The main thing to keep in mind is that she's a zone control character. If you attack her in her zone, she's really strong. Get her moving out of her zone and away from her tentacles, and she's really vulnerable. Also, during the laning phase, she's more vulnerable to ranged characters who can more easily kill off her tentacles.
As a support, she can be strong in that she can keep a zone up that will punish enemies walking into it. On the downside, she has no cc of any kind, so she can't protect the adc carry in any way. Also, bot lanes tend to have ranged champions who can kill tentacles fairly easily. I imagine that in normals or bronze games, she could be a fun stupport. However, I think even silver elo players will punish her if tried as a support.
