Welcome to my first guide, a guide on one of my favorite champions, Nocturne.

This is a Top Lane guide.

While Nocturne is usually played as a jungler, he can also be a destructive top lane champion.

Pros:
Deals a ton of damage
Has a fear that makes ganks destructive
One of the funnest kits in the game
His kit gives him lane wrecking ganks



Cons:
Squishy
Has trouble fighting tanks
His Q is a skillshot, and is really frustrating if you miss it, even though its fairly easy to hit
Mana hungry early game in lane

TAKE

Ghost This will help to catch up to the enemy and fear them, with your Unspeakable Horror

Flash This will help for escapes, as well as securing kills if your Duskbringer is on cooldown

DON'T TAKE

Smite We aren't jungling
Ignite This is a good summoner spell, but with Nocturne you want to CATCH the enemy to secure a kill, not do 90 damage over time
Revive No

Max Duskbringer first, its Nocturne's most important ability, he gains A LOT of attack damage, movement speed, and the initial nuke itself does damage. You can also fire it infront of you to help you escape, because of the bonus speed.

Unspeakable Horror This is also VERY important to nocturnes kit, it doesn't deal much damage, but if you keep your enemy leashed, they will be feared. This is VERY important to land ganks, if you can fear your enemy before they have a chance to get away, you probably have a kill unless the enemy is a tank.

Shroud of Darkness This ability isn't great, but don't get me wrong, it IS useful. The spellshield can save your life, and the passive can also be useful in combat for its bonus attack speed.

The spell shield is AMAZING if you're fighting Karthus when you see the Requiem above you, pop your spell shield and it does nothing to you. This does take a small amount of timing though, try to use the spell shield a bit after you see the Requiem since it has such a low lasting time.

Paranoia This skill can destroy enemys, always keep your eyes open, and if the enemy is getting away with low health, don't be afraid to ult in, Duskbringer then Unspeakable Horror you should get the kill unless something went wrong.

Nocturne Is pretty squishy early game, try not to take to many hits, but don't give up last hits. If the enemy is harrasing you try to keep them away with Duskbringer and move in and hit them a few times. If you hit less then 20% health, rather turrent hug or recall. Once you hit level 6, get as much farm as you can then recall. Wait for them to push a bit, then Paranoia , Duskbringer , Unspeakable Horror for the kill.

If you get fed early you will become an absolute killing machine, you can fear, +55 dmg and speed, and ult in destroying allied vision and jumping into any fight.
