Pros/Cons


-Pros!:
-Great durability.
-Strong mid/late game.
-great jungler.
-more health, more damage!
-Amazing ganker
-Ultimate that removes ALL DISABLES!

-Cons!:
-No ranged damage besides Undertow
-not a threat when out of melee range
-most people pop his ulti just to get out of a fight
-If you're backed up and can't reach minions, you can't use Tough It Out to beef yourself up with some extra lifesteal.

Runes

Marks(Reds):
I prefer to take greater mark of desolation for the armor penetration which works really well with Ragnarok and AD champions in general. So this is especially good early game where your melee harass will do a great amount of damage early.

Seals(Yellows):
I take Greater Seal of Armor for all my AD champions with the exception of my tanks, but i recommend these Seals to all your frail and even your durable champions.

Glyphs(Blues):
I take Greater Glyph of Magic Resist for early Magic Resist to help my durability even more in lane so that i can take consistent hits from enemy champions.

Quintessenses(Any damn color you want):
I take Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage for some early game dominance in lane. It makes farming a little easier and harassing a little stronger so i can push back a little farther.
If you also take a look at the jungle Olaf build, i take greater quintessence of desolation instead for the extra armor penetration.

Abilities

- Your attack speed is increased by 1% for every 1% health missing. This passive makes Olaf a great 1v1 fighter because you'll be a very deceptive fighter at low life

- Olaf throws an axe into the ground at a target location, dealing damage to units it passes through and slowing their movement speed. If Olaf picks up the axe, the ability's cooldown is reduced by 6 seconds.
Olaf throws an axe to a target location, dealing 50/90/130/170/210 (+) physical damage to units it passes through and slowing them by 24/28/32/36/40% for 2.5 seconds. I take a point early at level 1 for LaneLaf, level 3 for JungleLaf.. Great to catch up to fleeing enemies, but is a hard skillshot to land.

- Olaf's attack damage is increased, based on his health, and he gains massive lifesteal and spell vamp.
For 6 seconds, Olaf's attack damage is increased by 7/14/21/28/35 (+  [1% of maximum Health]) and he gains 9/12/15/18/21% lifesteal and spell vamp. For JungleLaf, i choose to max this first. With Lanelaf, i choose to max this alongside Reckless Swing. this makes you a great jungler and amazing skirmisher because the tankier you build, the more damage you'll end up dealing.

- Olaf attacks with such force that it deals true damage to his target and himself.
Olaf ferociously swings his axes, dealing 100/160/220/280/340 true damage to his target.Amazing early game damage. Max this along side Tough It Out. With Lanelaf, it will give you mad up-close damage early game and mad damage with JungleLaf if you land your Undertow while ganking.

- Active: Removes all disables from Olaf and for the next 6 seconds, he is immune to disables and reduces incoming damage by 20/30/40.

Passive: Olaf has 10/20/30 increased armor penetration. Take this whenever possible. This in my opinion is one of the best ultimates in the game because it can turn the tide in a CC heavy 1v1 or even 2v1 and you can still come out on top. Why? extra armor pen. and can't be disabled. period.

Skill Sequence

As you can see, i choose to take Undertow at level 1 to harass and hit minions from a distance in case i'm getting outranged by that pesky Morgana or getting perma-stunned by that Sion. Then i focus on maxing Tough It Out for the most lifesteal and spell vamp and Reckless Swing for the most true damage early in the game to decimate the champions stacking armor.; I take my ultimate at levels 6, 11, and 16.

Summoner Spells

Alright, here are the summoner spells i use and why i use them.


Cleanse:
I know what all of you are probably thinking "What the hell, Why do you need Cleanse on a champion that has his own personal Cleanse?!" Here is my answer. Do you always want to use your ultimate to escape a situation? Didn't think so. Hence i use Cleanse to BUST MY *** OUT OF THERE!


Ghost:
And here's the second part of the infamous "Bust my *** out of there" summoner spell combo. Using Ghost along with Cleanse can get you out of any heavy CC situation, and wait for it, WITHOUT USING YOUR ULTI!


Smite:
You can take Smite if you take a look at the jungle Olaf build and want to jungle. i will set up a jungle guide close to the end of the guide.

