Introduction
Hi, I'm MrOganad, I play on the EuW server and this is my guide for Lee Sin as a jungler. I realy like playing this champion because of the utility it can bring to your team during the game, by shielding your teammates from a killer ignite or by kicking away your enemies for a sucessful escape.

Cons
- Falls off a bit at late game - Hard to master - Dragon's Rage is easily used the wrong way - Needs 1-2 early ganks to be good |
Lee Sin is mainly an assassin so in the masteries, I try to max his damage potential with Weapon Expertise and Executioner and also increase his sustain and damage in the jungle with Butcher and Bladed Armor .
- Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: More AD = Faster clear time
- greater mark of Armor Penetration: With these runes I'm able to ignore most of the armor at the jungles camps and also improve the damage I deal to tankier champions early on.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: Late game my build lacks the Magic Resist to go against AP champions and these runes help fight that issue.
- Greater Seal of Armor: The extra early armor makes Lee Sin more tankier and easier to sustain at the jungle
-
Flurry: This passive allows Lee Sin to sustain the amount of energy he has. Try to autoattack at least once before using your next ability so u take advantage of his passive.
-
Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike (Q): Your bread-butter ganking skill. Hit it and you're a hero. Miss it and your chance is gone. Use this to reveal nasty enemies in bushes and stealthed enemies like Twitch or Evelynn.
Tips and Tricks- Wait for the enemy to flash before u activate Resonating Strike to secure the kill.
- Use it to escape a fight in the jungle by hitting a jungler monster over the wall and activating Resonating Strike to it.
- This skill can be used to scout the brushes and give vision of Baron Nashor and Drake.
-
Safeguard / Iron Will (W): is what makes Lee Sin so much fun to play. Use this to jump to wards, save teammates and to sustain yourself in the jungle.
Tips and Tricks- Double tap this while u jungle if u need the life steal for early sustain.
- Always have a ward ready to be placed to escape.
- You can use this to close-in on a enemy and hit your skillshots better and easier.
-
Tempest / Cripple (E): Lee Sin's AOE skill. Can be used to reveal stealthed enemies and also to slow them down for 4 seconds, allowing you or your team to get the kills.
Tips and Tricks -
Dragon's Rage (R): Kicks your target back dealing huge damage to the target and to anyone that he collides with. This can be used to escape an ambush or cc the enemy team if aimed properly.
Tips and Tricks- Landing your Q, using your ultimate to kick the enemy and then activate Resonating Strike can deal massive amounts of damage.
- Remember that if the champion that u kick hits other enemies they also take damage and get knocked up.
- Use this to kick someone across walls to make your team win the teamfight or to escape!
I max Safeguard / Iron Will first because I need the life steal and armor to have better sustain in the jungle. Then I max Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike for the extra damage and lower cooldown. Tempest / Cripple is maxed last for its utility in teamfights, revealing stealthed enemies and slowing them down.
Note: AA = auto attack
Item Sequence
EARLY
-
: You get armor from Wriggle's Lantern so this is usually the best option (you get magic resist and tenacity for cc). Consider switching these for Ninja Tabi if you're getting curbstomped by that Riven or Caitlyn.
-
: This item is essential for Lee Sin at early game. It gives him all he needs: armor, some attack damage, life steal for better sustain, 25% for huge damage on jungle camps and a WARD (which can be used to escape with Safeguard/Iron Will for example).
At this point you probably already tried to gank a bit, maybe got one or two kills/assists. The goal with the following items is to strike the issues you found while ganking. Early on buying two of these is enough.
-
: Grab this if you're having trouble at staying close to the enemy champions. It also gives some health and attack damage so its a safe choice in most games.
-
: Your top laner is having trouble vs the super tanky Malphite? This will help you when u go gank top again, by shredding through that big chunk of armor and dealing tons of damage. The most risky item of the 3: choose carefully.
- : "Omg stupid *insert AP carry* and her/his burst!". If you feel like this, rush hexdrinker and worry no more. The magic resist of your boots and this item + the shield will make your ganking life on Lee Sin much easier.
MID
Depending on what u bought at early game, you get 2 of the following items at mid game by completing them.
-
: Provides with a reliable slow and alot of hp so u can survive better in teamfights.
-
: You will deal even more damage to those tanky champions and deal almost true damage to the squishies. You also get some health, cooldown reduction and 50 attack damage.
- : Unique passive alows you to be a bigger threat the lower your hp is. This item is very expensive compared to the other two which why i usually buy it by the end of the game.
Optional Items
DAMAGE
-
: AOE synergizes well with Lee Sin's kit and playstyle. It also provides you with a life steal substitute for the Wriggle's Lantern that u end up selling at late game.
-
: Good defensive stats together with an attack damage boost. It also comes with a Quicksilver Sash helping you go through the enemy cc.
-
: Super expensive and not really viable but need to mention it since the damage boost is ridiculous. Buy this if YOUR TEAM is snowballing super hard and you just want to have some fun x)
- : A bit more viable than Infinity Edge since it provides you with life steal, but i feel like there are better options.
TANKINESS
-
: Best item for Lee Sin overall. Lots of hp, armor and provides you an important passive and active that can help your team win teamfights.
-
: More armor and attack damage. Good synergy with Frozen Mallet and Black Cleaver since both of them give u health.
-
: If noone on your team is building this and you don't really need a specific item, build this to help your teammates.
-
: Buy this if the enemy team thinks you are super important and focus you alot.
- : Honorable mention. Not really viable on Lee Sin but if your team really needs you to play the tank role, this should helpful.
Enchantments
-
: Safest option if u don't want to think alot about this. Basic increase on movement speed.
-
: Good option if u feel like the slow from Frozen Mallet isn't enough.
-
: Really cool enchantment. I usually buy this one because it allows me to get back on the battlefield faster and to counter the enemy team attempts at split-pushing.
I really like playing Lee Sin because it is very versatile and can adapt to alot of situations and bring utility to your team. It's a very safe pick for a jungler thanks to the sustain and damage it has.
This guide isn't completed yet ("u don't say"). Feel free to upvote or downvote it and make comments so that i can improve it.
I would like to thank jhoijhoi for the awesome guide and template and also for the person that is holding the guide writing contest (can't remember or find the name sorry xD), since why i wouldn't think of writing a guide if it wasn't for that (and yes, i know i don't fit the post and rep requirements to participate in the contest).
