Previously my teammates informed me that Zilean is the worst champion in the game.
So if people say this, it should be correct, right?

There is only one possible way to play Zilean and this is the way I explain in this guide!

You are going to feed anyways so get the spells mentioned in the cheat sheet to feed more.

Zilean is the worst champion but has long range. So we use AD masteries to abuse that range. Pretty simple right?

Although Zilean has good range, the machine pieces he is throwing, are going to slow. We use all attack speed runes to throw machine pieces faster!

Passive: All of you gain exp. faster which is good if you have a good level scaaling teammate.

Q: Timebomb does too little damage with this build and drains too much mana.

W: Helps you have abilities a lot faster which is stupid since your skills are stupid.

E: Helps you run faster and throw more machine pieces to enemy. (only possible good thing)

R: It is ********. The guy you targeted is gonna die either way.

Boots help you get faster back to lane when teleport is down, so that you feed more.
Buy guardian angel in case your ults fails you.

Get as close as possible to enemy and attack enemy carries. Always initiate your fight with awesome nitro ability. Try to soak as much damage as possible. If you're gonna die, ultimate your self. when you wake up, repeat process. Same with Guardian Angel.

If teammate going to die. Never ult them. If they die, it is because they want to. They want to leave this world of misery and flamers.

Important note: This only works in ranked games.

Zilean is one of the most unpopular and one of the hardest champions to play. He has a high skill floor and skill cap. He is possible in the roles of either support or mid. When I play Zilean, I usually play him in the mid lane, so I can only talk about this role. Zilean is not your typical Yolo Q mid champion. He cannot really carry games and his damage isn't through the roof. However, he brings some form of AoE spammable magic damage which is quite big, and offers great utility to the team since he has movement steroids and debuffs as well as a revive ultimate which is crucial to revive a fallen important member of your team.

His masteries are usually a typical 21-0-9 build.

His runes are:
Magic Penetration Marks
Scaling HP Seals
Magic Resist Glyphs
Ability Power Quints

As zilean, you want to have your abilities back on as fast as possible so you're going for a heavy CDR build. Optimal build is:

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
Athene's Unholy Grail
Rabadon's Deathcap
Zhonya's Hourglas
Void Staff
Frozen Heart
