This guy hurts. If you start Oblivion orb you can poke him a lot, but you involuntarily push your wave. Farming under tower Nasus is bad. The alternative is he free farms and then just two hits you with Q. You're screwed. Seriously contemplate banning this guy. You should probably take phase rush to get away from his W slow. Swiftness boots if needed.
Jax
I would put this guy in extreme but depends on how he is built. If he rushes a heartbound axe, stay away from him at all costs. If he gets an auto off he will run you down with his E and timewarp tonic. Seriously bad news.
If he goes for BoRK first you can compete with him but he's still a huge pain.
Quinn
You don't win lane into Quinn. She will try to all in you level 1 with her vault to force you out of lane. She will take ignite, take cleanse into that. You're not roaming with a Quinn unless she's seriously bad or your other lanes are ahead. You can win into her mid/late game but she runs early game and then will make your other lanes suffer.
Malphite
You don't kill him. Sure you hurt with your poke but his Q is just better. His R is hard to dodge since you have no real escape. His ult is fast and unless you have a keybind to self ult it's unlikely your ult goes off before he hits you. If he ults you you're pretty much dead. Worse if AP Malphite.
Darius
You think Darius would be a really bad lane. Take exhaust. Most Darius players will try and all in you at level 1. Fight back. Last stand in addition to Press the Attack will let you out damage him. He won't hurt as bad because of exhaust and if you play it right you get his ghost and firstblood. He can't teleport since they almost always take ghost to run you down. Triumph will save you from his bleed. Just don't play dumb afterwards and mind his ghost cooldown.
Garen
You can usually outrun the guy. I suggest cleanse into Garen. Flash Q ignite R is a horrendous combo. Cleanse to get rid of ignite if he took it and the silence so you can ult before he deletes you.
Once he gets stridebreaker you need to be extra careful to not be in range or his E will chunk you for 70% of your health.
Cho'Gath
I don't understand why people say he's good into Kayle. Use your movement speed to dodge his knockup. If he can't get to you you can poke him for days. He will out sustain you but you can still chunk him out with auto attacks. Don't fight him level 1 as you will lose.
Ornn
Too tanky for you to fight. Grasp makes him out trade you at level 1. He has hard engage and can build items in lane to get tankier and that screws your damage. Play safe into him.
Irelia
If she hits you with stun you're dead. Don't be anywhere near her for her level 2. She will push wave to get level 2 advantage and try to firstblood you. After that she will perma freeze and not let you play the game.
Illaoi
She will win into you early game. Try your best to dodge her E. If you get ganked she can more than likely 1v2. You out range her and if you dodge E mid to late, she's pretty much useless and you can just blow her up.
Camille
You don't have a good way to escape her stun without outright dodging it. If she hits you with stun she'll slap you with true damage. Since you don't build a lot of health it will half health you midgame.
Dr. Mundo
You can never really kill him. If you can dodge his cleavers he can't all in you well either, so just farm from range and try not to mess up. If he snowballs at all he goes into the major or extreme category as he will grind you into dust off 1-2 kills.
Aatrox
W out of his chains. He will always do more damage than you until 25ish minutes into the game. You need an oblivion orb into him. Just try to CS with Q.
Gnar
He has his jump and his ultimate. He will jump ult you, then stun, for 60% of your HP. You win into him with autos at around level 11 if you don't die to him early. Build BoRK for his HP.
Jayce
His poke is just better than yours. You can't reach him and he will be able to Q poke you. If he all ins you lose. If he takes phase rush he will use his E last to disengage and leave while you're being knocked away so you can't fight back.
Renekton
I want to say he's really difficult but he only snowballs if he gets a kill. Play insanely passive if he takes ignite. I recommend taking exhaust into him. If you can survive pre 6 you can probably go even into him with antiheal.
Nocturne
Nocturne top is a lot worse than you would think from the stats. If you don't get hit by Q he can't chase you down the path. He is really squishy and you can hard poke him with Q and E. Take a cleanse if you really need to get rid of that fear.
Mordekaiser
Rush A QSS. Try to not get your jungler to gank and die. If he ults you you QSS, and walk back to turret. He's really weak if he can't get you into death realm, just dodge his pulls afterwards.
Pantheon
Don't walk up and sit behind minions. That spear will hurt, and his jump is ranged enough where he can walk to you then jump while you're mid AA animation. His burst will destroy you if you're not careful
Galio
He can almost always out roam you with ultimate. He will eat your poke with his magic shield. Probably build some AD damage (BoRK) into him if you can. He will out damage you and punish you if you get hit by his E or W.
Heimerdinger
Play passive until you get 6. He hurts a lot but if you don't tank abilities you can just sit behind minions and wait out the rocket attacks. Besides that his turrets have more range/same range until level 16 where you can take them for free.
Olaf
You can't slow him and he's really fast. If you dodge Q he can't do a lot, but his E chunks you out, very hard.
Ryze
He can outpoke you for most of the game. Now that tear is cheap he REALLY can first buy a tear and poke you for free all game. Stand away from minions to avoid poke
Poppy
Stay away from walls. You don't have a dash or anything for her to block but she will burst you if she stuns you.
Riven
Will all in you level 1. Stay away from the tribush if you started on the side with redbuff against toplane. She might take ignite and just run at you all game. You don't have a reliable way to fight her.
Rengar
Bush cat. A nightmare for you if you want to CS that game. Just pray for your jungler to help.
Sett
He's supposed to be a hard lane but you can ult while he's picking you up in his and dodge all of the damage. You have a speedup to outrun his grab and you can move away from the true damage from his W.
