Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Start: Practically Vital.
Having the Secret Stash Mastery really helps here
Back: You need the CDR from the codex so I build it before anything else
Core: Rod of Ages is a definite, get it first. After getting ROA, build against whatever you are laning against
Ekko comes with a skill set well tailored with his theme and each other.
Z drive is overpowered allowing you to deal more AP and slow you opponents. Landing a Timewinder on your opponents while running and then hitting them to set this off gives you a speed boost and they get slowed which makes chasing you useless
Timewinder is your main poke and farms easily in the game. Also slows for fun. Deals more coming back so aim it properly for the most out of every throw.
Parallel Convergence: If timed right you can easily chunk your enemies' health down and escape safely since they get stunned. Upgrading this only increases the shield so you should just put one point into this.
Phase Dive: Ekko's mobility is crazy with this ability. It's basically another flash but has a second teleport with it. This enables you to dodge skillshots, jump over walls, and chase down fleeing opponents without breaking a sweat. Proc Z drive with this and you can actually Melee poke for a good 200 to 300 damage and escape before they can do anything.
Chronobreak: So broken... It used to cost 0 mana but they changed that. You can use this to escape or, if you can aim it right, dodge a skillshot, flash back to your enemies, land in your parallel convergence, burst you enemies to at least half health, stun them, throw your Q at the largest cluster, hit the rest of them proc-ing Z drive and then phase diving the cowards, PENTAKILL! Of course this is very Condition reliant but a good Ekko player should have now problem getting doubles or triples this way.
Items are for Tank so masteries are mostly for damage output.
Sorcery: it's AP Ekko duh
Double Edged Sword: I prefer damage over heal but it's interchangeable
Nautral Talent: More and More damage
Oppressor: Ekko is all about slowing so this gives MORE DAMAGE
Wanderer: Savagery is pointless
Secret Stash: A must have in my opinion for every champ. Gives more healing = more sustain
Merciless: Once the drop below 40% their pretty much dead already
Dangerous Game: No point on Bandit
Intelligence: Ekko's abilities have extremely high cooldowns so it is in your best intentions to reduce them as much as possible
Thunderlords: Thunderlord's basicaly procs along with your passive dealing more damage and adds a slight burst with your third proc
Ekko's Issues (What to Avoid)
Biggest problems of Ekko is his high CDR
Second Biggest is high mana conusmption
The items mostly take care of that
