Introduction

Hi guy this it's adamSS or supaturkk. From what I've seen there aren't too many good guides about Teemo on Mobafire, this is one of the main reasons why I have made this one. I want to get to the point in this guide about what you should do as Teemo, knowing him mechanically even if you have no background on who plays in what lane and so on.

You can always add me on adamSS and supaturkk if you ever wanna play or duo:)
Hope you guys enjoy the Build :)!

To put it short, Teemo, is a DPS mage yordle who excels at obliterating a lot of the melee tanky bruisers due to his insane harass.

Pros / Cons

+ good harassment in top lane/hardly beaten
+ Very good survivability
+ Excellent team player
+ Ult has map wide use and free wards
+ Move Quick is a great way of chasing and running away fom your enemies
+ Can build in multiple different ways
+ Excellent top laner, bully.
+ Has legendary skin and is really cute!
........

- Everyone hates Teemo including your team mates, they might rage if you pick him
- His meant to dominate top lane, if he doesn't then you sort of fall short, since the enemy will most likely have a tanky initiating bruiser whilst your team is stuck with another mage
- Teemo does not counter all melee bruisers, gap closers and tankiness is a big weakness to him

Lore, Stats & Abilities

You can skip the Lore if your not interested or you have already read it, so down below you can read what teemo is all about!

Teemo is a legend among his yordle brothers and sisters in Bandle City. As far as yordles are concerned, there is something just slightly off about him. While Teemo enjoys the companionship of other yordles, he also insists on frequent solo missions in the ongoing defense of Bandle City. Despite his genuinely warm personality, something switches off inside Teemo's mind during combat so that the lives he must end while on patrol do not burden him. Even as a young recruit, the drill instructors and other trainees found it a little disconcerting that, while Teemo was normally charming and kind, he turned deadly serious and highly efficient the minute combat exercises began. Teemo's superiors quickly steered him toward the Scouts of the Mothership, which is one of Bandle City's most distinguished Special Forces unit alongside the Megling Commandos.

While most yordles do not handle solo scouting missions with a great deal of finesse, Teemo is remarkably efficient at them. His record of success in defending Bandle City from infiltrators easily makes him one of the most dangerous yordles alive, though you'd never know it by having a cup of honey mead with him at his favorite inn. Bandle City chose Teemo as their first champion for the League, and he has taken to it like a duck to water. His signature weapon - a blowgun - uses a rare ajunta poison he personally gathers from the jungles of ***ungu. To help cope with his lengthy periods of isolation, Teemo recently struck up a friendship with Tristana, a fellow League champion and fellow member of Bandle City's Special Forces. This connection is healthy for both yordles, though now Valoran's voracious media outlets circulate rumors that the friendship is turning into a romantic relationship. Regardless, Teemo is a crowd favorite in the League of Legends, and a pint-sized foe that many have come to fear.

''Teemo rides a thin line between chipper compatriot and unrepentant killer, but there's no one else I'd rather have as a friend.''
-- Tristana

Stats

Damage 44.5 (+3 / per level)
Health 378 (+82 / per level)
Mana 200 (+40 / per level)
Move Speed 330
Armor 14 (+3.75 / per level)
Spell Block 30 (+0 / per level)
Health Regen 4.65 (+0.65 / per level)
Mana Regen 6.45 (+0.45 / per level)

Abilities

Blinding Dart - Obscures an enemy's vision with a powerful venom, dealing damage to the target unit and blinding it for the duration.
Deals 80/125/170/215/260 (+0.8) magic damage and blinds the target for 1.5/1.75/2/2.25/2.5 seconds.

Mana Cost 70/80/90/100/110 Range 680

This Is Teemo's Q, its his main ability, it has many different aspects of it. This is mainly the reason why Teemo can counter a LOT of melee ad bruisers in top lane. IT blinds them, meaning that their auto attacking is "blinded" and does not work for the duration depending on its level. It is also a pretty big nuke since it has great base damage and a great ratio. It is a great harassing tool in lane phase and is one of the big reasons why Teemo is so annoying to enemies :P!

Move Quick - Teemo scampers around, passively increasing his movement speed until he is struck by an enemy champion or turret. Teemo can sprint to gain bonus movement speed that isn't stopped by being struck for a short time.
Passive: Teemo's Movement Speed is increased by 10/14/18/22/26% unless he has been damaged by an enemy champion or turret in the last 5 seconds.

Active: Teemo sprints, gaining twice his normal bonus for 3 seconds. This bonus is not lost when struck.

Mana Cost 40 Range 0

This is possibly the most unappreciated ability in Teemo's kit. This is another major factor that makes him counter most melee bruisers in top lane, they simply can not catch him. If he is not attacked he gains bonus movement speed, so he can auto attack harass and if he see's them approaching he can kite and walk back and fourth repositioning himself very quickly to keep harassing via his auto attacks. If activated it gives even a bigger movement speed boost!

Toxic Shot - Each of Teemo's attacks will poison the target, dealing damage on impact and each second after for 4 seconds.
Teemo's basic attacks poison their target, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 (+0.3) magical damage upon impact and 6/12/18/24/30 (+0.1) magical damage each second for 4 seconds.

Cost 0 Range 500

This simply enhances Teemo's auto attacks, granting bonus damage on impace AND damage over time after its impact, the harassment with this ability in top lane is as annoying as singed's poisen.

Noxious Trap - Teemo places an explosive poisonous trap using one of the mushrooms stored in his pack. If an enemy steps on the trap it will release a poisonous cloud, slowing enemies and damaging them over time.
Uses a stored mushroom to place a trap that detonates if an enemy steps on it, spreading poison to nearby enemies that slows movement speed by 30/40/50% and deals 200/325/450 (+0.8) magic damage over 4 seconds. Traps last 10 minutes.

