Wouldnt you benefit a lot more with attack speed runes over ad runes?
I mean because of passive with stun and extra damage.

it's an option but I personally prefer AD or full tank.

  • Matchup section is standard,
  • Runes make sense to me, I like building armor quints on many people.
  • Matchup section is fine, but perhaps some screenshots of how ultimate should be positioned in different circumstances, some people enjoy the examples and it allows them to better judge when to ult.
  • Items look fine so far, maybe mention that LCS supports often rush Ruby Sightstone due to the fact that it also lowers totem cooldowns, ALSO Redemption is OP and imo should always be built on support
  • Roaming section is well thought out and useful, timing section is outdated, dragons and baron are automatically timed.
  • Also I think you could benefit from more screenshots/visuals in the gameplay section, there are maybe 4 sections that are just heading and text, screenshots add variety!
  • Guide ends pretty abruptly, not sure what to add but add something to make that ending seem more natural

Overall I would give this guide an 8/10, (the only 10 ever is Haunting the Jungle). Fixing these issues puts this guide at an 9/10 (mainly the screenshots and visuals).

Visually, this guide looks pretty good! Keep up the good work!

MissMaw, this is great guide. thank you very much.

can you teach me, recovery vs unyielding. why u don't choose unyielding?
i think unyielding good for W skill.

MissMaw (663) | December 2, 2016 3:51am
Thanks for the kind words, seiren! ♥

Unyielding is actually quite weak. It amplifies only your bonus armour/MR, so not your base armour. Starting the game with about 25ish bonus armour means you'll get a whopping 1.25 armour. It doesn't scale with levels, it only scales with items from that point, meaning eventually once you buy a bunch of armour items, it'll be alright; but until then it's pretty useless. You won't get any armour very quickly either because you need to buy sightstone and boots before you do that.

Recovery on the other hand, although not particularly strong itself, is more useful in the early game since it'll help you deal with poke.

I'll be sure to include better explanations in the guide soon™, as I'm working on changing the guide up visually and updating it with all the season 7 changes so stay tuned :)

Hey, just an update, thanks to your guide (E between adc and opp adc in lane and more) I was able to do rly well. I went 1/7/47! I'm mastery level 3 on Braum on 2 accounts (one has been banned) and I feel more confident with Braum now, especially knowing about his 'bread and butter' aka all skills and when to utilise them! I went 1/7/47 as Braum in a 70min game and it felt great! Pls be proud of me senpai

It's fine if you have no ther options, I guess. I don't recommend that setup though. You should work on getting health seals (they're good on pretty much any champion), flat MR glyphs and different quints. GP10 quints are pretty useless in my opinion.

Hey thanks for the kind words friend. The stealth wards may refer to Sightstone wards but I should indeed update that chapter. My Janna guide has a more up to date warding section, in addition to other chapters to do with supporting that may benefit you. So maybe check that out in the meantime :) Thanks again, I appreciate the kind words :)

oh yes, one last thing, I am new to the game as probably many of the readers will be, so the outdated map used in your warding tips is quite confusing yet still understandable, and maybe you could remove the bits about stealth wards?

Probably the best guide I've ever read. I came here to get a better understanding of what I should be aiming for when playing Braum and I'm leaving with so much more. Hopefully this knowledge can boost me to higher elo's and more consistent teammates. I made a mobafire account just to upvote this guide, once again thank you.

@Jairrai: I suggest using the AD page.

@HomelessSkittle: If you want, but unless you spam Q you're not going to run out of mana anyway. Bandit is stronger on ranged chars, but it's far from worthless still. I would keep it personally.

@The Howme: Indeed, she's the only champion I really don't want to play Braum against, because she can nullify your stun effortlessly. Good luck in your future games, and thanks :)

The Howme | March 6, 2016 10:42am
Yesterday I learned the effects of playing against Morgana. I really grasp the depth on why she is a big challenge for a Braum player compared to the other champions I have been facing. Your guild is very helpful, thank you for sharing and taking your time to create it. I definitely improved a lot as a result and contribute a lot more to my team even though I still have places to improve. Like having to practicing avoiding poke/stuns....

[-]
HomelessSkittle | March 6, 2016 10:32am
Would it be worth it to drop the points in Meditation and Bandit in the Cunning tree for Sorcery and Expose Weakness in Savagery? Mana can be a problem if you don't control yourself, but overall it isn't too difficult, and bandit overall seems pretty worthless - if you are around your ADC all game, at literally every moment and time, you *might* get 300 gold from bandit. 2% on abilities and 3% to all enemies seems pretty strong in comparison.

ADC: AD Marks, AR seals, MR Glyphs and ATT. speed Quints

AP: Magic Pen. Marks, AD seals, MR Glyphs and AP Quints

Yeah I failed to notice earlier, but there was a bug with the masteries and that's fixed now. Thanks everyone!

Could you elaborate a bit on the Eye of the Equinox versus Face of the Mountain? Is there a specific reason for you to choose one over the other in a game? If you decide to go for Equinox, do you upgrade it early?

