Who am I?

Hello my fellow summoners and welcome to my guide The Cybernetic Throne on The Machine Herald Viktor. My name on Mobafire is EndlessVortex12 but I recently changed my name on LoL to Tekuru and play on the NA server. I've been playing since Jinx's release and I'm pretty experienced with this game. Last season (Season 4) I made it to Gold 5 around the end of it and played normals until the next season. Season 5 is here and after my placements I landed in Silver 1. A week later I dropped to Silver 2 attempting to find ways to climb back to into Gold and maybe even further. This is my very first guide and I plan to keep it updated and to work hard on it. To be honest these items, runes, and masteries were copied off a Diamond player's way do it and they about about the guide now. His name is XoXXoX. XoXXoX has a guide that someone commented about and I didn't know about until now. I recently spoke with him and he says he doesn't mind the build being up. Basically I just watched and looked at the way he played and wanted to share it with my fellow summoners. He's also part of the NA server and he inspired me to play Viktor again after a failed search to find the right build for him in the past.

I present to you my fellow summoners and possible future Viktor mains, The Cybernetic Throne! My first guide ever on The Machine Herald Viktor!I chose Viktor because he's my favourite AP Mid laner and I feel that he doesn't get used as much but he has so much potential when built right and when fed. I will respond to the questions and advice I get about this build and will keep this guide updated whenever I can. Last season my record with Viktor wasn't so good because I was jumping around with builds on him non-stop. But this season I hope to get carried with him and this lovely build and I hope it's helpful to you guys in your ranked careers :).

I recently talked to XoXXoX over League of Legends and he said he doesn't mind the guide being up and about his build. So I hope to get advice, and updates to the guide from our conversations.

I find these runes very useful for Viktor because they enhance his AP and Magic Penetration which can be helpful in combat such as bursting and poking enemies.These runes are mainly for defensive measures; when you feel less confident about winning your lane.

The first skill you'd want to upgrade would be Viktor's famous Death Ray. When you rush Hex Core MK-1, bullying your enemies couldn't be any more satisfying then this with its Aftershock. The extra damage upgrade Death Ray does now is very annoying for the enemy early game. Poking with this and lowering your enemy laner's HP can really increase your chances of a guaranteed kill from a gank by your Jungler.

The second skill you'd want to upgrade would be Viktor's Siphon Power. Buying this next really makes Viktor a cool kitting machine. This upgrade gives Viktor movement speed after using Siphon Power on an enemy. Now that you have the Turbocharge plus Ghost, you can chase your enemies and finish off with a skill or you can use it to escape from them.

Now for the grand finally! I present to you a perfected Viktor! This is the last upgrade you'll be buying for Viktor. When purchasing the Perfect Hex Core, the last basic spell left to upgrade would be Gravity Field while Chaos Storm gets upgraded automatically. Gravity Field's new feature really shines bright in team fights. Instead of having your enemies sit in the same spot they were stunned in, the Implosion upgrade now drags your enemies into the center of the Gravity Field which helps you line up your Death Ray and gives a better positioning for your Chaos Storm. The Chaos Storm upgrade gives it 20% more movement speed and this helps when your enemies live with a small amount of HP and can escape if they're fast enough.