Teemo forages for a mushroom every 35.0/31.0/27.0 seconds, but he is only big enough to carry 3 at once.

Mana Cost 75/100/125 Range 230

By far his best ability in his Kit and one of the most annoying and UNIQUE useful abilities in the game. It basically makes you have free small wards on the map that deal crazy amounts of damage. Once you hit level 6 you can no longer get ganked literally due to Teemo's signature shrooms. This is what makes Teemo annoying to your team and enemy. It can possibly KillSteal with it and possibly randomly kill an enemy which is always fun! At level 6 just one shroom almost does as much damage as the enemies ultimate, and the fact that you can use it as wards and place 3 when fully charged at a time makes Teemo just a real pain in the ***!

camouflage Camouflage - If Teemo stands still and takes no actions for a short duration, he becomes stealthed indefinitely. After leaving stealth, Teemo gains the Element of Surprise, increasing his attack speed by 40% for 3 seconds.

This can have many uses, if there are no pink wards or oracles you can ambush enemies quite effectively with his passive. Once waiting a little while Teemo will stealth and once he gets out he gains an attack speed bonus, which can be sued in early game laning phase to gain immediate lane dominance or it can ambush people, place a shroom stand in it let someone go on it, ignite, blow your Blinding Dart auto attack and get the kill :)

Runes

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration: Some magic penetration to get through that magic resist they buy, honestly the best mark rune choice for Teemo, do not swap for anything else please.

Greater Seal of Armor: Why flat armor runes? Because your most likely going to lane top lane, due to the amount of champions you can counter, top lane is always about 90 percent AD, you need flat armor for people like Darius, your going to get hit from them sooner or later, so these will help Teemo.

Greater Glyph of Attack Speed: This will help with giving Teemo more DPS from his toxic shots, other than this I would go for magic resist runes.

Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed: This only makes you more annoying because you are almost impossible to catch, you can kite well with amazing movement speed, definitely needed in top lane so you do not get caught in melee distance.

Greater Quintessence of Ability Power: Nice 5 flat Ap to give you some ap in level 1 to harass the enemy with.

Masteries

Teemos masteries are simple, full AP on the Offense side, get the scaling health and armor from Defense side and one point in Utility so you get less time on your flash!

Items & spells

ITEMS
Items can be a hassle to deal with. Your thinking there are so many ways of building Teemo. AD, AP, ON-HIT and TANKY and so on.

I will say this, I do HIGHLY recommend, that you go Flat AP, or On-Hit with high amounts of AP and less than usual attack speed. This works best. And yes you also can build Tanky if needed, Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Sceptor and Zhonya's Hourglass are all great choices. But please make sure you buy magic penetration boots and none else, these boots are the best choice, on hit or not!

Some Item Choices

Rylai's Crystal Scepter: This is pretty good, it gives health, AP and most importantly makes you kite like its no tomorrow.

Rabadon's Deathcap: This needs no explanation

Void Staff: Gives 40 percent magic penetration, simply a must late game.

A MUST HAVE!

Liandry's Torment: This item maximizes Teemo's DPS and damage output. I NEVER rush this ever, its a fools trap, its much better to just keep the 20 magic penetration usually and build someone else, until late game. However on teemo, finish it off early game, because it is so useful on tanky high healthed bruisers in top lane, trust me.

SPELLS

: Unless your going tanky Teemo and are going to use Ghost, which is illogical since he Move Quick, means basically that just pick flash, it is beyond useful in so many ways.

: Makes sure you are a real lane bully and makes you dominate, ignite plus poisen, cannot go wrong.

Lane Phase

There are so many different ways of playing him in lane as well as skill levelling. But I will talk about this is an overall sense.

Get boots, three health pots and a mana pot. Or boots a ward and a health pot.

Go to lane, depending on the enemy get Blind or get Toxic Shot. If its lets say Singed, bet your ***, you should get Toxic Shot. At level 3 you can really harass now, don't waste mana using your blinding shot, unless you need to use it. Harass with your Toxic Shot and keep at it. Only level Move Quick, once for its passive and activation if needed.

Activate Blind only when getting attacked, from lets say Irelia, shes pounding you with some auto attacks, use Blind and just attack her in the mean time with your toxic shots.

Once at level 6 you can ply really aggressive, since your safe from your shrooms. Place them all around so the enemy doesn't gank you. Once the enemy uses their gap closer place a shroom right beneath them, land Blind and keep auto attacking, they won't know what hit them.

When to play Teemo?

You play Teemo when your up against a melee AD bruiser. That cannot harass you more than you can harass them, or simply a champ with no strong gap closer or someone who harasses via range.

For instance

: Darius is a yes, he has one pull, you can bait out his pull which has a huge cooldown, and bait out his Q. If your Caught, just use your blind, activate Move Quick, get away and start harassing again with your auto attacks since he cannot come in melee range of you.

: You can beat him in lane, but you MUST SMASH HIM in lane. Because if you don't seriously hinder his farming, he will just buy merc treads, then Spirit Visage, activate ghost, ult and wither you, and kill you under your own turret. he will outtank your harass soon enough. So harass him so much that his so behind he cannot do this.

: This should be simple enough, he has 0 ranged poke

: Singed is pretty weak early game, you can harass him to death with Toxic Shot, so like Nasus do this so he doesn't turret dive and kill you at level 6.

When not to play teeemo

: you will lose this horribly, do not try.

: This is very hard once she gains some levels.

: he will out harass you and heal everything you throw at him.

So simply put no ranged harass or people with constant gap closers.

Summary

Overall, Teemo, is a fun bully in TOP lane and is so annoying for the enemy! :D
