Janna I main Janna, so I know about her cooldowns etc. very well, but you can heavily out trade her without fearing her cc. You have better cooldowns.

General

Welcome to my guide on Karma. I am a Platinum 3 player currently exploiting how good she is right now. Karma has received nothing but buffs for about a year and a half, and her power comes in the early game, because her ult is available at level 1. Right now early game is important, so Karma is good.

Mid Game your damage hasn't fallen off yet, and you have potent skirmishes, teamfights, and even 1 on 1s. If behind you become a utility support, if ahead you become a mage/assassin.

Late game your role depends on your build, so it will be covered more in the items section. She is more reliant on her team, and generally isn't as good as the majority of other supports (perhaps she outscales nami, but otherwise he will struggle)

Pros / Cons

Pros: Karma has the best level one in league, rivalled only by yasuo, riven, and jax. She has a mini sivir ult, great early damage, and is a jack of all trades.

Cons: NO RELIABLE HARD CC. No heal outside of athenes, the updated splash art on my favourite skin, sun goddess, is Weeaboo af.

Summoners

If you don't take flash you are a muppet, sorry to be so rude but it is true.

Ignite is the standard on Karma. It hurts healers (like Swain and Vlad, both of whom are stong atm) and is better than Exhaust in lane, and you are playing for lane.

Exhaust is good against assassins, like zed and fizz, juggernauts, like darius and mordekaiser, and melee carries, like Yasuo and Riven. In Bronze your teammates will flame you if you take ignite. They are wrong to do so, but honestly the difference isnt gigantic, so it's probably better to appease them.

Items

This will be pretty in depth, so strap in.

Eye of the Watchers: Get this item 1st, almost always. I usually build frostfang into sightstone, but the other way round is fine. Eye of the Watchers is fantastic, the only time I wouldn't rush it would be if I am losing to a magic damage heavy botlane (corki/brand) in which case I would go sightstone -> aegis -> Eye -> Locket.

Dark Seal, Refill pot, Mejais: If you get an early kill build dark seal and refill. They synergize well, and can snowball hard. Upgrade to mejais if you have 7 or more stacks, or if you can feel that you are playing on a completely different level to your opponents.

Banner of Command/Locket of the Iron Solari: you want one of these items almost every game. If the enemy has one ap carry in top, mid or jungle you need it, or if they have two ap fighters/tanks (maokai/elise). But which one? Mostly solari. But, BoC is good if a)they have a top laner who doesn't split push b)you are ahead or c) you are below mid gold elo. If you buy banner, put it on a melee minion to split push, or a cannon to siege.

Frozen Heart/Athene's Unholy Grail: when you build these items, you will hit 45% CDR, so having both is very inefficient. As a general rule you want Athene's, but Frozen is good if you a) are feeding or b) if they have multiple Attack Speed Champions (A comp like Jax, yi, diana, vayne, braum)

Side note, DO NOT build an Aegis item or frozen heart if you jungle or top buys one, the auras do not stack, and you are wasting your limited gold.

You want swiftness boots in 90% of games, as they allow you to stay in range for your w, roam, and make picks, but if you do not build an aegis item, CDR boots are useful to hit 45% CDR.

Ardent Censor: IDK if im spelling it right, but this item is not recommended, because despite karma's synergy with it, it is just a **** item. You can situationally build it if you dont build locket or cdr shoes.

Zekes: similar story to ardent, just not that great, fits a similar niche. CDR.

Guardian's Angel: It's a very carry orientated item, but since the buffs I would recommend it if you build mejai's. Only for the late game.

Liandrys: good item on Karma, but can only be bought for damage after you have bought your utility and CDR. Gives a lot of damage.

Void: I would build this if you are against 2 tanks, and your team is relying on you for damage, but usually liandrys is better.

Elixirs: go for the AP one 90% of the time, but elixir of iron is good if you team has no tank or you have mejais.