Items

If you've looked at my previous guides, you'll see that items are my favorite things to explain. So here it goes


Doran's Shield

i always like to start my build of with a Doran's Shield for early durability with 120 health, 10 armor, and some nice health regeneration to keep me in lane for longer periods of time

Now your boots

Berserker's Greaves

Now for your boots. I believe a shiny set of Berserker's Greaves fits our cuddly friend here very well not only to get him into action but also give him a nice amount of early attack speed to trigger Tough It Out quicker.

Now some durability for our friend here

Phage

Time for an item that will give Olaf here some durability to give him the tanky damage dealer feeling that we've all come to know and love, and what better item to start that off than with a Phage. Phage will turn into our first priority item. which i will explain next. With a Phage handy, you have a 1/4 chance to slow your target, and i think you know what this means. This means you can chase and proc Undertow as well as the slow from Phage if your lucky ;]

Time for an upgrade

Frozen Mallet

This is where Hell freezes over for the enemy team. Here is your close friend, Frozen Mallet. With a complete Frozen Mallet, every basic attack you land will slow the target for 40% for 2.5 seconds. Oh the fun you two will have together will be endless. Once you can proc a slow from Frozen Mallet, it's over for that evil little Kennen.(sorry man, only one i could think of, xP)

Time for the infamous Atma's Impaler/ Frozen Mallet combo!

Atma's Impaler

Core item number 2 in your build of mass destruction, the good ol' Atma's Impaler. This makes a Frozen Mallet plus Atma's Impaler create mad damage output since Atma's Impaler takes 2% of your maximum health and converts into bonus damage!, making your damage skyrocket from one item, all because of your durability. It also gives you 45 armor and 18% crit chance(EPIC!)

Time for a little bit of some facestomping!

Stark's Fervor

This is probably one of your most important items. When you start with an emblem of valour, it spells Hell for the enemy because they all know where its going from here. Once you pick up a Zeke's Harbinger, paired with Tough It Out will give you, waaiitt for iitttt, *cue drumroll* 41% LIFESTEAL!!! This will give you absolutely mad sustain in a teamfight and makes you an unstoppable force in a 1v1 fight!

Now here's where the real fun happens

Trinity Force!

Now that you've absolutely destroyed the out-of-position enemies, why not make the fight even more interesting with my good friend, Trinity Force. Combined with Reckless Swing, the auto-attack after that will DECIMATE the target you hit due to your lifesteal, damage from Atma's Impaler, and your extra damage as HP from Tough It Out will equal one thing, a free kill!.

Now to finish off the build.

Banshee's Veil

There's a reason i do pick up a Banshee's Veil is not only for some extra mana, but also HP for Atma's Impaler, and a 45 second cooldown spell shield in case you're targeted in a team fight. (Which you probably will be.) But don't fret, with this full build, you'll be an unstoppable force in a lane and in a jungle.

Team Work

Team work can make or break anyone. Which is why it can be absolutely vital to someone like Olaf because of the amazing damage he can deal. Since he isn't the tankiest person in the game, he can't take too many hits without dying, so always have your support snag the target with a hard CC and jump onto that target. Since you'll be playing the role of a damage deal (duh), you'll need to target the most important players on the enemy team to save your allies, and to secure a victory for your team.

Jungle guide

If you do take a look at the second Olaf build, you'll see that Smite is equipped. Yes, i do have a jungle path for Olaf.

-1) You'll want mid to leash Golem buff for you so that you won't take too much damage from him, giving you a better chance at staying alive during your first jungle route. You'll want to take Tough It Out for the lifesteal in the jungle to keep yourself nice and healthy. You'll want to use Smite to make sure that you don't get buff stolen. With Golem buff you can keep Tough It Out spammable.

-2) Next, clear the wolves. By this time, you'll be level 2, take 1 point in Reckless Swing for the Lizard buff, but go for Wraiths before Lizard, so that red buff is still fresh for your ganking phase.

-3) Then clear up the small Golem camp, get your boots, and go gank those lanes!

Now here you must ask and answer these questions

1) Is the lane warded? Any halfwit in a solo top, or any lane for that matter, will have a ward, so buy a Vision Ward to counteract their sight ward. Then your ganks will be unexpected.

2)Should i stay in the jungle or gank a lane? This is something that can really get to you. If your solo top can survive and last-hit without taking too much damage,then stay in the jungle and level yourself up. If your lane is in dire need of a gank, then go for it, keep them off your low-life ally and let them recall and cover that lane. It can be as simple as that.

Summary

Well this just about ends it for my Olaf build. As a summary, Olaf can make a great jungler and a good solo top. So Olaf can easily be a great choice for a team
