Welcome To The Guide
Keep in mind, when running this build, you are focusing primarily on Attack Damage, and Armor Penetration. That being said, if you can't get in close to an enemy, or you become stunned, you will easily die.
So, without further a due, let's get to it, shall we?
Runes
Marks
Runes
- Mark of Armor Penetration - Using Marks of Armor Penetration will allow you to focus on dealing as much uninterrupted damage as possible early game. Generally speaking, in my experience, this, in combination with your other runes, will allow you to easily get first blood, if the enemy Summoner doesn't pay attention to how much damage you deal.
- Mark of Attack Damage - Don't want to use Armor Penetration? That's okay, you can use Marks of Attack Damage, and still have the upper hand against your AD foes. This will give you an easy 8.5 to 9 extra damage, compared to without it.
- Mark of Attack Speed - Want to focus on dealing damage as fast as possible? This would be the way to go. If you choose this, the Armor Penetration and Attack Damage will not have that much of a downside, if not taken. When you use these Marks, it will allow you to attack slightly faster than your enemy Champion.
Seals
Runes
- Seal of Armor - Using either of these Seals is potentially helpful. If you want a set amount of armor from the beginning of the game on, this Seal is the one for you. It will give you an edge over the enemy Champion, unless they have Armor Penetration.
- Seal of Scaling Armor - If you want to have more armor at level 18, and are not too worried about armor at the beginning of the game, this is the way to go. These Seals may save you at the Middle to End of the game, seeing as it gives you an extra 27 Armor at level 18. As Fiora, you can easily surpass the other team by 3-5 levels.
Glyphs
Runes
- Glyph of Magic Resist - Effectively the same reasoning as the Seal of Armor, it will give you an edge if you are facing a top lane Spell Caster Champion, and will give you a set amount of magic resist. Typically with this build, you won't buy MR as you have enough lifesteal with Bloodthirster and Ravenous Hydra to sustain the damage.
- Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - Refer to Seal of Scaling Armor. Basically the same concept. It will give you extra MR based on each level, for a total of 27 MR at level 18, opposed to the roughly 12 from the non-scaling counterpart.
Starting Ability
Your starting ability will vary depending upon what type of enemy champion you are facing in top lane.
RipostePassive: Fiora's attack damage is increased by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35. Active: Fiora parries the next basic attack within 1.5 seconds and deals 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+100% of ability power) magic damage back to the attacker. Works against champions, monsters, and large minions. When you are facing a melee lane opponent, or an auto attack oriented champion, be sure to take Riposte first. This will allow you to protect yourself from one of their basic attacks and deal damage back to them. Depending upon the enemy champion, you should be able to deal some decent damage back to them. |
LungeActive: Fiora dashes forward to strike her target, dealing 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Fiora can perform the dash a second time within a couple seconds at no mana cost. If facing a ranged Champion in your lane, my best advice is to first take your Lunge ability. This will allow you to, in cases of the enemy poking you, dive towards them and deal some poke damage of your own. Most enemy Champions, at this point, will back off. |
First Ability to Max
RiposteWhen playing as Fiora, be it Middle Lane, Top Lane, or on occasion Jungle, you will want to almost always max your Riposte ability, seeing as it allows you to deal more damage. The Riposte ability is more beneficial to max first than Lunge seeing as it takes effect on attacks for a set amount of time. |
Remaining Abilities
Most people try to say that you want to max your Lunge second, and your Burst of Speed third, but I find keeping them the same levels to be more beneficial, for the following reasons.
LungeActive: Fiora dashes forward to strike her target, dealing 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Fiora can perform the dash a second time within a couple seconds at no mana cost. Leveling Lunge at the same time as your burst of speed give you the ability to tie all three of your basic abilities together. You will Lunge to you enemy, then using your second and this abilities, Riposte and Burst of Speed. |
Burst of SpeedActive: Fiora gains 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 % additional Attack Speed for 3 seconds. Each basic attack or Lunge she lands during this time increases her Movement Speed by 7 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 % for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Killing a champion refreshes the cooldown on Burst of Speed, while assists reduce the cooldown by half of the base amount. If facing a ranged Champion in your lane, my best advice is to first take your Lunge ability. This will allow you to, in cases of the enemy poking you, dive towards them and deal some poke damage of your own. Most enemy Champions, at this point, will back off. |
Blade WaltzActive: Fiora dashes around the battlefield to strike random enemy champions 5 times, dealing 160 / 330 / 500 (+1.2 per bonus attack damage) physical damage per strike. Successive strikes against the same target deal 25% of the damage, up to a maximum of 320 / 660 / 1000 (+2.4 per bonus attack damage) physical damage on a single target. Each strike applies on-hit effects. Obviously, you want to put a point into Fiora's Blade Waltz every chance you are given, seeing as her ultimate makes her untargetable, but not invulnerable. She can still be hit with AoE effects, such as Pulverize and Ki Burst, but only the damage will be dealt, not the stun. Ignite still affects Fiora if she is ignited at low health, before using her Blade Waltz. Thus, if you do not have a decent amount of lifesteal, you will quite easily die within your Blade Waltz ability. |
