I'm Caiky, I've been the rank1 kogmaw world for the last 2 seasons, with vayne as my 2nd most picked champion with a winrate nearly as solid as my kogmaw. Extra skillpoints into your Q not only increases your damage in short trades, but also decreases the cooldown of it. If you find that you need to kite more/run them down more, then throw in an extra point or two before maxing your W. 5 points into Q is only for when you build crit. Generally once you play a decent amount of vayne you'll just be able to FEEL when you need to do this, just go with your gut. Don't underestimate doing this it can really make the difference in those tough matchups!

I usually run triumph most games, as it's simply overtuned, especially in lowelo where you can maximize the gold gain from it. If i'm in a matchup where I won't be poked often (MOST TOPLANE MATCHUPS) I will run overheal for the extra protection against an all-in. If i'm fighting tanks or champions with heavy sustain (hello maokai/irelia) I will run POM so I can freely use my Q to poke them down as much as I want.

I generally run alacrity every game, but if I really need the extra protection against all-in or dive I will run bloodline, as when fully stacked it gives a nice extra 100 max hp. There are other vayne OTPs that run each rune an equal amount, so it's really just preference. If you think you can sacrifice the extra damage from alacrity, then run bloodline. If you value the damage and solocarry potential more than a little bit of extra protection and sustain, then run alacrity. Try them both.

Resolve got nerfed pretty heavily, but conditioning/boneplating/overgrowth are all still extremely strong. If you are able to scale freely, then conditioning is the best for you. If you are in a hard matchup, bone plating is really nice to have. Never run revitalize unless you have 2+ enchanters, and don't autopilot run resolve everygame.

Stop going to u.gg for builds. Stop importing that build from blitz. Just because it's popular doesn't mean its good, or good into everything! Be creative with what you build, use your brain, and mix and match builds from this guide to find what is the best into each enemy team. Vayne is one of the few ADCs in the game that isn't forced to build full crit every game, and is allowed to abuse the broken tank items in the shop! ITEMIZATION IS CRUICIAL TO CARRY AS ADC!
