Aatrox mid isn't that off-meta anymore, so you might see this a bit.Anyway just don't get hit by his Q's (especially early game!)try and poke him with Q+E, then all-in before level 6(ecpecially if you have ignite!)After 6 just try and get rid of his Ultimate then fight him as normal.(Btw he can dash through your wall if he knows what hes doing)
Ahri
Alot of people have trouble with Ahri but it isn't too hard in my opinion to get over her.Try and kite her Q and then stun her and E, this chunks her quite hard.Dodge her charm and you win the trade.After 6 though you need to bait her ultimate and make sure it's on CD before initiating an all-in.
Akali
Akali sounds like hell, mobility damage and invisibility so you cant land your E, but it's fine after 6.before 6 just poke her, after 6 just place your ultimate on her smokescreen and she'll either be forced to take alot of damage or to exit her smokescreen giving you a free E, or alot of damage.
Anivia
100% Skill matchup, just dodge the Q and you should win.
Annie
Take cleanse, NEVER underestimate Annie's burst and solo-carry potential, play safe, she CAN get through your egg, before or after level 6.If you land a Q however, you win the trade.
Aurelion Sol
Not very hard, only thing to be really careful of is his roams (snowbally roams), Also be careful of his stun (if he's walking towards you walk towards him and you'll dodge it)
Azir
A good Azir will absolutely destroy you, high mobility amazing poke and an ultimate making you EXTREMELY vulnerable to ganks. Play safe and abuse his weak early (while staying away from his soldiers).However not many are skilled at this champion, so this could be in your favour.
Cassiopeia
Cassio is pretty busted right now, be extremely careful of her godly level 1, if you managae to survive level 1 then you outrade her, but don't extend the trade as she wins it then with her constant E+AA combo.Basically, survive level 1, and take short trades that you know you can win.
Diana
Diana is a pretty hard matchup 2 dashes a pull, an ulti negate, and shes still tanky (kinda).For Diana you have to abuse her Pre-6 Insanely hard however, Post-6 Just play safe and freeze or set up a gank.I would not underestimate this champion whatsoever as she can 100-0 you very quickly.However,you do outscale her.
Ekko
Not really that much of a problem just dodge his Q and don't walk into his W and you'll be fine, make sure you don't get baited by his ultimate tho (gives him the health he was on 10 seconds ago)
Fizz
Fizz is a really hard matchup, a dash, invulnerability and high burst, try to abuse him pre-6 but after that I would be careful.Bait his E to set up a gank, also remember he can dive you very easily, so don't overstay.
Galio
I would rank Galio higher but seeing as to the nerfs he got in patch 9.2 he's not too much of a problem, if you manage to escape his taunt you will be fine, a tip is to dodge his Q in early game walk towards him, and hit him with a Q if your own, he's pretty easy to abuse though.
Garen
Take corruption and stomp him.
Heimerdinger
Pre 6 he's annoying, after 6 just ult minions for free money.
Irelia
Not seen too much in mid anymore tbh, just take corruption and be careful level 1.
Karthus
He's super squishy and you out damage and out scale him, 1 combo after 6 = 1 kill, definitely take ignite and play super aggressive
Kassadin
Anivia's hardest matchup, he is now my ban, I strongly reccomend you ban him as well, but if you ever encounter him, take Spellbook and tp, pre-6 hes hard to poke down because of his passive, but try to.Post 6 just sit there ult waves and NEVER engage, unless jungler help.Reason he is so hard is his Q stop your Glacial storm, he jumos onto you and burst you quickly, try to hold your Q for when he jumps onto you.
Katarina
Kata is an annoying matchup due to her high mobility, however she is quite squishy and relatively easy to kill if you land a stun on her.Also you can cancel her ulti with your Q or by placing a wall directly on top of her when shes ulting
Lissandra
Take cleanse and you will be fine, she's easy to abuse and can't do too much in lane.
LeBlanc
A really hard matchup considering her mobility, remember that you can Q her in the middle of her W and cancel it, try and align your Q with her W return point so you will hit her.She has very high burst and is an opponent to be reckoned with.I recommend spell book or swapping out the secondary runes for a bit of sustain, however if you know you can take this match up then do it aggressively.
Lux
You outdamage her and her Q is generally easier to dodge, just eat her up for freelo.
