to go in lategame.
1st way: Get bluebuff and tell your team to let you poke before you fight. Go all 5 on a lane, use your red card to push it and poke with wild cards the whole time. Start to poke the turret and engage somewhen. You don't always need to let the tank engage. As Twisted Fate you can use your Gold Card for some good engages. Flash - Stun or Ultimate + Stun gives your team a good postion to engage and win fights.

2nd way: After finish Lichbane and Deathcap you can splitpush like a boss. Tell your team to push mid as 4 but don't let them engage. Just poke turret and keep lane pushed. Meanwhile you can push the botlane turret and go port in the midlane when your team is getting engaged or is in a good position to engage.

Summary

Twisted Fate is a kinda good carry in SoloQ if your team listens to you sometimes. ^^
He is a strong ganker and can win other lanes pretty easy. He can engage very good and is a great splitpusher since he deals a lot of damage at turrets with lichbane.
ALl in All I think Twisted Fate is really strong and fun to play if you know how to.
