Death to all who oppose Morgan
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I will be showing you how I build Morgana and how powerful she can get if built correctly, if you go for the AP version of Morgana she will be stronger but slower, so you have to choose carefully, Morgana is a really OP champion when you build her correctly but if you don't have anything to boost her e.g. Masteries and Runes then she is very weak so it is advisable that you do put them on, also Morgana is a flat AP champion so if you follow the masteries you should have no problem.
Pros / Cons
[*] She has good burst, ideal for keeping champions away.
[*] A solid spell shield to protect from magic damage.
[*] A long snare to trap the enemy and kill them with ease.
[*] Good lane sustain can keep the lane pushing without the need to go back for mana all the time.
[*] She has short ranged auto attack which is not good to say she is ranged.
[*] No sustained damage not good when you need the damage high.
[*] Fairly sizable cooldowns prevent you from casting spells when needed.
[*] Is entirely skill shot oriented not very good if you don't have a good aim.
My Runes are all there to boost her AP/Mana/Armour, I have chosen 3 AP Quintessence because this will give you a good boost beginning boost, the Mana is mainly there to help you usde your spells more and get faster regen. Fianlly this is required for almost every champion, Armour all 9 Seals have the armor on, this is to give Morgana some extra protection from melee champions likeDarius and Taric. Once you hit level 30 you can buy all the runes and place them, this will give you so much boost that you can kill your enemies with ease.
I have chosen 23 Offence and 7 Utility because Morgana is an AP champion and therefore I decided to put 23 on Offence all to do with AP, the 7 on Utility is there only to help Morgana with speed/Mana/Regen this will give you a fighting boost and with more mana you can pound your enemy with spells and catch up to them when they flee and kill them then quickly get out. I chose the Executioner because when you get your enemy below 50% of their health you do an extra 5% damage, and if you snare them then use your tormented soul and finally soul shackles if needed you are surely going to kill them. If you fail in that a couple of basic attacks should do the trick.
Ok so if you go AP instead of speed then you will have the advantage, however if you are mid-laning then the enemy will probably do the same so be careful. When I have faced a few enemies who have done this I try to kill the minions fast, this comes in handy when you use yourDark Binding. The next item that you will want to get is boots or upgrade boots if you can afford them, this is here to help you catch/ escape an enemy. Also the Sorcerers shoes are ideal for Morgana as they do an extra 15+ magic penetration and 45 movement speed.
After you get the boots you can get an upgrade for them either Alacrity or Homeguard, you do not have to do this but it can be useful for a couple of things one is chasing the other is running.
Next you will build the Rod Of Ages, now this is an essential item for Morgana as it is very powerful especially if you can get it in early game. The next thing you would buy is the Rabadon's Deathcap, this is to give you a massive boost on AP. Next you will buy Zhonya's hourglass this also gives you AP but also armor too and it can give your champion invulnerable for 2.5 seconds. The next thing you would buy is the Deathfire grasp, this will give you not only AP but also a 15 cooldown reduction, also it does 15% of the maxiumum health with magic damage and then amplifies it by 20% for 4 seconds, this has a 60 second cooldown. Finally you will sell Doran's Ring for Liandry's Torment, this gives you Health and AP, this does +15 magic damage and also burns the enemy for 3 seconds, if the unit is slowed then it doubles the damage.
Items - Speed
Ok so if you go Speed instead of Ap then you will have a slight disadvantage if they have a Doran's ring, however if you are mid-laning then the enemy will have a Dorans ring be careful. The next item that you will want to get is Dorans ring, this is here to help you do more damage.

I tend to getDark Binding first because it does a lot of damage and also trap's them even though they can attack they cant move so it is good if they try to get away and run past your turret. I then get Tormented Soil now i use this once i trap them this adds a bit of damage while i attack them with my basic attacks. I don't tend to get my black shield till later because I don't use it that much, this is because it is only good for magic attack but not damage itself so you will still receive some damage, however it is good at magic abilities like Trundles slow i can easily get past that and Lux's snare this is very useful against Lux as it rebounds some of her ultimate as well. I get soul shackles at level 6 as usual because it does a lot of damage as that also traps them.
By level 10 I have fully upgraded Dark bindings, by level 13 I have fully upgraded Tormented Soul. By level 15 I have fully completed Soul Shackles and then by level 18 I have fully upgraded Black Shield.
Morgana can be an excellent team player, she can push mid lane well and she can stun enemies as well as get a whole team stun with her ultimate and do a lot of damage to them, this is useful when team fights are happening and she stuns the whole of the enemy team this gives you a good advantage even if its only for a few seconds, in those few seconds 2-3 enemy champions can die and if your lucky the whole team, this can let you have the time to push the turrets and win the game.
Morgana's W is calledTormented soil, this can kill minions quickly and get the gold for it too, this lets you kill minions fast ad get the gold so you can buy items, this also means that you push the turrets quicker.
Morgana's unique skills are mainly stuns that do a lot of damage, her Q -Dark Binding is ideal, it stuns enemies and does incredible damage, her ultimate works in the same way but it has a small time were it deals damage then if it stuns it does more damage, this can be used to make the whole team stunned if timed right. Her shield can protect a team mate who is low health from a nasty magic damaging spell or to protect yourself too. The tormented soil is useful for getting rid of waves of minions as well as damaging enemies when you snare them.
There are some champions that can really bug you likeAnnie for example, you kill all the minions and you get her to half health, you use your Dark binding and almost kill her but she uses her stun and flashes away, if you tower dive you will probably get hit by 1-2 turrets depending on your urge to kill her, however sometimes you might fail and try to go back, if she goes around into the jungle and hides she can catch you off guard even with her low health if shes fires tibbers on you and then hits her stun, she can pick up the kill so place wards at each bush and especially do this if they have a jungler. When you are beating the mid lane they will call the jungler to gank, this is why you have wards placed down so that you can always keep an eye out, if you see them fall back to the turret and ask for reinforcements, this is because if they kill you then Mid lane might not be covered and they can push the turrets, this gives them gold so they can buy, also if you constantly die you will feed them and they will just become too OP for your team and you will lose the battle.
Creeping / Jungling
I haven't really seen a Jungle Morgana but I have heard that she is really good, even though she is not supposed she can be very useful and carry the team. So why don't you try it out. Always remember to have smite on so that you can kill the monsters quicker.
Overall Morgana can be OP if specked correctly, She does have her downsides but if you are a good aim then you should do no problem with her. Thank you for Using my guide I hope it comes in use for you on the battle grounds, Hope to see you there, if I have made any mistake please message me and help me make my guides better for you. My name is Zinq Murphy and I look forward to meeting you on the field.
This is only my second Build and i'm not 100% sure on all of the stuff for example the Abilities and the runes are not the best, but this is what I would use and I do well when I use them, you do not have to use this, also i'm not 100% sure on how the images are so big but I will look into it and hopefully my other builds will be a lot better :).
