Hello and welcome to my second build here on mobafire. I have played Irelia alot. She isnt really hard but make sure to test Irelia in a coop first, so you get to know ur skills and when to use them.

Marks: I take Greater Mark of Desolation for greater dmg

Seals: I use Greater Seal of Armor here to be more tanky

Glyphs: Here I use Greater Glyph of Magic Resist to be more tanky

Quintessence: I mostly use Greater Quintessence of Desolation to deal more dmg but if you know u are going to sololane I rather use Greater Quintessence of Vigor.

She is offtank I know, but if u take 21/0/9 (and this runes) you can deal great dmg and still tank for your team. I mostly use Ignite but sometimes (if ur team need one) I use Exhaust make sure that you put 1 point in Cripple instead of Burning Embers .

In solo lane I always max my Hiten Style spell first but if u dont sololane u can take some points in Hiten Style and max ur Equilibrium Strike first instead. You can max ur Bladesurge if u want, it deals more dmg but I max my Equilibrium Strike for longer slow/stun to help my team more.

I always use Flash (I love it! Great spell for almost every champ) and as I said before I use ignite sometimes and exhaust sometimes depending on what summoner spells my other teammates use.

If your team dont have any tank make sure to engage with your Bladesurge spell so you tank for your team. Irelia is a "OFF"tank so dont be afraid to get kills, its always great with a fed Irelia. And the same is about minion farm, if u lane with a ad carry so let the carry get the "most" minions but u still need some by yourself.

I have heard that Irelia is a great jungler but I have never tried this, so this is not a jungle guide.

Your ulti is a great skill in both teamfights in 1v1 or even if u have to recall. In teamfights ur Transcendent Blades deal dmg to all of your enemies.
In 1v1 ur Transcendent Blades deal alot dmg to ur opponent and get healed by it! I think its awesome and this can make u win a fight u would have lost otherwise.
And if your enemies push to ur turret and you are to low health to def it u can just use ur Transcendent Blades on all the minions and BAAM! full health ^^

Ur Bladesurge is a awesome farm spell, becouse of the passive: If Bladesurge kills a unit it will be of cd, and u regain some of the mana so be sure to use this. But ofcourse u can last hit with auto attack to save mana, becouse u only gain half the mana cost when last hit, so I only use it to "ks" my own minions and kill a unit who is far away who no other champ whould be able to last hit on that distance (to save mana).

But in fights I save (becouse of the cd) it untill I can last hit the champ or when my opponent run away from me to get right next to him again.

And Bladesurge is a great spell to get next to champs far away to harass or start a fight. then do like this:
1. Look between u and your opponent, if there is a minion with low health use ur Bladesurge to kill the unit.
2. Now u are abit closer to the champ and if u did right (last hit the minion) u can use Bladesurge again right at the champ in notime! I´m sure that he/she will be really surprised and maybe not ready yet to start a fight.

Pros:1. she can engage from really long distance with Bladesurge (read: Farmin / Bladesurge)
2. She can tank alot and still deal great dmg.
3. Her Equilibrium Strike can stun/slow for a long time.
4. Her Transcendent Blades can heal her for really much hp and it has almost no cd at al (to other ultis)
5. Her Hiten Style give you health on every basic attack, even turrets!!!!

Cons:
1. she has no range dmg spell expect Transcendent Blades so if u want to harass u will get wounded too.
2. remember that your Equilibrium Strike only stun if the target has more health % than Irelia and this make it pretty hard to use.

For start items I buy Regrowth Pendant and 1 Mana Potion so u can lane longer and dont get out of mana farming with ur Bladesurge.


then I buy mercury´s treads and after that Sheen, I think its good for both the mana and the passive it gives.But I wait alittle bit before buying Trinity Force

And after that I go right on Frozen Mallet for the hp and then warmog´s armor also for the hp.

now with all that hp I go for Atma´s Impaler for the armor and the passive: 2% of your hp into attack damage

Now its the time to buy Trinity Force. but if u want to be alittle bit more tanky or if the enemy team have alot of ad carries u can buy Randuin´s Omen, and then buy Heart of Gold instead of sheen.

And for my last item I buy bansee´s veil becouse it give you a high amount of magir resist (I already have armor), the hp and mana and last the epic passive: Blocks one of your opponents spells, ones every 45 seconds.
