Ya I thought the same thing but they are pretty pricey and I don't have any. For most characters they are subpar so I probably won't be buying them to use for just one or two characters :)

Yeah, but that was the old Jax.
The new one doesnt use CS for dmg except you take heavy AD.
Old or new, Jax is still hardcore item dependent: Mid - late Jax gets insane with AD, AP or hybrid doesnt matter.
The rework only pushed that back to a later point.
You should plan in Wriggle's Lantern, an early Phage and Mercury's Treads for the beginning. This 3 are the core items for the new Jax. And now, you can build either Frozen Mallet + Atma's Impaler or Warmog's Armor+ Atma's Impaler+ Trinity Force(more gold = more damage and survival).
After that most important items for survival and damage you can get Guinsoo's Rageblade to add more damage. For the atrimog's, you can finish the build by selling Wriggle's Lantern and buying Bloodthirster. At the fatma's build, you can put in another item, it should have defensive purpose which still increased your damage. And the best item for that is Wit's End. Then also finish the build with Bloodthirster.
You can also buy Hextech Gunblade instead of Bloodthirster, but I don't think it is worth it.

He is gonna kill you!!!
Disagree. While all three of Wriggles, phage, and merc treads are definitely options, I find it hard to necessarily call them your core. Wriggle's is very strong in lane and jungle. That's probably the closest of the three to being a core item for sure. But building an early phage is not enough damage for my taste. And boots are still kinda situational, methinks. And Wit's End sharing a build with a bloodthirster doesn't seem all that efficient, but idk.
