I find It funny how lots of Kassadin's keep themselves to AP instead of trying a Hybrid, which is what I went for, It doesnt nuke as well, but it doesnt have to rely on Mana to do all of the work (Due to his starving of mana VERY quickly). Although Attack power/Attack speed/Ability power can be very risky, and force you to go to base often, it can be very nice when facing Spell Casters, As you will get more mana stolen per hit (As you will hit often)and you will be able to get more hits off instead of Rifting in using Sphere, Force Pulse, THen Multiple Rift walks to finish them off. It is a great build. But it seems that Kassadin is focused too much for Ability power, and there are almost none who go with Melee instead of Mage.
have you any idea on how useless a melee dps kassadin is? first of all, he is too fragile and have no real good abilities for being a dps. He only gets somewhat powerful late game. He gets VERY item dependant as dps. He is too squishy too survive long being in range of others attacks. if targeted he dies almost instantly. if going half dps and half nuke you won't be as useful as a fullout nuke.
Trust me, I've tried doing him powerful with dps, and even with lizard buff he was weak. I played both vs bots and real players. Kassadin really isn't meant to be a dps. If you want to play a squishy dps, Yi is a better choice.
-Your Fanboy, Pokimoki.
P.S. Lololol i feel silly commenting on your Kassadin build and sending you this, Your Kassadin build works very well! :D Hybrid Kassadin' are sexy.
Thank you man for this guide. It had helped me become a better Kassa player.
Although at this moment im not using it anymore (because of my own personal build) i still remember the "You want the Tear of the Goddess A.S.A.P. (even if it means going back)" and still use this as my first.
@badastronaught: if you would like to take clarity, just replace exhaust with it :) it works just fine, i just prefer the exhaust as an attack AND escape mechanism. I use kassadin an what he is, an assassin. Go in > exhaust their dps > kill > get OUT.
@Epic: Yes a tear of the goddess is DEFINITELY a necessary item on kassadin early :)
also, a kassadin with a manamune is actually pretty viable now, but grab the manamune late :)

I am very happy with every build I have seen of yours, they all look good and I cant wait to test them out( If I get those Champs :P)
I played against a melee kass once. He went bloodrazor, etc. That actually is a surprisingly good build, if used well. He would just rift in, hit you like 5 times, and you would be dead. Made me pretty frustrated
Thanks for yet an epic build.