These shoes are undeniably the best shoes for Viktor. They give him Magic Penetration and Movement Speed which are good for his Death Ray and Siphon Power spells. Distortion is good for Viktor in this build because its unique passives. It decreases the cooldowns of Ghost and Flash but also increases Ghost's movement speed when used and give a bonus movement speed for 1 second when Flash is used. Alacrity is the substitute for Distortion since you wont be running Ghost when using these boots. They're just used for extra movement speed and nothing more special than that but it's still good for Viktor. Morellonmicon is great when rushed nowadays on AP mid laners because it works so well when matched against healers like Nidalee, Soraka, and Dr. Mundo. Morellonomicon's passive can mess with champions that have healing spells, have big amounts of HP Regen and enemies who carry Heal with them. This item also helps with Mana shortage and gives extra AP and Cooldown Reduction. This item is very good on Viktor because it provides early Magic Resist, Cooldown Reduction, AP and Mana Regen. This item comes in handy when you're facing Mid laners such as Zed and Fizz. It gives you a chance to survive a life-threatening spell or it gives you time for a spell to come off cooldown to kill an enemy and/or time to escape. This item provides a large amount of HP and AP. It's passive becomes very useful to your team when being chased or when chasing since it slows the enemies' Movement Speed. This item is my personal favourite on since it boosts your AP 30% with and additional 120 AP. This item is very effective on Viktor because it gives you a ton of offensive power to catch-up and become a threat to your enemy team. Magic Penetration is the key to making Death Ray as deadly as it is. Void Staff provides that Magic Pen for Viktor and getting this early can make your opponents run back to spawn crying about the amount of damage. This item is great when you need Magic Resist but you still want to do damage opponents. It keeps you safe but with a good offence. This item became a main item on Viktor in Season 4 because of the combo of burst you can make with Lich Bane's passive and Viktor's Siphon Power. Granted a shield plus a high amount of AP with your next basic attack from both the item and spell makes this lethal item becomes Viktor's best friend. I personally like Liandry's Torment because it's similar to Rylai's but instead of slowed Movement Speed, it burns my enemies causing them to think twice about in range of my skills. Randuin's is a choice for XoXXoX and they seem to like on Viktor and I don't mind it because it gives that extra armour when you feel Zhonyas doesn't provide enough with HP as well including its helpful active and passive that can really help you and your team out during fights with auto attackers. Banshee's is also an item that XoXXoX builds on Viktor and I like this idea as well. When you more Magic Resist and HP is needed, Banshee's Veil is the perfect item for that role. Also not to mention it's Spell Shield is very reliable.

The reason why I enjoy using Ghost on Viktor and the reason why I assume XoXXoX likes it as well is because it's so reliable on Viktor. With the Masteries and boots enchantments in this build, Ghost becomes a very summoner spell to have on Viktor because it's up when you need it and at times it can substitute for Flash. Ghost can be used when running away, chasing an enemy, or just to catch with your team when grabbing objectives or securing some team kills. I also find it useful for roaming to other lanes and picking up a kill very quick and returning back to my lane.
Ignite is very useful for the other Viktor build because it provides that secured kill advantage. Ignite can be also used when facing a Mid laner that has a lot of HP Regen or healing abilities for example: Swain. If this is the case, combining Ignite and the item Morellonomicon shut down those champions late game.
Sometimes I find my self ending up facing a Heavy AD Mid laner and feel that I might not be able to play safe. Barrier solves that problem by being swapped out for Ghost and used as an 'Extra Life'. It can really save you when you know you might die from a spell such as Zed's Death Mark and Vladimir's Hemoplague or even an enemies' Ignite. Barrier also works well when fighting a champ that you think might out-trade you, using that combined with Siphon Power's shield can really save your life in battle.
Flash is the most common summoner spell on all champions so ALWAYS take flash! Flash mainly used everywhere because it helps your instantly get to safety or over walls and it's very good for chasing. This spell works well with Siphon Power, Chaos Storm, and Death Ray when wanting to finish off an enemy or bursting them by surprise.

Farming

When it comes to farming with Viktor, I usually last hit to avoid overextending. When I poke with Death Ray I do it so that I hit minions and the enemy Mid laner at the same time. If you want a gank to come later on, your best choice is to poke until they're low enough to stay but be killed when your jungler arrives.

Ganks

Setting up for ganks with Viktor are the one things I find most difficult with him. Use Gravity Field when you're close enough to your enemy but be careful when facing champions like Zed, Fizz, and LeBlanc who have skills to that help them escape. When facing those types of champions make sure you waste their skills that allow them to get to safety for a gank that could get you a kill, assist, or even an enemy Flash burned.

Team work with a champion like Viktor is the main key to a successful game whether you win or lose. The trick is to discuss team fighting and synergies before the game starts(champion select). You can talk about the amount of CC your team has and who to use it on when team fighting. For example: landing your (W) Gravity Field so that the enemy team stays clustered for your team to spread their damage and take them out.
