Hello, I'm a gold volibear main. Volibear's a pretty straightforward champion so long as you know how to farm, build, gank and teamfight. Which are all very easy on him.
Clearing your jungle
Start bot side, clear red or blue, then go to your topside and clear red or blue. (dependent on which side you start) Gank a lane, maybe two if you're healthy enough, then back or clear some more of your jungle if you don't have enough gold for your firstback items.
Side note: Kite blue to save health & time your krugs passive with your E to keep red buff stunned for longer. If you do both of these things and you use your potions, your passive won't pop off your jungle clear and you'll end up having ~70% health after your entire clear.
When you go to gank, don't rush in with your Q. Walk in far behind the enemy and hit them with your E while orbwalking with autoattacks. Position yourself so that you can Q them as soon as they flash. Repeat this process 'til after laning phase for instant-fed effects.
So you're going to have to learn how to properly teamfight with volibear, this is the only complicated part about him. Sometimes your team is going to need you to peel and sometimes you're going to have to just jump in and kill their squishies with your ult and W. Pay careful attention to teamfights. If you're losing teamfights, what is happening? How are you guys losing? Are they hitting your backlines and killing off your carries? Then that'd mean you have to save your Q instead of initiating with it. With your Q you'll be peeling people off of your carries, which means, if you're new, Q the person that's attacking your fed teammate(s).
A side note is to pop your ult once a teamfight happens because it causes an aoe effect and hits nearly everyone around you. It's more worth to use your ult and only hit one or two people than not use your ult at all.
