Introduction

Hi All and welcome to my second build on mobafire, thanks for reading! Patch 4.20 introduced a lot of changes, especially in the jungle and in this preseason everything can still change again. This guide is WiP and I will work on and update it everyday. If you have questions, feedbacks or suggestions I’m here so feel free to comments or send me a pm.

About Rek'Sai

Let’s talk about Rek’Sai, the jungle’s Queen. Since her teaser, I wanted to buy her. I was in love with her lore, her art style and her gameplay mechanics. She is a highly mobile attack damage fighter, totally manaless and generates fury on her AA.
Her kit is totally maden for counterjungling, objective controls and split pushing whit her sensitive mechanic, her super mobility and AoE damage.

Summoners Spells


Flash and Smite are your friends. You will (or should be) using these spells for almost all of your games.

Flash


This spell is self-explanatory, definitely the best summoners in the game. Another gap-closer or Escape when your Tunnel is on cd.

Smite


You are the Jungler.. this spell is a MUST.

Why Tank and not Assassin?

Now i explain why Rek'Sai work better with ealy tanky items than assassin's items.

This champ is very squishy, but he has the naturally scale-stats of a tank.

Health: 611.2 (+90 per level)
Health Regen: 7.34 (+0.65 per level)


Armor: 28.3 (+3.75 per level)
Magic Resist: 32.1 (+1.25 per level)

Also, he got a marksman-like AD per level stats and a nice AS per level stats too
Attack Damage: 55.628 (+3.35 per level)
Attack Speed: 0.625 (+2% per level)

So your Attack Damage could scales nicely for his own in the late game, and you can safely go for a tanky way, building of course 1 or 2 damage item during the game, but with your early tankiness you could bring more utility for your teammates.

And, more important fact, Rek'Sai IS NOT an assassin. He doesn't have a reset on his skills, he doesn't have a In&Out mechanism like Zed or Kha'Zix for the cd of his tunnels, his damage are fury-reliant, and 1v1 he need a lot of time to reaches 100 fury, and during chasing, when you aren't fighting or when you are burrowed you consume your fury, so you don't have it ready for secure kills.

Your skills do their best in to the middle of the enemy team, and of course if you are full AD they will do a lot of damage, but what if a single CC (and every team has more than once) hit you? You. Are. Dead.
Instead, with tankiness, you can fearless burrow-in vs 5 for knock-up as much enemy as you can, let your carries to do their damage with your usefull utilities. All of these obviously IMHO.

Masteries

New masteries are really interesting. Basically, they made it so you aren't forced into the exact same points every game. Now you actually need to decide which ones are more suited for you, if the 21-9-0 (recommended) or the safier 9-21-0.

I prefer the 21-9-0 Combination for more early damage that helps your first jungle clear over the 9-21-0 wich provides basically more tankiness. But if you think that the enemy jungler is a hard matchup you could take the tanky tree as your primary.