I think fotm + ruby sightstone is a stronger combination, since you get more stats and the shield thing from fotm. You can make up for the stats you lose/shield by buying an item with your new slot, though, so as far as I'm concerned it's about personal preference.

Ahpulzz wrote:

Hey the guide looks great but the only thing I'm wondering about is your masteries. Right now there's a single point in Meditation and no points in Bandit - was this on purpose? The masteries did get messed up a bit when they added Assassin into the Cunning tree so either you prefer the mana or I'm just letting you know, haha.

Again this whole thing looks really nice and must of taken a decent amount of time, so props to you!

(p.s. I always thought about it but now I might try Executioner on melee supports for a bit; it seems interesting.)

Great Guide! I do have one question though: why would you go for the straight health runes versus the health percentage runes? by level 8 with only eye of the watchers, you still gain a greater percentage of hp than you do the straight 72 hp from the 8hp runes. Thats my only suggestion, otherwise great guide! =)

you forgot to put Nami up there as a easy counter. braum blocks her ult, nami is squishy and will easily die if stun locked and overall it would be a easy lane to farm and push at will when jungler wants to do dragon. This guide is pretty good.

Just a thought here. For your too aggressive rune page maybe change one or two of those quintessences to attack speed to help get in all that damage, what with so little attack speed he has,so you can possibly duel if you get separated or even to put your MD and stun on much faster. Please reply with either a reason not to or just to imply that you read this.

Neverless, it is a great guide.

I do have to ask though, why Boots of Mobility? Maybe it's just me but as a tank support I would opt for Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads. Boots of Mobility just feel really slow whenever you're in combat and doesn't offer anything particularly special. If anything I'd throw in Ninja Tabi and Mercury's Treads as viable options.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you. I think you could justify the purchase of either of the two, but Mobis are go to boots for nearly every support as you get a lot of use out of moving around the map faster (easier to ward and roam, harder to get caught).

Cheatsheet:

Runes: Some pros like to use AD marks - not sure how good it is, but armor seems fine.
Masteries: You can pull off 0/9/21 on all supports now. 0/16/14 is good too if you want. Not so sure about 0/9/21
Build:
- I think rushing sightstone is very important if you have the extra 800 gold to hasten the vision setting and denial process. If you have like 500 or 600 upgrading targon's is fine.
- The format is fine, but I think it'd be better if you split it into categories of luxury items and team-based items, luxury items being selfish items like randuins, bveil, etc - items that boost your own tankiness, and team-based items like righteous glory, locket, mikaels, etc. It's a format more fitting for an understanding of how supports should itemize. Although you might understand the differences between the two, newer or less experienced players may be confused.
Skill order: gud gud
Matchups: idk, i dont play braum

Guide content:
Runes: As mentioned above, I recommend changing the primary one to the AD marks one for more lane presence
Masteries: don't leave offense as a viable option :P
Summoners: Ignite works well in lane if the enemy team does not have a heavy-dps diver / assassin that threatens your backline
Items: Should mention about upgrading trinket whenever you have extra gold
Roam timing: Think you should mention more about how the minion wave affects your ability to roam, such as roaming when your lane is shoved in, and how denial of vision plays into effect.
Lane phase: you should mention about how players should think about the lane matchups before playing aggro at levels one / two, because some you can straightout win with your power spikes at certain levels while others you almost always lose
Warding:
- you could also mention how warding affects other players on the map as well (if you ward up and see the enemy jungler the opposite lane knows he can play aggro if he wants to anc force a kill, lane pressure, etc)
- brush ward 3 can always be used for top lane tp plays

Overall it's a solid guide. The critique I had was mostly targetting higher level play, which most readers of the guide probably won't understand / won't be able to utilize. The guide doesn't convey any false information and is good enough as a standalone for bronze~plat or even low dia ranges

Also I think you should ALWAYS rush Mobi's + Sightstone before getting anything else (targons is luxury IMO). Finally, I'd love to see you expand your warding tips to include some late game warding tips as well.

  • Which potions you get isn't a big deal to be honest and I think it depends on the kind of player or game your having, people you're against etc. Two Health Potions are 300 HP which is basically half your health bar, and although an extra one wouldn't hurt obviously, I don't think it's necessary unless you're going up against a pokey lane. A Mana Potion will also make it so you are able to stay in lane for longer. You're not useless when you have no mana, but you're not as great as with mana. I personally prefer to have a mana potion with me. You might have little mana issues as you're a diamond player, but some other people might have mana issues when learning Braum.

  • Personally I don't think so, and I wouldn't change that in the guide. Without Targon's Brace, the most gold you can get is 50 in the first (two) waves, then another ~50 every third wave. 50 gold is like nothing for three waves for one, and for two that also means you only have the heal part of the item every third wave too. You can't fix having less gold and having less sustain that by getting sightstone, but vision problems can always be fixed by buying Stealth Wards, not that there are too many problems by lvl 5/6/7, when you get Sightstone normally.

  • Warding chapter for mid and late can indeed be arranged, it might take some time thoughs.

I may not play support, but as an ADC I'd cry if my Braum took Ruby Crystal instead of getting twice as many heals and being overall tankier because of it just so he can get Sightstone quicker.
