Threats to Morgana with this build
|Bard||Beware of his stun. A good Morgana will know when and when not to spell shield a Bard Tempered Fate|
|Soraka||Soraka is a passive laner, if she comes close to land her q punish her with a binding.|
|Janna||Passive laner as well, Janna is a squishy back line support. If you comes near or give presence, simply bind her with a q|
A little Intro
Hey! This is my first ever MobaFire guide! My name is Woofypvp on the NA. This guide is to help
you learn about Morgana support. Morgana has always been one of my favourite champions ever since I saw her on the free champion rotation. Morgana is an easy champion to learn and is great for solo queue climbing.
Morgana "The Fallen Angel"
Morgana is a champion considered as a Mage as her main role and Support as her secondary role. Morgana is often played as a support but you can play her mid. She has so much potential with her crowd control and Black Shield. Morgana can set up for kills with her Dark Binding and Soul Shackles while being safe with a Black Shield to be safe from Magic Damage and Crowd Control
Abilities + Tips
Morgana's kit offers her for many play making potential. Each spell ability can be used offensively or defensively if used correctly. In this section of the guide, I will be explaining what they do along with some tips & tricks.
This is how you sustain in lane. Using your Dark Binding or Tormented Soil you can spell vamp on champions , minion and monsters. Try not to kill / last hit the minions like this but weaken them for the ADC. Watch your mana bar due to the high mana costs at low levels.
- Always max this ability first for an extra 0.25 second snare on Dark Binding
- Main source of damage other than Soul Shackles
- Use this to spell vamp off minions
- Slow skill shot, you must predict where they are moving
THIS IS A SNARE NOT A STUN. RANGED CHAMPIONS WILL BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK
Pros & Cons of Morgana
Every champion in League of Legends always have their strengths and weaknesses
Why I take certain Masteries?
I run 0-18-12 Masteries with the keystone Thunderlord's Decree on Morgana support. There are some masteries you can swap out, but this is MY personal preference of playing her.
- Increased movement speed for roaming. As a support you should go roam mid if you are ahead.
- Will help for lane sustain early game.
- I tend to like this over
because of the synergies with Tormented Soil.
This is a must have on all supports, you need gold too!
Increase your max Cool Down Reduction by 5% while giving you an early 5% CDR. More CDR will equal more Dark Binding and Black Shield.
I see others take
, which is honestly really bad. Black shield is on a cool down of 23 seconds as level 1 without any CDR. So you would only benefit every 23 seconds, while if you use
you would have a greater efficiency.
Free 5% more Armor & Magic Resist ? Why not?
I personally like taking this over
because of minion damage. Trading damage between you and the enemy ADC will annoy them , miss cs and have lower HP than your ally ADC
*NOTE* You can take Explorer instead for the roams
- "Reduces the cooldown of Summoner Spells by 15%"
This will give you more Flash Dark Binding or Soul Shackles
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Seal of Scaling Health
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
I personally like running a standard Mage rune page, it gives you a strong early game damage from Dark Binding also for a stronger Black Shield. I take Magic Resist Blues because more supports deal Magic Damage eg ; Annie , Thresh's Flay , Blitzcrank
- Secures a kill or will blow an enemy flash
- Peels for all in assassins such as Zed
- Exhaust + Frost Queen's Claim + Soul Shackles = Slow Zone
Flash is a MUST on Morgana because it creates good kill potential with a Flash + Dark Binding. She has a base movement speed of 335 which makes her one of the slowest champions in the game, there is no escape with her if there is an incoming gank.
Ignite is an agressive summoner spell on supports. It gives pressure in lane trading by dealing true damage. I usually would take this spell vs tanks like Dr. Mundo. Support Ignite is different from mid lane Ignite. As a support you would ignite when the enemy is around 75% hp so you will not secure the kill but your ADC does, while in mid lane the ignite will slowly tick at their low hp which eventually lead to a kill.
HealYou can go heal on Morgana but i personally rather have Exhaust or Ignite. The heal will give you a boost of movement speed and healing but Heal does not stack with your ADC's Heal. I would take Flash + Exhaust or Ignite just because Exhaust has so many uses.
How to Play the Support Role
Support isn't all that easily. Although you can't carry in the games, you set up plays for the team for follow up. A support is usually down in the bot lane with the ADC, usually a support will have some sort of ability which can "support" the team, healing or crowd control. As a support you shouldn't be taking kills or cs if nessasarry, would you benfit more with the gold or will the ADC will? Since you won't be taking cs you would start with a gold income item ; Ancient Coin , spell thief's edge or Relic Shield
