Why is it that 90% of the LoL community is like...

Thing is - I'm no stranger to competitive games, and I'm no stranger to being in the tournament scene. In said tournament scenes, I have never met people like this outside once or twice. Wheras in league of legends, it happens every other game regardless of if someone deserves it or not. =/

That's really why I pose the question.

Maybe it is because LoL is pretty attractive to a younger audience since it is free, and doesn't take up TOO much time (depending on the person of course). That's the only thing I can think of... though a lot of tournament games aren't that expensive and not subscription based... so... *shrug*

I have experienced this in both DotA and Lol. Maybe these kind've games just make people crazy in the head! :)
Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!

It is like said earlier, people usually have nothing to brag about and usually get caught in their own ego.

There was 1 ally who fed in my 3v3, and me and my m8 just having bad day, i got dced 3 times (thank you riot) and my ally, well he just got caught in nasty attacks that our 1 ally decided not to tell us about.
All of a sudden i see red people post, and what does it say?

Noobs.
Hahaha what a noobs.

And so on, people think they are the bomb for winning and want to feel big so they try to bring down people below their hilariously low level, what can you do about it?
/ignore like said earlier, or just chat random stuff like, me likes cookies, would you like cheese with that, yes the weather is nice here to.

Those people hate it and they waste their time spamming "noobs!!" and raging at their screen *at least, thats how i picture them when they spam the chat so angrily which makes my day just so much better*.

Why troll people when all you do is wasting time on thinking up a good counter and you only make them enjoy their own trolling more, /ignore or random text is so much quicker and actually lets you focus the game unlike those people who rage at your /ignore or random text.

Best way to really piss them off is say in all chat ":O never thought ignore would be so usefull, man my chat became alot emptier awesome, said something? to bad ^_^".

Do this before you /ignore so you can get a good laugh at their rage :D.

It's competitive nature. I try not to flame anybody but when the **** gets thick and I come out strong, a little back-scratching is in order. It's especially worse when I play in tourneys for other games.

Maybe it's cuz I'm an old fart, but if a player is doing badly against me, I usually give them tips during the game to countering my moves. I was recently playing as Blitz and there was a Twitch that I grabbed half a dozen times (and killed 3 or 4 times) during lane phase. I felt awful and told him to hide behind his minions more often.

I know how it feels to be outplayed, and it sucks. I, personally, prefer an even match where both teams have a good chance of winning.

This is not really what the topic is about :P.
We are talking about those people that go flaming/trolling people laughing and going, nooob , noooooob etc just because you are losing to them.
But i agree with you, even i like even matches where both teams have a good chance to win and would give some information to those that manage to get killed to often because they are careless.

There is a difference in a being at a tournament or even just the people who are playing at a tournament. People are gonna be ruder?(more rude?) when they aren't gonna be physically confronted about it.

personally, i troll people who show they get worked up because it flaws their gameplay, and is generally entertaining

i've made a legendary lux miss all her skillshots and cost her team the game before

i also tell people they are bad (on my team, usually) if they are costing us the game in an attempt to make them never play said champion again (cause they were really bad) or atleast make an effort to improve their gameplay (in the sense of realising "yeah, this isn't working, I'm going to try something else or look at something else to help me play better")
Jet has been banned for trolling and blatant racism.

@Jet:

That's a horribly cynical way to play a game >_>

If it were a war or something, maybe. But a better way to go about your day is giving them tips.
People play for the fun and adrenaline. You're only contributing to the badness by being a prick.
