Introduction

HAMSTER BALL OF DOOM BUILD!

This is my Guide on how to build/play and other tips and why i build kennen this way i have been playing since season one been building him some other ways but i see this is the most reliable for me.

This guide you can top mid and even support your ad range i dont like going bot with a random but if its your friend you can get them fed but mostly this is just about mid and top if you want i prefer mid

About me uhh i like Kennen i main him he is fun in every match up i practice him 1v1 in mid with the three champs im having problems with i will put the three champs im having problems with, They will be in the Facing off in mid who will it be? section

This is how i build and it works i will try get some vids for my build and also this is my first ever finished build i have tested it out in many games and even with the wota nerf its still the same if this guide is great i might release my shen guide but my friends said dont make it it idk we will see i hope every one likes it please tell me what is wrong. Did i miss spell something or something wrong just say it =D

Runes

For seals i run Greater Seal of Vitality this gives a great bonus to kennen the health helps a lot for a player who is new to him and even if your getting F'ed at level 6 you get a bonus 58 hp.

So down to and this will give you the power to take on a normal ap mid

So now people ask me a lot about this why do you have why dont you go ap per lv i say that you cant tell whats going to be on the other team or if your going top or even a mid to mess with you( mostly ranked because they think he can counter you) i have tested out ap per lv and this, and i favor more then .

Masteries

i think 21-0-9 is the best for kennen you could go 21-9-0 but the items your taking is built around defence also your getting a first so it would be a waste.

I didn't know what to do with my extra one mastery point so i put it into for that one 1% spell vamp

Summoner Spells

PREFERREDThis spell will do the little bit of damage when they flash away and if you land most of your skills on them you will get a kill.

PREFERRED Now to Flash this spell could close the gap between you and your enemy OR this is your other escape spell from a three man gank mid i like this spell mostly because this gets me first blood.

OTHER SPELLS YOU CAN TAKE

i have not tryed this but i seen some kennens use it and it has some pros and cons to it, i dont take this because of Kennen's Lightning Rush i will test it out more when i have free time

Teleport can get you to mid faster or top faster but again Kennen has the speed from Lightning Rush to get back to lane faster but this could be used if you got ganked mid and your low hp and not enough for lv two boots

This skill has its moments when you could need it but i prefer this on a tank or support but you could take this if you go bottom and support them but i dont recommend this only if your laning partner needs it

So level one threw three your going to be getting all the skills at level three you can start doing combos i like to max first because it gives you more of a chance to get that on them then active to deal even more damage i then put two in at level five because of the bonus defence you get from it and you will need if your trying to get that first blood after all of that, i even it out for and i mostly max after but you can max first if you want but i like maxing out first you dont need to follow my skills sequence but if your top first because my friends hate to jungle so we double to and i just harass him behind the tower with it and is afraid to come out.
i will tell you what is the best to max against what champ in the
Facing off in mid who will it be? section.

Skill Explanations and Skill combos

Passive Mark of the Storm
Kennen's abilities add Marks of the Storm to opponents. Upon receiving 3 Marks of Storm, an opponent is stunned for 1 second and Kennen receives 25 energy. This stun is subject to diminishing returns on subsequent occurrences in a short time frame. Marks of storm last 8 seconds on the target.
This passive gives you your CC. Watch this passive and manage your stun marks well.

His Q Thundering Shuriken
Throws a shuriken that damages the first enemy it hits for 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+66% of ability power) magic damage and adds a Mark of the Storm. Cost 65 / 60 / 55 / 50 / 45 Energy.Range 900.

+This is a very strong spell can harass with Electrical Surge.
+Allows you to farm safely even if you are behind.
+This can check bushes with out you face checking
+When your all in mid waiting for someone to initiate you can just toss it out to poke

His WElectrical Surge
Passive: Every 5 attacks, Kennen deals magic damage equal to 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80% of his attack damage and adds a Mark of the Storm to his target. Active: Surges electricity through all nearby targets afflicted by Mark of the Storm, dealing 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+55% of ability power) magic damage and adding another mark. Cost 45 Energy. Range 800.

