Why and How

Short answer:

This build is really so simple, both theory-wise and playstyle-wise that this segment will be short.

Evelynn is one of my favorite champs in League, and I played her a ton back in the day when she had that invisibility that lasted until you attacked someone. The joy then was to creep up behind someone and E-burst them. This build will basically do the same.

Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself...the reason why I picked up Eve again now, is that I noticed that pinkwards are less popular than ever now (atleast in ~Gold and probably below) however a problem with a more standard AP-eve is that she becomes very unreliable lategame. Her damage takes time to get off properly, and her squishyness makes her VERY easy to stop with CC.

I think Devourer makes your E so strong that it more than makes up for less damage on Q, and Guinsoo's Rageblade allows you to basically build whatever you want after that and both your E and Q will do significant damage to enemy carries.

The build obviously excels at sneaking up on enemy Jinx overextending slightly @ bot or whatever when she's farming and just straight up 1hit, or dat Lux or Morgana or what have you - but you will be suprised (and so will enemy team) to see that you can actually duel Lee Sins, Jaxes, Tryndameres and Mundos, aslong as you time your all-in assault well (wait until Lee just used his Q or E and so on)

Items

I feel that Tracker's Knife - when going Devourer, is just the safest all-around choice here. It guarantees that you will farm out the jungle hard early, and you will be flung into midgame with a really decent damage.

Even if you have a tough start (get invaded, get killed, lost buffs, failgank etc.) you KNOW that you can come back by farming hard. If you gamble on winning early duels because of smite, you don't really have much left if that fails.

I really like Dead Man's plate on Eve - it is a natural transition from pure damage to some defence, while STILL adding more damage-potential! How can that ever be a bad thing? Exceptions can of course be made if a over-fed Teemo already is 12-0 or whatever you know, but in most cases I just auto-buy Dead Man's plate :) MR+Armor+Burst?? THANKURITO<3

Early-game

Get to devourer, stack it, get rageblade. Your E is main damagesource with this build, although always spam your Q. Overextending enemy mids/tops should of course be punished, and it can even be worth to gank bot early if enemy is immobile (see: Lux & Jinx for example)

Just make sure your teammates let YOU engage when you come to gank, the element of suprise is key with Evelynn. And red-buff is VERY strong for you when you gank early.

Warding crossroads from enemy jungle can also be worthwhile early, because if you see enemy's ganks beforehand you can easily swoop in and time a countergank well for easy doublekills.

Mid-game

You should have a stacked devourer a rageblade and your favorite boots now. Remember to always keep pinks with you. Controlling vision and map with champ like Evelynn, makes it A LOT easier to pick off squishy targets and isolate people.

I would say that the biggest danger in midgame is if your team starts grouping up in lane and the game turns into a 5on5 mid. This is not where Evelynn excels, and if your team do this - AND it doesn't work - AND they just refuse to stop doing it, I almost reccomend that you go top or bot and start splitpushing.

You need enemy team to spread out so you can 1hit isolated targets.

Late-game

You are now a PURE BEAST ASSASSIN. Think duelingcapabilities of Jax/Trynd...but with more reliable engage/escape (W and/or R) AND invisibility...holy ****, this is so OP.

There are multiple obvious win-conditions:
-Keep 1hitting enemy carries. This is frustrating and will easily make enemy team collapse.
-Stay cool and let the rest fight it out, then swoop in for cleanups where you easily catch kills after the dust settles.
-Force jungle-objectives like Baron and Drake - you take them out real fast, just remember to pink and clear wards when on Baron.
-Splitpush. You push fast as **** with Guinsoo's Rageblade and you are so slippery with W and your invisibility.

Here is a video where I decided to just start soloing bot to stretch out enemy team - I made some big mistakes, overextending without vision but it just goes to show how forgiving Eve really is with this build:
