Introduction

Welcome to my first guide here on Mobafire. I want to show you how you can play Tryndamere. Runes, Masteries, Skills, Items and Laning are the topics of this guide. So relax and read my guide.

I would like you to vote on this guide AFTER you read it and to give me some feedback.

Note: Sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language and I'm still learning =)

Runes

Okay now let's talk about the runes.

Greater Mark of Desolation

These runes will increase Tryndamere's damage output, especial against tanks with much armor.

Greater Seal of Evasion

Tryndamere is very squishy so we have to take some defensive runes. Some prefer armor but I like dodge to reduce the damage of an AD Champion in early and late game. I think it's your decision to take armor or dodge.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist

While the dodge seals make you more durable against AD Champions, the MR Glyphs will make you more durable against caster. You can also get [Greater Glyph of Shielding].

Greater Quintessence of Critical Damage

Your dodge seals and MR glyphs allow you to stay longer in the fights. So you don't need defensive Quintessences. I like the critical damage because you can gain up to 35% critical strike chance with your passive, so the critical damage increases your damage output even in the early game and when you get an Infinity Edge you can deal Tons of Damage ;)

Masteries

I haven't got much to tell about my masteries. I go 21/9/0 to take as much damage as I can while also increase the defensive power of Tryndamere to make him more scary in team fights. The 10% increased critical damage work perfect with Tryndamere's passive and the armor penetration helps him to deal damage even against a tanky team. The 3 % lifesteal added to the Vampiric Scepter allow Tryndamere to stay longer in his lane and keep on farming.

Skill Sequence

Okay now I show you Tryndamere's Skills.

(passive)
Tryndamere gains fury for every attack, critical strike or minion kill he does. He gains .35% critical strike chance for every point of fury (maximum 35%)

This passive is very strong. It increases Tryndamere's damage along the whole game. You should always try to have the full 100 fury.

(Q-Skill)

Passive: Tryndamere gains additional Attack Damage and some attack damage based on the health he's missing
Active: Tryndamere consumes his fury to give him some health back + some health based on the fury he used.

This skill helps Tryndamere to stay alive. The heal consumes all your fury so you should just use it when your about to die. The passive of this skill helps Tryndamere to deal more damage in the early game. I max Bloodlust first, so I have the most damage in the laning phase and can heal me, if I'm in trouble.

(W-Skill)
Tryndamere reduces the attack damage of all enemy champion near him. He also slows enemies that are not facing him.
Mocking Shout can have 2 good uses. 1 you can use it to chase a champion. Slow him when he's running away and kill him. Secondly you can use the Skill to reduce the attack damage of enemies in team fights or in a 1 vs 1. An enemy AD Carry with reduced attack damage is easier to kill and deals less damage. So Mocking Shout can turn a team fight with a strong enemy AD Carry into a win.

(E-Skill)

Tryndamere spins into a target area an damages all enemies he passes through. Every critical strike Tryndamere does, will reduce the cooldown.

This skill is good for minion farming, escaping and chasing. With enough AD you can kill a whole minion wave with Spinning Slash. When you get ganked, just escape over a wall and when you are chasing someone, you can easily kill him with a Mocking Shout and Spinning Slash combo.

When you have enough damage and lifesteal, you can even use Spinning Slash to ''heal'' yourself in a mid lane team fight. Just spin to the ghosts, kill them and spin back into the fight. Spinning Slash should be back of it's cooldown, because of some critical strikes at the ghosts.

(ultimate)

Tryndamere gains 50/75/100 fury and his hp can't fall under 1 for 5 seconds.
One of my favorite ulti's. Tryndamere can't die and the passive damage ammount of Bloodlust is as high as possible while Tryndamere has just 1 HP. Always make sure to hit ''R'' when your're about to die and NOT when you started to get damaged. A good timed ultimate of Tryndamere can change a dead into a doublekill or even more ;)
Note: Bloodlust should be avaible after the duration of your Undying Rage, otherwise Ignite or champions like Teemo , Cassiopeia or Malzahar can easily kill you with their DoT.

Items

Now let's take a look at the Items. I have two different Itembuilds for Tryndamere.

If you want to, you can change the Berserker's Greaves into another Phantom Dancer to have more Attack Speed while still above 400 movement speed.

This is my first Itembuild. It gives Tryndamere an amazing damageoutput with lots of armorpen to destroy tanks. The attack damage and attack speed allow him to to take down everyone fast and when your ulti is tunred on, they can't beat you.

BUT if the enemy team is clever, they will stun you and kill you after your ult. The damage is great and the Items are very good when the enemy team cant stop you, but if you play against a good team you should increase Tryndamere's durability.

So my second Itembuild for Tryndamere is:

These Item's help Tryndamere to break out of CC's and deal the damage that is needed to win the fight.

Other Items:

This Item will increase your attack speed as well as you survivability with the stacking MR.

A little bit more damage, massive HP and an additional slow to your Mocking Shout

If you die to often or just don't want to be targeted then grab this.

And to increase you survivability, you should always have a tank or supporter that buys Aegis of the Legion.

Summoner Spells

For Summoner Spells I take

and

to increase my damage and to escape if necessary. Ignite will also reduce the healing of a Champion, so it's very usefull against champions like Vladimir , Dr.Mundo and Warwick.

Other options:

Exhaust is good to reduce the damage dealt of a champion and slow them. I don't take it because I use Mocking Shout for this, but you can feel free to choose it.

If you prefer it to Flash then pick it.

Cleanse helps you to break out of CC.

Not recommended:

You can heal yourself with Bloodlust so why would you like to pick heal? There are some Spells that are more useful.

You should leave it to your supporter.

Well :D , I don't think I have to say something about it.

Laning & Farming

Okay finally I tell you something about the laning with Tryndamere.
In the very early game you should try to last hit as much creeps as you can. Tryndamere can be easily harassed by a ranged carry so be careful to not get hit to often. For my laning-style with Tryndamere Janna is the best partner. When she is played as a supporter she can give you the minions and her Eye of the Storm will reduce the damage taken and increase your damage. Also, she can save you or initiate a attack with her Howling Gale.

In the mid game you should always keep a look at the minimap, to push a lane and take down a turret or just farm a bit.

In the late game you should stay by your team to help them and win the team fights. Just leave them to clean a wave or for backdooring when your team is able to fight without you.