+Gives you bonus harass
+makes your auto attacks stronger
+ Electrical Surge with Thundering Shuriken is a other great combo
+ if your 1v2ing try to mark both of them then use Electrical Surge

His ELightning Rush
Kennen moves very fast and gains the ability to pass through units, dealing 85 / 125 / 165 / 205 / 245 (+55% of ability power) magic damage and adding a Mark of the Storm to any hostile unit he passes through. For 4 seconds Kennen gains his base movement speed again as a flat movement speed bonus, as well as increased armor and magic resistance and the ability to pass through units, but he is unable to attack. Kennen is refunded 40 energy if he passes through an enemy while using this spell, but can only gain this effect once. Lightning Rush deals half damage to minions. Armor and Magic Resist Bonus: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 Cost 110 Energy. Range 200.
+This skill is your mobility skill that gives you safety in lane and the ability to position in fights
+This wont do much damage but you can get that second mark on him or her or first mark

His R Slicing Maelstrom
Summons a magical storm that deals 80 / 145 / 210 (+33% of ability power) magic damage to a random enemy champion near Kennen every 0.5 / 0.4 / 0.33 seconds. This storm attacks up to 6 / 10 / 15 times and cannot hit the same target more than 3 times. A Mark of the Storm is applied to enemies on the first bolt they are hit by. Cost 40 Energy. Range 20.

+This skill is your AoE CC.
+This skill makes you respond to ganks well as well as making you very strong in teamfights.
+Perfect for running away and saving teamates.
+Does tons of damage =D

COMBOS!!!!!!!

The basic and most easy is the passive Electrical Surge and the active Electrical Surge how to pull off is get his passive ready then run close to them throw it on to them then spam click w till you active it i will refer this to the WW trick.

i will add more later but heres one more and its kind of hard to pull off

You want to Flash into Lightning Rush then land the mark on him with Lightning Rush then Slicing Maelstrom then you should be close enough to Thundering Shuriken to finish it off Electrical Surge into Ignite this is only to get first blood i will post a vid doing this for a better idea what im doing =D This move is called the flash combo in my build will use this term(Flash combo).

Items

So lets get down to the items, ok so this looks like recommend build but every Kennen uses theses items its the way the items are bought.

Item Sequence

I know 100% of you are going to be WTF WHY GET THAT? the reason by it is that it has the hp we all love and it comes with some health regen it is a great starter item it keeps me in mid for a long time and gives a little sustain.
Theses are the general items you should always try to get built during laning phase you should be able to get at least and your . Lets talk about the this is the most useful item for in my eyes i keep this item forever you should NEVER SELL IT TILL YOU NEED TO!

Item Sequence

so its about the mid game about 25mins or so you should have a or at least a after your abyssal you should rush this item is one of the best items for then after Zhonyas it should be around the 35min mark you should have half of your so now when you have enough you should sell your for a then build it into a and now your fully built. be happy and kill people =D

CORE ITMES!

Theses are the mains items you want

Theses will get you to 33.3 magic pen but in game says 35 magic pen but its a glitch or something.The reason i rush Boots is that this makes me more faster and pretty much ungankable and if top is having a hard time gank it or bot same thing and you can poke the jungler/person who is ganking you back off with the damage you are throwing at them with JUST

This is a real live saver and helps your team its a kind of support item if you have a other ap caster

This is your main magic resist and its kind of a underused item for getting 3rd in a build its mostly gotten last or its only for a heavy ap team comp, The aura is a other thing i like about this item.ONE OF THE MOST UNDER USED ITEM ITS A MUST FOR THIS BUILD DONT SKIP IT!

This item will make you not die as much and makes you pretty much unkillable and helps a lot if theres a on the other team or a other AoE skill champ.

This is the main HP item you have i would say i save this item till its about 45mins into the game i favor this item over any item in the beginning this item is for lane con stain. And if your top you can have that little bit of armor. Also this is the ONLY hp item you get threw this build cough cough..... SAVE IT

This is only when you're forced out of your lane and you have like enough for level one boots and have a little money left pick up 1-4 then run back to mid and farm just keep rushing boots and continue on with the build OR a other possible thing could happen is that you just have enough for level one boots+ a get theses and the left overs should go to 's happens to me about 2/10 times but it does happen

Other Items

i put this in other items because with just the items alone in the core build this makes it even better in most games i cant even reach this item thats why its in others its a really good item but

Some people might get this after Wota or even skip wota and rush this item, this item is not a must for this build i get it last just for the hp and extra ap and the slow This is my opinion i think this item is not worth the money when ever i try rush this item after wota i just flat die and it really feels that it bring me down. I ONLY RUSH THIS ITEM IF IM LIKE 12-0-0 BY THE 20MIN MARK

Now theses i get them when im losing a lane OR its a i love them when im playing a his stun is really short when you get theses babys i recommend them if your losing the fight in mid.