Malzahar
Take his spell shield down and be wary of his poke, honestly atfter 6 it's just a game of 'who pushes harder, but a cool trick I've learnt is that you can disable his spell shield by placing your W right on top of him (you can also stack ,anaflow this way).Also it's quite easy to set up ganks on him.
Morgana
A counter pick to Anivia, just push, and try to set up ganks, quite likely you won't solo kill her.
Neeko
Really just a skill matchup, if you can avoid getting hit by her E then you will be fine, although it is worth mentioning that her E+Q combo chunks insanely hard.
Orianna
I haven't played too much against Orianna but if you can avoid her poke and not gt baited by her E shield then you will be fine.She does poke hard from distance though.
Ryze
Abuse his trash early game and stomp him, later though he becomes quite tanky with all his shields and stuff, so he is hard to kill.Really just watch out for ganks though and try staying out of range of his W.
Syndra
Just judge where she's going to E (stun) from the position of her balls, she has the highest burst of any champion in the game at level 6, so be careful of a level 6 all in.Try not to fight her when there are too many balls around.
Talon
Start coruption play SUPER aggressive level 1, avoid his W poke at level 1 and get 1/2 kills on him before 6.After 6 if he tried roaming shove as hard as you can to deny him farm.You can't match his roams at all however.
Teemo
Literally eat him alive, easiest matchup EVER, honestly he should've dodged, if he gets caught out he's dead, his MS is useless and so is his blind, if there's a teemo stomping top on the other team swap with your top laner and be suprised at how easy it is to kill him, swap even if your top laner is even when you get your RoA.
Twisted Fate
Take cleanse and try do be very wary of his yellow card gank setups, if he roams, he'll miss 1-2 waves, and constantly ping your team when TF has ulti up.
Veigar
Just be careful of E ganks and eat him, abuse his terrible early.
Vel'Koz
Avoid his full combo as it will 100-0 you before you realise what happened, you outscale him and have better teamfight so jsut force teamfights (which are even) and kill him.Most vel'koz players take heal which can be annoying
Vladimir
Pretty hard to lane against with infinite sustain and no mana costs, abuse him with his long pool cooldown 28 seconds at rank 1, try to not let him get the empowered Q on you.
Xerath
Ughhh, if you really have to pick Anivia into this take spellbook and teleport, hes super annoying due to is insane poke and sustain, you can barely get close to him, if you do though, you outdamage him.
Yasuo
A hard but winnable lane for Anivia, never fight him level 1 and be careful level 2 all-ins, if you can get a freeze going that would be great, Auto or E to get his passive off and abuse his 24 rank 1 Wind wall cooldown, if you play this right you can win lane and even kill him.A tip is seeing as most yasuo's dive the second they hit 6 is, bait him into diving you, wall him off and BM him hard
Zed
Pretty easy, rush stopwatch/seeker's and you won't do terrible, he has horrible lvl 1 and 2 so abuse that as much as you can.If he roams, shove.The rune perfect timing is quite helpful with this champion by the way.
Zoe
Honeslty take cleanse, because who wants to get DOUBLE ignited, dodge her E and you damage her, if she misuses her R aim your Q where she will come back up, she's quite annoying to deal with and i recommend strongly, to build some MR to avoid getting 1 shot.
Vayne
Condemn (Vayne E) plus Anivia W = Easy kills
Jax
Have a friend who plays alot of Jax, always have success playing with him.
Braum
Pretty good, tanky,(almost all tanky picks do well with Anivia)
Thresh
Hook + Q = Kill
Zac
He's great because he can just ult everyone into your glacial storm and then if you land a 4-5 man stun you should win the fight.

Who doesn't want to main frozen KFC? All jokes aside, you should main/play Anivia because:
+She has high burst +One of the best wave clears in the game +One of the best champions when mastered +Really Good engage and disengage +Really good at the moment for SoloQ +Insanely good team fight +Very good scaling + Her W is amazing at forcing out flashes + Her passive is GA but better + Good outplay potential + Enemies don't expect burst, in lower elos they have no idea what your champion is or does + Can carry hard with AoE stun Ultimate and can hard-carry teamfights. + Everyone forgets about your passive and dives, you flash mastery as they die to tower and watch them complain
