Some info

THIS IS NOT FINISHED, OR EVEN NEAR. WHEN I WRITE A GUIDE, IT USUALLY TAKES ABOUT 1-2 MONTHS TO GET DONE, BUT THIS FAR, I HAVE ONLY WRITTEN 1 DAY. DON'T YOU DARE THINK THAT THIS **** IS DONE, AND CALL ME A BAD PLAYER FOR NOT INCLUDING STUFF. - AES98

Introduction

Hi everyone! This is my first guide on this MOBAFire account, which is a mix of me, AES98 (IGN (IGN = In game name) = EUW, EUNE), and Skägghälge. Basically we both have control of this account, and can both write guides, and so on. Anyways, I (AES98) mainly play Attack Damage Carry (ADC). Skägghälge mainly plays support, and jungle. We both can mid, and jungle too, but we don't do it so often, so there will probably not be so much about those positions on this account. I found out that many poor people don't really got this thing about ADC-ing in season 3... So I figured I would make a guide on it. I am not calling myself the best at this game, or even great, but I do claim one thing. I do claim that I am a more then decent ADC, and therefore I think that I have the rights to make this guide. I hope you enjoy it, and that its good for learning and so on.

PLEASE DO COMMENT, I WILL JUST BE HAPPY FOR YOUR FEEDBACK, EVEN IF YOU TOTALLY THINK THAT THIS GUIDE SUCKS! Just tell me WHY you think that this guide sucks. Its all about the WHY. Thank you.

Items

This is gonna be a long one. Here I explain WHY and WHY NOT you should get certain items, and not. So lets get started!

The ideology about "The Items"

There is actually more to the thinking about items, then what most people think. I like to keep it to my standard. That is the 4-1-1 setup. You got 6 inventory slots, and therefore you have to divide it in to 3 groups. I also take it in the same order as the masteries. So that means that my 4-1-1, is this. 4 offensive items, 1 defensive item, and 1 for mobility. There we have 4-1-1. Some people go with the walking murder machine, such as 5-1-0 and skip boots, because they want more damage, but that is kinda MEH, and only for pro's. Why? Because if you get out of position, and don't have boots, you are gonna have a bad time.

Why do I get 4-1-1?

You get 4 offensive items, because you are the ADC of your team, and your teams success rely on you doing the AD damage of your team. Your teams job is to protect you from dying, but it of course helps if you are in position, and never going first, but that's another chapter.

The 1 defensive items allows you to survive at least a LITTLE beating from the enemy team, in case you ever get out of position, or your team fails to protect you. This happens from time to time, so its a worthy investment.

The 1 Mobility items is a no-brainer pick if you are not pro, as I said above. You need to be able to get around, and actually dealing that damage you are supposed to do.

The items themselves

Offensive Items

Blade of the Ruined King is probably the best item for an ADC in the whole game at the moment. You get bonus attack speed, attack damage, lifesteal, and that AMAZING activate effect. I can't make this clear enough, that activate effect has saved my life more then 200 times this far, AT LEAST.
Get this item as quick as you can, and don't forget to use the activate.

Infinity Edge is the main DAMAGE item that you get. It gives much AD, some critical strike chance, and that awesome passive. So worth getting.

The Last Whisper you get when the enemy is getting armor. It is worth getting it even when they just get a Runic Bulwark. The whole enemy team gets more armor then, and that sucks for you, since they stop your damage.
STOP THEM FROM STOPPING YOU FROM DEALING DAMAGE!

Statikk Shiv is when you got to farm all game, because you won the lane, and have gotten loads of extra gold, because of the Avarice Blade, you need to make something of that item. You could sell it, but you could also make a Statikk Shiv of it. Then you get more attack speed, more critical strike chance, and SOME more movement speed. Then you get to use the chain lightning to put out more overall damage, quicker. You don't want to build an Executioner's Calling, nor Youmuu's Ghostblade, nor Atma's Impaler. The Executioner's Calling is almost only for stopping a Dr. Mundo from eating you all, but that's not your job. The Top-Laner, or jungler, can get that, if the team needs it. The Youmuu's Ghostblade is just to little of everything to be useful. And Atma's Impaler is not worth it, since you don't have enough health to make it to pay off.

You only get Bloodthirster if you are bad with activate effects, but my recommendation is just practice the activated effects, and learn to use them. Honestly, the Blade of the Ruined King is way better then Bloodthirster. Only get this item if you really need to, but yea, my advise stands.

Runaan's Hurricane is only if you have a champion that benefits from it, and DON'T GET IT ONLY FOR THE ATTACK SPEED. Caitlyn and Vayne can get it, since Caitlyn's passive benefits from it. You now get a "Head Shot" every 3rd basic attack, instead of every 7th. Worth it according to me. Vayne can get Runaan's Hurricane because of her Silver Bolts, they apply to the bonus projectiles of Runaan's Hurricane. I don't recommend the item for any other ADC champion at the moment.

Phantom Dancer is a good item, and you don't have to worry about minion blockage anymore, but the fact remains, you have to choose what items to get. No matter how much you want it, you can't have them all. Either you get Phantom Dancer or you get Statikk Shiv

Black Cleaver is not really often seen on an ADC, but it works, against HEAVY ARMOR. I do prefer Last Whisper though.

Mercurial Scimitar is only for when you meet an overfed Veigar or any other APC with loads of CC (Crowd Control). If you get stunned by a fed Veigar, you are dead, done, raped and so on. If you have to get away from that one stun, charm, root, or CC, this is a good item. Otherwise, its not recommended.

You can get Maw of Malmortius OR Mercurial Scimitar, but not both. They are both precautions against a fed enemy APC, and you should really not even get this item as an ADC, but desperate times, calls for desperate solutions.

Defensive Items

I, AES98, ALWAYS get the Warmog's Armor instead of any other defensive item, such as Guardian Angel or Banshee's Veil. This is because Warmog's Armor ACTUALLY MAKES YOU TANKY! The Guardian Angel does not really make you tanky, it just revives you in the middle of the enemy team, when they are just waiting to eat your face. That is not really funny, now is it? At least not for you. And the Banshee's Veil is not really a viable item on ADC overall... I would not recommend getting it at all.¨

The Guardian Angel is only if you are fed beyond belief, and really don't want to die, OR if your team is winning so hard, so that you will NOT wake up from Stasis in the middle of the enemy team. I still get Warmog's Armor, no matter if we win or not. But that's maybe just me.

Mobility Items

You get Mercury's Treads because you don't get Guardian Angel, and therefore you are really low on resistances. The "Tenacity" is just a great bonus, in addition of the magic resistance.

I, AES98, DO NOT GET THE POINT OF Berserker's Greaves. I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM, EVER, AND I WILL KEEP GETTING THE Mercury's Treads. I AM DONE TALKING ABOUT THIS, AND THE Berserker's Greaves SUCK ACCORDING TO ME. D-O-N-E

The Enchantment: Furor is needed because you want to be able to chase, and kite. These are also things that a good ADC have to master.

The pathetic asking for recognition, as a good-decent player

Goodbye everyone

I hope you enjoyed the guide, and that it was not too much of a pain to get through all of the text. I will, as most other people ask 4 things of you.
  • Like it on Facebook, if you liked it.
  • Rate it.
  • Comment, if there was ANYTHING that you wonder about, or want to say to me. If you want to rage at me, then please do so in a PM, and not all over the comments.
  • Share it, if you think that it was anything to have, or don't if you thought it was worthless.