I only pick this up when i dont take a then i build it into a i like the active it saved me and my team a few fights i have been testing it out and i can say its worth the money + its a gold item dont build it into a locket till its about 35-45mins into the game so you can milk it in till the last moment.

A other gold item huh why on kennen i get this when im supporting bot and i get a or when im not doing that hot and my team will last till the late game i try to keep both gold items till i have to sell one i sell this first then .This item can really change the tide of the game if you really do reach late game.

This item is just for fun i would say i only build this when my team is going to win 100% of the time but im looking into this item and trying to go hybrid but i will try it some more later.

This item has potential but i have only used this about once or twice when i was noob i will try it out later.

So and three i don' start with this that often. i get this item when i face off a and i rush it into

I have never ran this i dont see the point of this but i guess you wanted to hit more harder or lacking the
flat ap from your runes.

Situational Items

Aegis of the legion

:i have gotten this item when we have been losing. when i get this you should ask someone on your team to get it, support or the person top maybe the jungler anyone really.Now why are you ask someone else to get a other one because the auras stack with each other and its a great item for team fights and i have won with double even triple this item is so worth the gold after all the team fights trust me its worth it. i would get this item after .

SELL YOUR WHEN YOU GET THIS ITEM

Need to find some bad situations ask me what would i buy i will try answer in the guide and it might help some people to.

Facing off in mid who will it be?

EZ: When i put a EZ in this guide i mean it will be EZ if you play correctly.

medium: Might be a challenge for some people but if your a viet Kennen player you will have no problem.

I AM GOING TO ADD REPLAYS TO THE MATCH UPS AND I WILL SAY WHAT I DID WRONG I WILL EVEN POST A GAME OF ME DOING BAD GOING UP WITH THIS CHAMPION I WILL RECORD THEM WILL LOL REPLAY THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE WHEN I FACE THEM AND IF THERE WORTH THE WATCH

Hard as HELL: Now the hard as HELL will be like fighting a losing battle and your the last one on your team alive in counter strike and with also 6 bullets and need to kill 6 people in 1:45 seconds.

Going from A-Z lets begin.

medium

Ahri

So is not that hard if you stay calm and try to avoid and same with down to how to beat her you're way more faster then her keep that in mind, MOST 's are really aggressive and they will try to hit you with just stay away from creeps and just last hit if want to poke at her get your passive then just throw it at her then active it.
You can try to Q her to death but they just stay behind the creeps.
IF YOUR SKILLED WITH KENNEN you can bait her to use and , how to do that well get away from the creeps so if she uses her skills they wont benefit from hitting them ok so your away from them you want to run towards her then back off its really simple and when you get the hang of it you know the range by eye if you have your Q out with out clicking it you can use that to see how long her range is and also ,and is not that fast you can use to get away. When she uses both skills she is completely vulnerable so rush her with and tag her with it then into if your fast enough you can get in and out fast and she wont be able to do anything when i start to record my games i will show a example.

EZ

Akali

So there is nothing to fear from her from 1-5 but when she gets her ult oh god the passive play from her will be no more and you will feel pain if you dont know how to play against her so lets begin. How to turn that aggressiveness into her to fear you basic rule if your kennen or any ranged person and i hope everyone exploits it IF THEY DONT HAVE RANGE AUTO ATTACK THERE A$$! at first they will be like oh its JUST 40 damage per hit blah blah 40 damage times 6 hits =240 clean damage remember auto attacks are like hacks they follow you they cant miss so you are free to auto attack her till about i would say lv 3-4 depends how much damage to her,Note this when she is level 6 she will be probably be pissed at you and might try to kill you when she gets it so be careful.Her main damage comes from this is a active and if she auto attacks you with it on you it will do TONS OF DAMAGE not lying.
Now how to stop her dead in her tracks you should never take her on with out your ONLY IF YOU HAVE MORE HP!ok so basic things you want to do is the WW trick if you dont know what the WW trick is its passive + the active .Other things you can do is Q her to death but the WW trick is a sure fire thing for doing damage.
OK she is level 6 now she will be coming at you with all shes got and really mad ready to kill you so basic things is that DONT MAKE THE FIRST MOVE wait for her to come at you its your turn to turn passive as a rock,When she does to you,you want to into to finish it off throw your at her its a easy combo i call it the RUSH ME NOW AND GET STUNNED move =D let her keep bashing her kicks into you and when you think its the right time flash combo her face and that's probably first blood, congrats you know how to play a mid =D.

