Introduction
This guide is focused on Summoner's rift, mid-lane mostly, but may be used for top-lane as well.
Mordekaiser is one of the heaviest mage in the game. The strogenst opponent your enemy gonna have on the lane.
The most difficult thing your enemy will face is that u easily harras him, while the enemy can only remove your shield.
- Greater Mark of Magic Penetration We need it for starting magic penetration, especially good when enemy has magic resist, though it can be changed to Greater Mark of Ability Power
- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist If we stand at the mid-lane - in 90% we gonna have an ap-carry as an enemy. That's why we need magic resist. Though if we stand on the top-lane or you have a non-mage enemy against you - you can change these runes to greater glyth of potency
- Greater Seal of Armor Armor is always needed. In both situations: against enemy jungler, that would like to gank us, against enemy non-mage if he lanes against us
- Greater Quintessence of Ability Power 5 abillity power is never useless, though u can change it to Greater Quintessence of Health or Greater Quintessence of Spell Vamp
Meta Spells
Flash: Greatest escape spell, plus sometimes chase spell |
Ignite: The spell to make sure our enemy is dead, good in combo with our ult Children of the Grave |
Possible Spells
Heal: The name of it tells everything |
Exhaust: To make sure our enemy won't run away from us |
Ghost: To chase our enemy or escape from him |
The passive Iron Man: some % of our magic damage converts to a shield, the capacity of shield increses by level of champion
We are maxing Siphon of Destruction: easy farm and harras our enemy (with lots of practicing you can harras enemy, that's under tower, and run away, so we damage him and don't take damage from tower)
Second priority is Mace of Spades: attacks up to 4 targets, but used with your auto-attack only (does additional damage if there are no nearby enemies with auto-attack target)
Latest priority is Creeping Death: can be used on any friendly target including the champion himself. It's good to use it in melee fights with enemy to get your sheild repelished and additional magic resist and armor
And of course our ultimate Children of the Grave: does magic damage equal to % of maximum hp of our enemy champion, if the enemy champion dies during the effect we will get his ghost on our side. Prefered to use on enemy ad-carry. Better use the ult in combo with Ignite
Starting items
Early game items
- : Most vital item for Morde, that we will upgrade to in late game. As you might noticed all of Mordekaiser's spell cost his health. That's why spell vamp is vital for us
- : Movement speed and magic penetration. I think there's nothing to explain
Core items
-
: If we stand against ap-carry - we need some magic resist. Also we need to decrease enemies' magic resist. This item perfectly contains both (You may build this item in late game only in case if your lane enemy is not mage)
- : This item makes Morde more tanky via health. You may wanna make your Morde more tanky. In that case I suggest get , though with instead of Morde gonna be more tanky and less damaging. So i suggest . It's the best combination of Abillity power and Hp
Late game items
-
: A must-have item for every mage. Lots of ability power and perfect passive - additional 30% of current ability power
-
: Additional ability power and magic penetration
- : More ability power and spell vamp than . You might ask why we don't upgrade to . As I think Morde doesn't need extra attack damage and/or Life steal. Plus it's extra expensive. So I prefer
Consumables
-
:Always buy it when you go from your base to the lane. This item may save your life someday
- sight ward:When I go to mid lane I always buy 2 sight ward, so I can see when enemy jungler comes to me to gank. In this case I'm 90% ungankable
-
:To destroy enemies' wards and detect invisible champions
-
:In case when enemy jungler has invisible abilities or we lane with a hero that has invisibilities
-
:When we fully built Morde and need more ability power. Or in case we need some cooldown reduction
-
:When we fully built Morde and need more Hp
- :When we fully built Morde and there is nothing to spend money on
