Introduction
I'll pass through the major points of build and gameplay, fastest way to summer it all up is to... read the guide!
Small note, any jokes about ad carry Sona are to be considered hypothetical.
My Preference
These let you get away out of most situations, generally keep safe and have offensive uses as well.
Notable Mentions
space | Go back quickly to lane? Why not!? | space | It's a good choice, in place of Cleanse. Flash you need in any case to get away with ulting. Of course you can replace Flash with it, but I do not recommend doing so. | space | Another interesting alternative to Cleanse, it might let you survive hard CC if you trigger it right after, and also lets you help teammates too. |
Unviable Choices
space | This is unviable simply because you have enough slowing already, and shouldn't pick fights with ad carries (on who you would use this) you should take something else honestly. | space | This is a bad choice because half of the time you won't be able to use it. You will either be too far ( Noxian Corrosive Charge -> Acid Hunterx3 skirmish combo) or won't help out too much in case of a close duel. | space | Surge is bad because you don't exactly need all that attack speed. Your attacks are use to trigger Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmentor and Trinity Force. Using them more with a summoner spell over another is a waste. |
- Greater Mark of Desolation is an obvious choice, as pretty much all of your damage is physical.
- Greater Seal of Replentishment is preferable over Greater Seal of Armor because:
- You will be laning against an ap carry, who has magic damage.
- You have mana management problems.
- Glyphs are more effective in magic resistance.
- Greater Glyph of Magic Resist because you need magic resistance against the ap carry that will usually go mid.
- Greater Quintessence of Life Steal isn't a necessity, but I like it because it gives you some extra sustain you may need against a mage.
Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter
Reduces enemy damage output when you hit him with an AA
This is useful against any champion as it diminishes damage dealt in general. So Auto Attacking (AA!) your opponent will make him deal less damage to you! Yet another reason to use AAs.
Acid Hunter:
Shoot a skill shot that damages.
Your main damaging ability, you can use it to harass, deal more damage in a skirmish, use it in long range by locking down with Noxian Corrosive Charge... etc.
Terror Capacitor
Shield. While it's on your AAs and Acid Hunter slow.
This is useful not for the shield (it's your only ap ratio XD) but for the slow, use it when enemies are coming towards you and are planning to commit to make them change their mind or kill, or use it on those running away to chase easier.
Noxian Corrosive Charge
A ranged poison that allows you to never miss Acid Hunter
Never miss Acid Hunter with this, it's mainly used for long range skirmishes. Try to go by without it in close range ones, unless you're sure you can kill the guy without him running away.
Hyper-Kinetic position reverseHyper-Kinetic Position Reverse
Change spots with target applying buffs/debuffs
This changes spots with the target champion, gives you a large bonus of Armor and Magic Resistance, stun the target and slows it. Use it in close encounters to gain an advantage, switch positions with the enemy carry and flash away!
basically:

An alternative would be: taking Noxian Corrosive Charge early on.
I prefer getting Acid Hunter first though, because I can harass with it.

Yes, even though there's an enemy, like Anivia or Ahri RIGHT THERE, just waiting to be hit with Acid Hunter, you should still last-hit creeps. It's common knowledge that CS is IMPORTANT, especially if you have a solo lane.
Killing champs is good and fine, just don't forget to kill the creeps too. Basically, enemy champions are bigger creeps that give more gold =3.

Urgot is a skirmisher and as such he's good at setting up a teamfight, but he's not very good at being in the middle of the teamfight.
Just hang around the edges and deal your damage output. Maybe right before a teamfight Hyper-kinetic Position Reverse with their AD carry and flash over the wall to come back later.

Urgot is the best skirmisher in the GAME.
Forget Corki and Xerath.
Xerath doesn't have proper lock on and misses easily:
Here is a demonstration
Btw, only look at the first 32 sec of the video, the rest is just demonstrating how Xerath feels (Black screen for 2 min ftw!).
Corki actually has to commit to the fight. His ult has no real poke.

This here is simply a mini-guide on how to play vs different common mids.
This girl is out of your league, so play defensively and ask for jungler help.
If you take Urgot first and they take Anivia you can start laughing in chat.
Anivia has #Nothing on you. Dodge Flash Frost (easy), then her Frostbite won't do anything. You can then proceed to kill her multiple times and get a giant level advantage, making her completely useless.
Don't let Dark Binding hit you. As long as you do that you'll be OK.
This guy has mediocre early game, crush him before he can do anything.
People think of Urgot as of an AD caster, which he partly is. So Kassaddin will think that if he silences you, he wins. Prove him wrong with AA =3.