Hard as HELL

Anivia

:Oh god i hate her so much -_- but thank god no one plays her, i think she is a really strong ap carry maybe one of the top 7 in my opinion.So playing her is not that bad from level 1-5 but when she turns level 6 oh god most of the times the jungler will GIVE HER BLUE BUFF! and this will make you go into passive farm mode.If you try to go for a kill remember SHE HAS TWO LIFES! Aka called this is one of the things i hate about her in the early game, so if your thinking she is going to destroy you ask for a gank at like lv 3-4 you do not want her to be getting kills or having a bigger lead its the worst fighting her and she is 2-0-0 at the 14min mark. What i max first for her is because it out ranges her ult combo with her E Please dont take her head on because you will not out damage her trust me!

Basic things to watch out for is her ult and she can combo that into her E
i think it lasts for 3-4 secs till the effect goes away,Also watch out for her Q this can stun it can only stun you if you're hit directly but it has splash damage to and it slows and you can still get hit by her and deal tons of damage.This is one of the champs im having trouble with, i will work on a better way to beat her dont worry =D.

Medium-Tiny bit of hard

:So this again one of the best ap nukers in the game this is my opinion,i would never 1v1 a if she had more hp or a item advantage then me because feeding is a really bad thing and can be a pain later on this is coming from a ranked game of me playing one and i thought i would of gone good but i got cocky because i was 4-0 then that turned into a 4-4 and it was a hard game but we won thank god this is a team game =D.
So just back off if she has thats her stun if you didnt know she will combo you hard early game and it hurts trust me just farm and ask for ganks you want her to be zoned and her out of the lane much as possible just WW combo to death but again be careful she can nuke you.Umm yea just ask for ganks OR if there is no jungler(i have a lot of theses games) ask for a top to gank mid it will have double the chance to get a kill.

EZ-medium

Brand

:He truly isnt that hard after that nerf,So things to watch out is his this is easy to dodge i like to bait this when im sitting in the middle of the creeps just standing there if you do get hit by this he will 90% of the time try to hit you with and stun you for 2 seconds i think.You can out play if you play super aggressive he is a positional AoE skillshot champ so play super aggressive and zone him.If you mess up and he lands a few hits back off and regain some hp or go back for some boots and pots.Things i do when i know im in the lead or he has less hp is i rush him and zone him bad if he is about 60% hp flash combo and kill him.

Hard AS HELL!

Cassiopeia

:This is one of the champs im having problems with.So lets break it down Shes a pain in the butt she does tons of damage so the best thing i can say is just farm if you're going to play aggressive max your W so you can hit her at any angel. Ask for a gank like all i can say is when its out of the laning phase you can pretty much smash her face as .

I'm sorry for this poor guide here^ its just i dont really face her

Fiddlesticks

:He is not a problem for you at all, you counter him with your stun.
So the first thing he will probably get his silence it wont do that much damage then his at level two then his fear once he drains something just stun him simple as that he will just silence you and then what? he cant follow up with anything, with your passive W just WW him to death then Q him then when you turn to level 6 he is done.Its a pretty much a one sided battle. i only fear if he is jungling and he just pops out of no where and deals TONS OF DAMAGE maxing first is the best.

EZ-Mediumish depends on the skill level your at

Fizz

:Not hard at all.Most 's think they can push around the little hamster and get away with it and this is one thing you take advantage of,ok so down to playing him in mid fast forward to level 3 you have all your skills and he will be trying to rush you ect.
When he rushes you go into then it should tag him then spam W if he is good enough he will dodge it but most of them are slow and i even am saying with the good 's it will hit then the passive throw it at him and bad stun that should make him back off but most 's are cocky and will keep rushing you so you do the same combo to him and mess him up.
If you want to play aggressive get your passive W then throw it at him then rush him he will most likely hop away on then when he gets back down you use the active and he will be probably be away from the creeps and have a free shot at him with your Q .I LOVE FIZZ's WHO DO THIS!ok so your at 545 hp and he has the same hp and your under your tower MOST 's WILL BE SUPER COCKY AND GO FOR THE KILL he will Ult and this is were i get crazy i take it to the face because his ult does about 200 damage then when he rushes you,use then ult into your W then let the tower get the kill and be happy tower diver is 0-1 and you have enough for some boots and some pots and maybe even a book =D.
DONT MAKE THE FIRST MOVE LET THE COCKY ONE MAKE THE FIRST MOVE.
Also at lv 1-2 auto attack him to death he has no sustain so the more the damage the better and easyer the lane i do this in all my games and it works perfect