Shen
Will hard punish you early game for existing. Might take ignite to kill you level 2. You can't really fight him until level 11 where you can still damage him inside his E. At every point of the game he will be able to outroam you and generally be more useful in fights.
Singed
Just let him proxy farm your first wave. CS under turret and tell your jungler not to try and fight him. Get XP and make sure to last hit for free under turret. He's annoying but if you don't let him get to you you'll be okay.
Sion
His Q is really slow and you can dodge it. Don't get hit by his E and you'll have no problem taking almost 0 damage from him. You can burst his shield from range so he can't use it to waveclear or poke. He's fat and tanky but you have better poke as Kayle.
Teemo
You lose in CS but most of the time you can take cleanse for ignite and get an early wits end to not die. He will poke you hard early but you outscale late.
Viego
Dodge his stun. Poke him out, he's extremely squishy. Spam E Q on him as much as possible and don't let him lifesteal from his double hit auto attack.
Vladimir
He wins poke early but if you get an Oblivion orb first back it's not really that bad. Just don't let him empowered Q heal for free on you, step back
Volibear
He can't get to you easily. Play from range and poke poke with AA. Use your movement speed to dodge his ultimate and you generally can win trades into him.
Vayne
You don't really outscale a Vayne and you're a free lane for her. You're screwed without jungle help. Boneplating is your friend here.
Wukong
Ignite or teleport, he wins into you. He out trades you, will try and push you out of lane the second he sees you at 1:36. His ult shreds you and you can't do much into it.
Yasuo
He kites your poke and can just e flash you. Will perma push and not let you farm with autos, you'll need to save abilities to farm at turret.
Yone
Similar to Yasuo but he can ult you whenever. Take a zhonyas or something if you want to live. Antiheal is good since Yone builds almost exclusively lifesteal
Yorick
Don't get caged. You can't kill Maiden easily. You do enough damage if you kite to kill him though
Urgot
Dodge his Q and he can't all in. If he goes stridebreaker you simply lose. Dodging his Q and E are essential to not inting Urgot
Sylas
He hurts a lot but you're fast and can dodge his skillshots. Oblivion orb for his healing. If he doesn't get to you you poke his healthbar away.
Trundle
I don't see trundle often but I know that he saps movement speed. Your only escape is movement speed so if he can run at you you don't have much for counterplay besides flash.
Tryndamere
Seriously bad news. He can tower dive you with his ultimate and get away with it for free. Try not to pick Kayle into him. You can win a level 1 trade if he doesn't get lucky crits but as soon as he hits 6 he just wins into you. Exhaust might be a good rune to take to escape his heavy damage.
Lulu
She buffs movement speed, attack speed, gives you a shield. If she goes Ardent and Staff of flowing water you're going to be able to do a lot of damage.
Yuumi
Similar to Lulu, massive heals and can build support items to make you a monster.
Master Yi
If you have a fed Yi on your team you can ult him and he can solo win fights for you.

I started to play Kayle after I watched someone I knew play Kayle mid as a trollpick. Originally I was a Jax main and I was frustrated that I could not get myself out of mid Bronze and into Silver. The person who I was watching was Low/Mid Diamond at the time and I thought that Kayle was an extremely strong, off meta midlaner. I started to play Kayle in Season 8 back before she was reworked. She almost singlehandedly got me from Bronze into Plat, and nearly to diamond.
I've had an average of about 55% win rate over every season I've played of Kayle, and to my knowledge I have accrued about 1,000 ranked games on the champion. Even when Kayle was at her "minion" or "broken at level 16" stage, I still had a comfortable 62% win rate on the champion (which went down considerably after she was changed, I was very upset about that). I feel like I have enough ranked games on the champion to be experienced enough to write a guide, even if it wasn't in depth enough to cover exactly how each matchup should be played. I'm not a super high elo player so I can only go off of my own personal experiences on the champion, but I have grown very attached to Kayle over the past few years. I feel that she is underplayed as a champion and has a learning curve, mostly because many people like to play lanes to win, not to get beat up for the first 15 minutes of the game.
If there are any questions on lane matchups, don't be afraid to comment on the guide and I'll try to get back to you. If anyone was curious, my favorite build over time has always been on hit. I love shredding people with pure auto attacks, and I used to take lethal tempo when Kleptomancy was the meta.
Strengths and weaknesses
Kayle has an absolutely abysmal early game. You will hard lose to almost every matchup. Don't even try to fight anyone until you have a deep understanding of the champion. If you have the know how you can trade with quite a few champions at level 1, but level 2+ you more than likely lose.
Kayle's first real power spike is recurve bow. After that, it's mainly item based. Her spikes are on completed items like Nashors, and Riftmaker. Besides that, she REALLY needs her level 11 to fight. Level 6 is good for poking people with autos, but you don't win every matchup with straight autos alone. Level 11 is when you become strong and can trade with and duel many champions. Honestly, her level 16 isn't what it used to be. The bonus is that you'll have your exalted form permanently, no stacking your AA for attack speed and movement speed. You will also gain 50 range which is really important for being able to hit people and not have them hit back.
Kayle is heavily reliant on her team not hard losing early game as her late game just isn't as strong as it used to be. Sure she can still carry lategame, but she isn't the power house with true damage waves that she once was. Your lategame is still really strong, but another hard scaler like Kassadin, Kai'sa, Vayne, or Jhin could easily shut down your game.
Kayle has no hard CC and her only escape is her W, which is a heal and speedup. Managing mana is important early game as you'll need it to both keep yourself healthy, poke, and to ult when you're level 6. Your ult mana cost halves at 11, and disappears at 16. Another thing to note is that Kayle's R has an extremely long cooldown so use it wisely. I usually self ult unless I am behind enough to be completely useless in teamfights.