EZ-mediumish

Galio

:He is pretty easy with my build because you have 33.35 magic pen when you have and thats pretty much gg but this is not a insta win for you this is only if you play well.OK lets get down to what to do he is melee so auto attack him from level 1-4 why stop at level 4? because he mostly would raise his Q and this move hurts.Try to dodge most as possible it hurts and thats his main damage dealer skill also when he has it raises his armor, magic Resistance, and it heals him from what ever hits him so try not to hit him when he has it up.When i play a i play super aggressive and you want to do as much damage as possible in ranked or normal it does not matter, you want to put in his mind you are not afraid of him your a ap carry hamster how to deal damage i would mostly rush him with and 80% of the time he will try to hit you with but if he is rushed he will probably miss [{Galio]]'s are not that good at aiming it at there selfs i learned that when i started to play veteran 's and when you mark him use then if you cant hit him with its ok just run away and dodge his and do the WW trick on him.
If you took to many to the face just back off last hit and wait till level 6 then ask for a gank this will improve the chances of killing him with the gank and you do want to kill him with the gank.
If your both doing fine and half hp things veteran 's would do is a flash combo and his flash combo is pretty bs i would say his is more better then yours and if his lands thats a gg your dead and your team will most of the time call you a noob this is why i play super aggressive and make him fear you this is the most worst possible place to be in my opinion.
The number one thing to do is harass him and make him fear you.
When playing a your mind set wants to be i wanna KILL THAT DUDE RAWR! HAMSTER POWERS HOOOOOOOOO! just poke and poke

Medium

Gragas

He can be a pain if you get hit by his at low levels,main things to do is auto attack him away from the creeps so if he throws and it misses you it wont help him by getting creeps.Harass him away from creeps also throwing your Q doing the WW trick just stay away from the creeps.There is not really a plain to kill this guy i call him fluffy because he gets a little hp from his passive and he gets mana for free from , if your going to try to kill him the best thing is to rush him with most of the times he will into you but you want to move to the side at the last moment when you hit him
this is very important or you will be screwed then press W then ult into ignite then Q to finish him off or auto attack him after.Don't push when he is level 6 and there jungler is like or Anyone really why don't we want to push out? because his ult will push you towards them and thats a free kill to them.

I dont really face players so this is based off the good players i faced do not underestimate them because you will take a barrel to the face.

EZ-medium

Karthus

I think karth is a one trick pony you might ask why because he just gets wrecked by . When i play in mid i keep in my mind that im the better player and my champion the great is better then i have beat alot of great mid some from the 1200 elo to the 1600's with this mind set you can over come the fear of his and also you can stop his ult if he is alive i have stopped game changing 's that would of lost our games but lets get down to beating this dead guy.
The role you want to play with him is quick on your feet get use to his You can take a few hits from hit but i dont like to and it can end up trading kill for kill.If he is aggressive push back with and tag him with it and run back and active Most cant keep up and this will be your trick to tell him to back the hell off.A good should take and you might ask why take because you don't see going for kills like the worst thing you could do is fight him when your full hp and he is he will win the fight with i dont expect to take in normal or low elo games like 1400 below.Punish them for staying back when they have about 100-400 hp flash combo them every time you have a chance.

How i play kennen

How i would play this little hamster in mid, lets say its someone easy like Fizz
i would play super aggressive from level 1-3 with just auto attacks you take advantage that he has no way to hit you back only when he has all three skills he can do something but if you keep auto attacking him he should be at least half hp so if he was a smart player he would try to do damage to you and to make you back off but this is where the super aggressive part comes in to play you want him to fight back it should be at level 5-6 he will try get lane dominance you push as hard as you can to zone him from getting to level 6 aka his ult you want to have this step ahead of him if he is level 5 and your level 6 with all most full hp you can do the flash combo and kill him pretty easy.

Lets say your losing your lane and having a hard time

Don't you worry i have off games to just ask for ganks if the jungler is dumb like most junglers in normal/people below 1200 elo just farm last hit and also get then go on with the normal build, dont be afraid with team fights but dont go in first let at least one person to start it.. Be a team player if theres a fight be there i have won alot of games with me losing my lane and doing a come back at late game keep this in mind if you have lost mid and only going like 4-6-15 stick with your team you will do more damage with them then with out.
